I’m so glad you made hotpot! It’s so versatile and you can always adjust it to your taste. For hotpot, everything you need can be found at T&T. I would recommend the instant hotpot broths, pre-sliced hot pot meat, and dipping sauces are a must (soy sauce, chilli oil, sesame sauce, Chinese bbq sauce, green onion etc)! Vermicelli and udon noodles work really well in hotpot as well, rice noodles are good too and don’t need to be pre-cooked :D
I have to agree! There are so many instant broths and dipping sauces to choose from so you can keep trying new things. And the pre-slided meat is a must since it makes it a lot easier :)

I know the intense pain it can cause. I wish you many more happy moments and lots of support to get through this. Love, D from The Netherlands
actually you got lucky that one side of the hotpot cooked less because youre not supposed to boil miso soup after adding the miso (because it turns bitter)
I have the fryer oven, it’s the same as an air fryer, just more room, and I love it! Mine comes with attachments so you can make rotisserie chicken, skewers, and a rotation basket to get and even cook on fries 👌🏻 so I literally use mine for everything, chicken breast has such a good consistency in the air fryer
Hey Mia! My husband prefers my homemade ranch. It’s veganaise (we have to use the soy free variety). Thinned out with milk substitute of your choosing and then garlic, salt, and dill. He loves it! You can make it thicker like a chip dip or thinner for a ranch :)
Mia I’m so curious. Is your whole family, including Tate, living with you or is your house just the cool new hangout? It’s so cute seeing how close your relationship with your family is. Also I’ve never heard of hotpot and definitely want to try it now, thank you!
I feel blessed you choose to share your life with us. I know I am not the only one excited to see the next chapter of your life unfold. I personally can't think of anyone more deserving of a magical fairytale ending! Mia, you are the best!
Air fryer college hack: 1-reusable basket covers or foil so you don’t have to constantly clean the basket! Also creates a more even cook with the foil when heated. But! (I made up the quantities in my head and of course you can personalize) an air fried cinnamon apple! I use an apple, cut it in half, scoop the seeds/core out, fill the scooped out centers with a slice of butter, some brown sugar, and some cinnamon. It takes literally like 5 minutes and it’s such a yummy, semi healthy dessert!!
I am a chef and work in a restaurant. For the beef. you have the right idea and the research you did is correct. We do about 60 portions of beef... so we use a commercial slicer. We put them in the freezer overnight and then use a commercial slicer to cut them. if doing it with a knife. it needs to be 3/4 frozen and your knife needs to be razer sharp.
Always use one hand for wet ingredients and one for dry so you don’t get all the clumpy mess. And if you lay it on the crumbs, lightly roll it, don’t keep touching with your hands especially when they’re both full of wet and dry ingredients. It will cover everything much better...Hope this will help for the future. You did a great job and they sounded so crunchy!! 🥰👩🏻🍳🍲🥘
Those stained Silicone Baking Sheets get cleaned best when you put in the Dishwasher, Top rack, each time you use them. Also make a baking soda paste and scrub the sheet with it and let it sit. Also good quality dish soap, soak it in there (natural dish soaps don't clean well).
honestly after doing an elimination diet last summer i really enjoy hearing mia mention her elimination diet progress, it's like we're in this together lol
Since the noodles you used in the video is pre-cooked noodles. You can heat the noodles with a wet paper towel cover on top and in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. The noodles will automatically separated

I couldn’t believe you and your mom had never heard of chocolate on popcorn! I feel like in the states we put everyyyything on popcorn. Caramel, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, anything sweet it’s been on popcorn!
ikr, that surprised me too! Literally one of the best things to do with popcorn is to put chocolate and caramel on it. (not me scrolling through all the comments after watching the video to see if anyone said something about this lol.)

@@cro1027 Ah so I wasn't alone in that. I had to do an elimination diet too years ago (Nowadays allowed gluten, but barely or no dairy or soy. Anyway, those crumbs were a huge no no back then. I'm not from Canada/USA, so don't recognise it: maybe she has a brand that's glutenfree?
My favorite part of this video was when everyone came in for dinner with the hotpot, chip was sitting at the table like “hello look what I made for you”
Awe Mia it's all about enjoying cooking and how the food tastes. Who cares if you chop an onion perfectly or cook something exactly right as long as it's fully cooked and tastes good!
How can Mia so perfectly ignore Stuarts awesome comment "I feel my skin getting better". Mia: "Anyways"!! Why Mia? Am I the only one loving Stuarts comment on the healthy smoothie and finding it hilarious? 😂😂
I thought the support was sweet. He actually processed her comments. People with long term relationships, how much of your partner's comments register anymore? I'll start with 80% but I have short term memory problems now so it gets knocked down to 50%.
For the toaster oven: There is a “stay on” mode if you turn the knob in the opposite direction of the timer, which is what you’d normally use for baking. Also, the door is warped. It should lay flush against the metal (there should be no gaps). But that doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just isn’t as efficient because it loses heat through those gaps.
Try blending the lettuce and the liquid first on its own so it breaks down more and then add your other stuff! That’s how I do it because I don’t have a high powered blender
You are for sure an honorary vegan... “A little bit of garlic.” Proceeds to add a whole bulb. Thank you for the meat warning and skip time. You are so kind and considerate. Such a queen 👑
I know all about the testing for food sensitivities. It took years of regular doctors and then finally a naturopath who figure out I have celiac. He did a blood test and put me on an elimination diet where I slowly reintroduced possible food sensitivities. I’ve been gluten free for 6 years and a little tummy pain is nothing(unless I eat gluten then it’s big yikes) compared to what it was before I was diagnosed. I wish you the best of luck on your food sensitivity journey once you figure it out the relief both mentally and physically being able to process nutrients better is incredible. It’s also so nice that you make your recipes gluten free as I can try them too!
OMG MIA!! IM DAIRY AND GLUTEN FREE TO BECAUSE IM TESTING FOR ALLERGIES!! btw i have something called EOE which means my body produces to many eosinophils in my esophagus making me have like stomach issues and stuff but hearing that you have to be dairy and gluten free to for a similar reason definitely makes me feel more normal thank you love your channel 🫶🏻🫰🏻💖
Same here but I have to avoid eggs and soy too! My GI said my esonophils are low now so that's good but now I'm battling IBS issues even more. Hoping to go to a nutritionist to I can actually eat a well rounded food for once.
Not gonna lie, as a Chinese-Canadian, I was initially a little worried about the hotpot when I saw Mia's ingredients but I'm so glad she & her family enjoyed their meal!! It turned out so well! Mia you should definitely try authentic hotpot one day 🥰
I watched Janelle eats (??) And they made some delicious looking authentic Hot Pot! I think one of the major things Mia was missing was *sauces!* He made them this mixture of sauces with a raw egg in a little bowl for each person to dip their food into.
hey mia, the hotpot looks soooo good. you dont need to strictly follow any recipes or worry about it being 'traditional', the only correct way to eat hotpot is that you enjoy yourself! just put in whatever you want, noodles, seasoning, cheese, cheesy tofu, sauce, etc... my roommates and i even put in plain mochi into our weekly hotpot. the more meat and stuff you put in, the more flavourful the broth will get. btw i really recommend you try tomato soup flavoured hotpot. its heavenly
You had me so confused…what is sourgum flour? It’s sorghum! (Sounds like sore gum) I didn’t know it was gluten free! Now I have a new flour to use 🥰this video was so much fun, I’m dying for hot pot now. 😋
actually sourgum flour is sour gum that mia chews, then spits it back out, throws it in the dehydrator and grinds into a powder with a mortar and pestle.
Hot pot is sooooo good! I was concerned when you made the noodles/broth on the stove instead of in the hotpot, but it turned out great! Glad your fam loved it!
My boyfriend's been eyeing an air fryer since before Covid. How does it broil? With a rack inside? Is dehydrate a separate function or do you have to marinate meats so that they don't dry out?
I have an air fryer, I just got it a few months ago, and I ABSOLUTELY love it. I have used my oven maybe 5 times since I got it and yesterday I got an instant pot. I took it home, figured out how to use it, and made bbq pulled pork that was fork tender in less than an hour. Tomorrow I will use it again to make chicken and dumplings. I’m seriously so excited because I have been wanting an instant pot for like 4 years now but don’t have a lot of money so $100 can be a lot to spend on something that isn’t a necessity. But boy am I glad I finally got one. If you’re reading this and don’t have one, do iiiiit!! Lol
Mia, just a note, dont just turn the air frier food into the plate, all the oil gets to the bottom, so if you turn It all the oil will get into your plate (you dont want that😅). Lov ur videos:))
I can relate with you getting better at cooking. I spent so much time in the kitchen during quarantine and was never bad at cooking and baking, but I’ve definitely improved a lot since then. I enjoy it a lot now and love challenging myself
As I am watching, I can literally feel Mia’s happiness and excitement on each day’s trial of those appliances, w/c is a super duper mood lifter!😊 thank you for these kinds of videos, Mia. And belated happy hatch day.🎂🎁 we love you.❤️
Yup. Any oven literally is cooking with heated air so an air fryer is literally just a gimmicky product. Toaster oven & regular oven does the same thing !
@Niphyra Look for a toaster oven with Convection. That means it has a fan to circulate the air. Just like an air fryer. I have a Panasonic Convection toaster oven and it is awesome! Very well insulated too.💙
I have an oven fryer and I use it all the time. I roasted a leg of lamb in it that came out so moist and tender, I've roasted pork in it, cooked steak fries, and vegetables. It is so versatile. I've lived in this house for 19 months and have never used the main oven and doubt I ever will.
Mia, thanks for being my serotonin boost. I just adore you and your family and your uplifting content. I was in a funk all day, today, and after watching your video, I feel happy and energized.
I LOVE making them and they are so easy. 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, one cup of self rising flour. Then a little egg wash and everything bagel seasoning. I cube up cream cheese to put inside mine.
@@missbizy uhm have you tried them? Their are some recipes that work and some that just do not. Also depending on the country you reside in. In Germany I have yet to find one that works. Many of them are made with bean protein which alas I cannot handle...

i love to make wings in my air fryer! just coat them with seasoning of your choice and fry for like 8 mins per side. Also, I think the cactus cuts would’ve worked a little better if you had them in a single layer, that’s usually pretty common for an air fryer. lmao at boston being a “state” 😂
Air fryer recipe I love: Parmesan garlic roasted potatoes or cauliflower! Chop potatoes or cauliflower I toss in a bit of olive oil, minced garlic, garlic salt, pepper, ranch seasoning, Italian seasoning, mix to coat, then sprinkle parmesan and mix to coat again. Then I roast them in the air fryer. Sooo good! Also I make pork schnitzel in the air fryer vs frying in oil. I tenderize and season my pork chops, coat in a thin layer of mayo (replaces egg and flour steps), then I coat in bread crumbs and air fry. A family favorite here!
I have both styles of air fryers. I use the one that is more like an oven the most. But, mine is also a dehydrator and use it to dry herbs and vegetables.
i’m not sure if you can have fish or if you like fish but air fried salmon with the skin on is sooooooo scrumdillyumptious. We usually do a honey/chili/garlic marinade/sauce thing and they caramelizes and the skin gets so crispy MM MM MM!
Toaster ovens are literally the best! Not to sound corny or weird but my mom gifted me one after I moved out for college and I cried cos I was so excited. They’re multifaceted and I love that!

I’m not much of a cook myself, and I ended up really loving watching you cook and make snacks in a laid back and satisfying manner. Those jump cut shots of chopping/prep! It was really fun. Thumbs up from me.
I think the kitchen lighting gives this video a nice homey, calm vibe. Its nice!
I agree!
My ten plus year relationship just ended and I am crying my eyes out watching this video, thank you Mia for giving me a little teeny tiny bit of happiness right now, I love you
Feel better soon, sending you love 💕
I’m so sorry you’re hurting right now. I know the pain of ending a 10 year relationship. Virtual hugs to you.
Wishing you strength. It’s hard but you will be ok, takes time. 💕
I’m so sorry, breakups suck. Sending you some love ❤️❤️ you’ll get through it. Keep doing things that give you moments of happiness.
Venessa, I am so sorry. Years ago the love of my life broke up with me after 10yrs (we'd just bought a house too!), because he couldn't deal with my health issues. I know the intense pain it can cause. I wish you many more happy moments and lots of support to get through this. Love, D from The Netherlands
If you new to this chanel:
Mia: always questioning if her videos are interesting for us
Us: YES!
Mia's fearlessness to try new things is my favorite thing about her
actually you got lucky that one side of the hotpot cooked less because youre not supposed to boil miso soup after adding the miso (because it turns bitter)
Good to know!
Also it kills all the probiotics and you loose a bunch of the health benefits
That's good to know!
Mia I’m so curious. Is your whole family, including Tate, living with you or is your house just the cool new hangout? It’s so cute seeing how close your relationship with your family is. Also I’ve never heard of hotpot and definitely want to try it now, thank you!
I’ve wondered this.
I think about this almost every other video! Also, they have two kitchens, I think???
Just had an idea. Could the mandolin be used to slice meat?
Only Mia would find beauty in a portobello mushroom ❤️ you are a light in this world, Mia!! Thank you for spreading it onto us!
Okay but Mia’s reaction to chip’s cute little whine “Chip can you wait one minute?” Then he does it again… SO RELATABLE. 😅
Try straining the juice after it’s blended to remove the lettuce chunks. You’d lose some vitamins, but maybe it’s be more palatable.
Those stained Silicone Baking Sheets get cleaned best when you put in the Dishwasher, Top rack, each time you use them. Also make a baking soda paste and scrub the sheet with it and let it sit. Also good quality dish soap, soak it in there (natural dish soaps don't clean well).
Thank you for posting this. Looking forward to using the advice.
Mia filming in no makeup and zit patches makes me love her even more!
honestly after doing an elimination diet last summer i really enjoy hearing mia mention her elimination diet progress, it's like we're in this together lol
Since the noodles you used in the video is pre-cooked noodles. You can heat the noodles with a wet paper towel cover on top and in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. The noodles will automatically separated
Mia I just wanted to say I think you are one of the most sweetest, humble and inspiring person on RUclips. Your channel is so entertaining, freaking hilarious and helpful! I adore your family and cant wait to see.your journey onto your own marriage. My family and I will always be some of your biggest fans!!! Side note, putting your hair up while cooking is a must! ( from one long hair gal to the next lol 😉 )
Mia you should have a cooking competition with someone in your family. Or prank your mom saying you ordered takeout but in fact you made the meals. Would be so much fun. Also love your videos 🤍🤍
I love Mama Maples a lot, she is always positive and complements Mia for all the effort she puts in all her creativity ideas. Mommy goals...
I couldn’t believe you and your mom had never heard of chocolate on popcorn! I feel like in the states we put everyyyything on popcorn. Caramel, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, anything sweet it’s been on popcorn!
and spicy!!! they started selling hot cheeto popcorn at the movie theaters now, if that wasn’t more american idk what is 😂
Exactly! My family does white chocolate popcorn, Chex, and pretzels every Christmas
ikr, that surprised me too! Literally one of the best things to do with popcorn is to put chocolate and caramel on it. (not me scrolling through all the comments after watching the video to see if anyone said something about this lol.)
As always Mia ,the video was amazing💓
Tip:when you are dipping something in egg and flour or something ,dip it in the egg with one hand and dip it in the flour with the other hand ,so it won't be messy ☺️
16:45 * pickle falls apart *
mia: yep that's gluten free
I laughed so hard like yes I understand 💀
All the likes are from poor glutenfree souls. I am at least, and yes everything crumbles like jeck.
Yes GF falls apart, but I’m confused why she used corn flakes crumb…are they gluten free?
@@cro1027corn flakes crumbs have barley so they're not gluten free
@@cro1027 I was thinking the same thing! maybe she doesn't realize they aren't gluten free?
@@cro1027 Ah so I wasn't alone in that. I had to do an elimination diet too years ago (Nowadays allowed gluten, but barely or no dairy or soy. I turned out allergic to several fruits as well and my IBS flares due to certain greens/veggies and drinks. Still, I always feel for you guys. Gluten is in freaking everything!). Anyway, those crumbs were a huge no no back then. I'm not from Canada/USA, so don't recognise it: maybe she has a brand that's glutenfree?
My favorite part of this video was when everyone came in for dinner with the hotpot, chip was sitting at the table like “hello look what I made for you”
Note on fried pickles: the round/pickle chips are way easier. The crumbs stick better and they’re tastier. 😋
Awe Mia it's all about enjoying cooking and how the food tastes. Who cares if you chop an onion perfectly or cook something exactly right as long as it's fully cooked and tastes good!
MIA! You walking in and saying this looks amazing and then your mom doing the same is so adorable 🥺
For the toaster oven:
There is a “stay on” mode if you turn the knob in the opposite direction of the timer, which is what you’d normally use for baking.
Also, the door is warped. It should lay flush against the metal (there should be no gaps). But that doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just isn’t as efficient because it loses heat through those gaps.
zwq
I love chip. His barking and interrupting make me happy because dogs don’t know about filming lol. So pure 💕
@@DJoy222 Yes definitely!! The sauces are one of the best parts about hotpot 😋
HOT POT IS SUPRIOR
Is it correct to make the broth in a pot on the stove and THEN transfer it to the pot? Or is it usually made in the hot pot?
Same
hey mia, the hotpot looks soooo good. you dont need to strictly follow any recipes or worry about it being 'traditional', the only correct way to eat hotpot is that you enjoy yourself! just put in whatever you want, noodles, seasoning, cheese, cheesy tofu, sauce, etc... my roommates and i even put in plain mochi into our weekly hotpot. the more meat and stuff you put in, the more flavourful the broth will get.
btw i really recommend you try tomato soup flavoured hotpot. its heavenly
You had me so confused…what is sourgum flour? It’s sorghum! (Sounds like sore gum) I didn’t know it was gluten free! Now I have a new flour to use 🥰this video was so much fun, I’m dying for hot pot now. 😋
That's because it's actually called sorghum flour ;)
@@OriginalRetrophiliac exactly!
It is pronounced sore gum or soar gum :)
actually sourgum flour is sour gum that mia chews, then spits it back out, throws it in the dehydrator and grinds into a powder with a mortar and pestle.
@@chswrkmn6508 😂😂
Hot pot is sooooo good! I was concerned when you made the noodles/broth on the stove instead of in the hotpot, but it turned out great! Glad your fam loved it!
I have an air fryer, but it also bakes, reheats, Dehydrates, and broils. It’s amazing and I literally don’t touch my oven anymore!
Totally agree. From personal experience, it’s disgusting
So are the high sides a con for scooping things out?
I can relate with you getting better at cooking. I spent so much time in the kitchen during quarantine and was never bad at cooking and baking, but I’ve definitely improved a lot since then. I enjoy it a lot now and love challenging myself
In Texas we call your style of cooking "cooking with your heart" and it's the only acceptable way!!
Honestly I love cooking with Mia, Stewart has it made for life with all these good recipes 😭😍
Mia the tray that you removed from the toaster oven, it fits at the very bottom so you can easily remove crumbs and other droppings :)
Life hack, line this with foil for even easier clean-up.
I just love how wholesome you are and can watch anything you film. 💚
As I am watching, I can literally feel Mia’s happiness and excitement on each day’s trial of those appliances, w/c is a super duper mood lifter!😊 thank you for these kinds of videos, Mia. And belated happy hatch day.🎂🎁 we love you.❤️
It brought me so much joy just watching you prep and eat the hot pot meal with your family 🥹
I love it when chip comes into frame he is just so cute lol ❤️
I swear, everyone has been sleeping on toaster ovens for years. They do the same thing as an air fryer. I cook literally everything in my toaster oven
Yuppers, the only stopping point is the size of the dish/pan.
Very well insulated too.💙
Can't wait to watch this video!! Love your videos Mia, and happy belated birthday!!
I have an oven fryer and I use it all the time. I roasted a leg of lamb in it that came out so moist and tender, I've roasted pork in it, cooked steak fries, and vegetables. It is so versatile. I've lived in this house for 19 months and have never used the main oven and doubt I ever will.
Hi! Hidden Valley now makes a dairy free ranch and it tastes like the real thing. Highly recommend. Hopefully its available in Canada too.
Omg +1 on the plant powered Hidden Valley!
Mia, thanks for being my serotonin boost. I just adore you and your family and your uplifting content. I was in a funk all day, today, and after watching your video, I feel happy and energized.
haven’t seen anyone comment this but YOGURT BAGELS!!! they’re literally home made air fryer bagels made from plain greek yogurt and flour!! so good.
Wait what omg that sounds amazing
I LOVE making them and they are so easy. 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, one cup of self rising flour. Then a little egg wash and everything bagel seasoning.
I cube up cream cheese to put inside mine.
Uhm you guys she is not eating gluten. Flour tends to be right on up there in the gluten department. Sadly...
@@emilyfroemel7622 there's gluten free flour. She used it on her fried pickles. Lol. And I was just commenting directly to Maia anyways.
@@missbizy uhm have you tried them? Their are some recipes that work and some that just do not. Also depending on the country you reside in. In Germany I have yet to find one that works. Many of them are made with bean protein which alas I cannot handle...
I love how both Mia and Mama Maples sing about how amazing the Hot Pot table looks 🤣🤣😍
As an ethnic Chinese it’s quite interesting to see foreigners eat hotpot in their own ways🤣 by the way if you want to try hotpot but afraid of too spicy, maybe should try the tomato soup or mushroom soup version
Love ur video & ur family's energy especially ur mom. So positive & cheerful. Love the way u dress. Modest & appropriate for all viewers
I love that Mia uploaded a video with her having zit stickers on her face! I don't know but this gives me such a positive vibe. A normal person living her normal life on RUclips, no filter just realness 🙌 And if you can't handle spice, the habanero wasn't needed lol. In our house we love meat in the Airfryer, it does a very good job on that! Loved this video, love cooking videos in general actually 🤗
I’m only 10 minutes in and I am so friggen proud of your cooking skills! You are 1 of a kind Mia; NEVER CHANGE, you were raised so well and that is very obvious 🥰
Cactus cuts isnt a term we use in the U.S. but we do eat potatoes that way. Boston pizza also not familiar with im live about 45 min from Boston so pretty sure i wouldve heard of it lol! I would assume its pizza made like we have in the New England area like New york style pizza. Loved this video Mia and your def becoming an incredible cook! Also baking is more a science there for calls for EXACT measurements with cooking you can play around with your measurements and ingredients.👏👏😘
Boston pizza is a restaurant chain in Canada.
We have Boston Pizza here in Vegas lol
I could literally watch your videos all day. You have such a beautiful energy and so does your whole family! I enjoyed this video so so much!
As a fellow fried pickle lover, I highly recommend doing pickle chips instead of spears, so much goodness 😍
Girl i watch your videos while i get ready in the morning. It takes about an hour so i go through plenty of them, i love love LOVE just listening to them, laughing with you and your mom, seeing all the beautiful clothes you try on, and the crazy clothes😂 the trips, the amazing things you do for other people, and more. You’re my favorite RUclipsr girl
i love to make wings in my air fryer! just coat them with seasoning of your choice and fry for like 8 mins per side. Also, I think the cactus cuts would’ve worked a little better if you had them in a single layer, that’s usually pretty common for an air fryer. lmao at boston being a “state” 😂
Air fryer recipe I love:
Parmesan garlic roasted potatoes or cauliflower!
Chop potatoes or cauliflower
I toss in a bit of olive oil, minced garlic, garlic salt, pepper, ranch seasoning, Italian seasoning, mix to coat, then sprinkle parmesan and mix to coat again.
Just what I needed after a stressful few days 🥰 I already know, this will be so entertaining! Hope you have a lovely day 🌻
Ur mom is legit the best hype man! A hype mom if u will ❤ shes amazing I live watching u both!
I have both styles of air fryers. I use the one that is more like an oven the most. But, mine is also a dehydrator and use it to dry herbs and vegetables.
I'm too lazy to even bother with cooking, but watching Mia cook is so relaxing 😂 I can't explain it but I love these videos
I had to LOL at Mia's dad saying - "This smells great!...What is it?" 🤣
i’m not sure if you can have fish or if you like fish but air fried salmon with the skin on is sooooooo scrumdillyumptious. We usually do a honey/chili/garlic marinade/sauce thing and they caramelizes and the skin gets so crispy MM MM MM!
Hi Mia! Your uploads have made my weekends so much more fun!! 💛💛
Toaster ovens are literally the best! Not to sound corny or weird but my mom gifted me one after I moved out for college and I cried cos I was so excited. They’re multifaceted and I love that!
