@@MiaMaplesthe comment above mine.. About the armpit hair.. you should try it again and shave both armpit every day and do the treatment on one.. And then grow it out for a week so we can see if there's a difference.
For those considering a lifting recliner chair for elderly with mobility issues - a leather/vinyl fabric is better than the velour Mia purchased. Both for reasons of potential incontinence (easy clean up) and because a smooth fabric means less friction getting in/out of the chair.
I have watched this channel for years and I think it's really funny and wholesome how much confidence Mia has now compared to before! Showing her unshaven armpithair and trying to get a cameltoe going on camera was NEVER gonna happen a few years ago. I just love the fact that she is so comfortable that her community wouldn't show hate for stuff like that and instead we just love her quirky side and personality and lift her up for being real with us! ❤
I love that now you are not only educating your audience about sustainability and being smart consumers, but you’re also encouraging accessibility? I love you so much ❤
About the armchair with the getting up function: Seriously if your looking for an expensive gift for your grandparents or elderly parents, get them a nice motorized chair. They will actually use it (if you put in front of the TV) and it can give back so much quality of life and comfort.
My grandparents have this chair they have two of them so that they can both watch TV, and honestly, I had a great time sitting on that chair. It was great. I loved the massage and the heat. Might consider buying one for myself.
Another good one for anyone to keep in mind are medical bathtub chairs. The ones we have for my mil is a sliding chair that allows her to get in and out of the tub from the outside since there's no walk in where we live. It also turns to face outwards one in either direction depending on which side you need to face it, turns to face the faucet once in the tub, and seat belt and arm bars to help prevent falls. Those types of medical items can also get really pricy and while it may be a practical gift it's still a really good one. Many elders can't afford it and many insurances won't cover it. And a lot of times an elder being able to maintain their own hygiene with or without assistance tends to help them also maintain mobility longer.
@@cheryl-lynnmehring8606 Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair. The one I found I think is a newer model even because the arm bars also swing upwards if you need them too which ours I don't believe do that. They may but we've never had a need to attempt to use that function if they do lol. But you'll want to look at things like weight capacity, the type of medical grade materials they use, stability options as well as durability.. that sort of thing. I've seen cheaper versions of what look like the same chair on Google from Amazon, but I'm unsure if those are legit the same exact item or if they're actual cheaper dupes that won't be as good of a quality. We've had ours for several years now and they still function well with zero damage or disfuntion to any component of the chair. And it will last for many more years to come. If we get to a point where we no longer need both of ours we will likely donate one of them for someone else to get use of.
Umm I just wanted to correct Mia, just so ppl aren’t confused. The 93% less hair after week 4 is not referring to the treated area having 93% less hair on 4 weeks, but that out of x amount of ppl (they didn’t say how many) 93% out of ppl *in total* saw hair reduction after 4 weeks. With some starting around 2 weeks. I’m just clarifying what they said, but in order to see a dramatic decrease of hair it’s more like 6 months to a year. So yeah, it’s only for those who r constant. Just a tip tho, if ur hair is still stubborn (too thick) keep doing on/off days until it lessens, don’t do ‘one time a week’ yet. That is more for maintenance after desired results.
@@ceecee3181 Yeah, I felt like I had to clarify otherwise it sounds like they r scammy & gimmicky when it (IPL) really does work, but just weaker & slower than traditional hair removal at a clinic.
Im a CNA at a nursing home and those chairs are SO useful. So many residents struggle getting out from their recliners and these make a significant difference in their lives
As a disabled woman I wanted to say how much I am so thankful to you for including a product for us in this despite you not being disabled. Most people don't include us in this stuff if they're not disabled which I kind of understand. But I appreciate when people who aren't disabled think of us
Mia, I think it's so sweet you tried the stand up chair! When my Gran was struggling with pain from chemotherapy these chairs were a lifesaver and I used to sleep on the chair next to her in her last days (can confirm very cozy) . Importantly folks, if you do know a cancer patient that could use these chairs to help, lots of cancer charities will loan you one!
My Nana had a chair very similar to that for years before she passed away, and it was so helpful for her when she could still walk on her own, but also helpful for us when she wasn't able do things by herself anymore. They are wonderful to help them keep their independence, so thank you for bringing more attention to them! 🤗💚
I used so many thing over the years to get rid of my dark unwanted hairs. Ulike changed my life. I used it for couple of months and now I can wear whatever I want as I’m officially hair free
16:50 $469.99 for a motorized lift recliner chair is an *extremely* economical price in the U.S. (I live in California). Heck, even $960 would be economical for that type of chair. For that reason, I'd be concerned about how long it would last, but also for that reason, it's worth taking the chance.
I can vouch for that. When my dad (6'4") broke his hip and my mom (5"6') had no hope of getting him up from chairs we bought him one of the lift chairs. I went looking for one that would be long enough for him since he's so tall, and I will admit that the one we bought was larger. But we paid close to $900 in Mississippi and that was with me getting a deal in the summer of 2020 due to desperation from the sales guy!
Yes Mia!! Keep updating us on the light hair removal device! I’ve been considering buying it, perhaps on Black Friday, since it’s so expensive, and I very much trust your opinion 😊
I have it and absolutely love it!! I'm very hairy and it has made a massive difference! The only thing I will say is she probably would have noticed a bigger difference if she had used a higher setting, the armpits and legs usually need the higher setting. The lowest one is for like your face. But 100% it was the best purchase I have ever made, I hate shaving and get razor burn so this is a life saverr
I second this! I have this device and I love it! But I use the highest setting on the stubborn armpit hair. And after 6 weeks it’s reduced by almost half and grows back so slow. I highly recommend it!
I have the same device too. Armpits, legs and arm hairs are nearly gone and the regrowth is so slow. It's a bit pricey but worth it. Bought some months ago before summer
Thank you Mia for not only creating trustworthy reviews but also for helping me and others smile with your personality. I was having a rough day and seeing you with the chair made me laugh. Thank you so much 💛💛

My Grandmom slept in hers, too. It was truly a godsend for her and helped to keep her mobile for much longer than she would have been able to otherwise.

One thing I find that helps for the IPL machine would be a white eye liner pencil to make a grid on your leg to know where you start and end, white so it doesn't pull the light in with it's pigment since you want to attack the hair follicle. I do that with the laser machine at my work (esthetician) when doing bigger body part so I can keep track! :)
I am a young(ish) woman and a dialysis patient. If i had that chair during treatment, it would make a horrible experience a bit easier to manage. girlllll. i dont know a ton about waxin. but u def dont want your hair to be super long when youre waxing. just long enough for the wax to grip onto it. andddd they make numbing spray/cream for those painful areas!
I use the ULike IPL remover. I have fair skin and black hair. Within the first 2 weeks itself, the results have been tremendous. As someone with PCOS, this has been such a huge help.
Miaaaaaaaaaa! Warm your wax more, spin the stick like your life depends on it, put it on in the direction of hair growth. IF your strip doesnt have a tab, put a small square on your inner forearm, wait for it to dry and put the top side (that didn't touch your arm) onto the wax facing up so it works as another tab. Your esthetician friend ♥
The IPL, I bought a Phillips one over a decade one. Used it on one leg and not the other for a few months. Then forgot all about it. My right leg, TO THIS DAY, has far more sparse hair. IPL definitely works but I would go with the bigger brands, like Phillips. They're pricey but have better tech.
I've been using that Ulike one since Christmas and have found it works really well - I've not completely gotten rid of the hair with it, underarms and bikini are really stubborn - but it has slowed down growth considerably and also stopped those horrid goosebumps that happen a day or two after shaving - I think its definitely worth the splurge. Also, when I was still getting waxed I always used that kind of wax on my sensitive bits, it's much nicer than normal wax. However, I think you might need to turn up the temperature a bit so it's less viscous!
Yeah, even with professional treatment (at least 4 weeks between each session) it would take around 8 - 9 sessions for underarm, bikini and chin (hormonal hair growth), so a good 10 months, for all hair to be permanently gone.
To speak on FlexiSpot -- that's where I ordered my desk chair and standing desk from earlier this year and I LOVE it. I've had absolutely zero issues and it was pretty affordable.

I have an old philips laser hair removal device and it still works wonders, not to mention the difference is super visible. You only get a couple of hairs grow back when you use it properly :)
Yeah my issue with those appliances is that they say exactly how many "flashes" are available per unit, and I'm like, okay but that's pricey for an appliance that only works for a preset amount of times. Did yours have a limited number of flashes?
@@jellycatfish Every device will have a limited number of flashes because that's just the nature of any device like that - a brand that actually reports that number (which will always be approximate) is actually more trustworthy IMO as it shows they've done enough testing to figure out its expected lifespan. Most that I've seen though will last *way* more than you'd ever need them to - like, it only takes around 8 flashes on each armpit for me, somewhere between 200-300 flashes to do most of my body (excluding back + face), and typical treatment with these devices is 2-3 times a week for 6-12 weeks and then every 1-3 months for maintenance. So 300 flashes 3 times a week for 12 weeks, the max I think most people would want, is still only 10,800 flashes, nowhere near any of the >100k flashes I've seen reported by any major brand.
i love how u do these videos. you are amazing and always disclose things... you are awesome and i love to see that sometimes things are actually good lol.. and you are so transparent about why things havent worked out. please keep up the amazing work. u deserve 10 mil

He passed away early in august and I miss him very much. Glad to know couches like these exists for the elderly or people with any disabilities or difficulties ❤
What people should know about hair is that it grows in many cycles, so there is no time where all our hair is in the "growing phase" and it takes (as far as I know) about 1 to 2 months to get through all these cycles once. So 93% in 4 weeks is literally IMPOSSIBLE. Also IPL only works on dark hair with light skin because there nees to be a contrast plus the light travels via the melanin in our hair. Which red, blonde and grey hair don't have, so it wontwork on there hair colors :) Hope this helped some of you

one thing that sucks about leather is how it reacts to temperarure - so hot in summer
@@kamifoltek2345 The chair has temperature settings. So it should fine, right?
@@outofashes-o- No. It's likely only heat to go with massage/for muscle aches and pain.

Yes!!!! My grandma has one. She has little to no balance can hardly walk on her own. The one she uses is. Great!! So helpful
@alosialee What is it called? I want to look into it. We just got one of those bathtub benches for my sister because she hurt her leg.
Thanks for clarifying the meaning of the %! That's super helpful and makes way more sense!
@@ceecee3181 Yeah, I felt like I had to clarify otherwise it sounds like they r scammy & gimmicky when it (IPL) really does work, but just weaker & slower than traditional hair removal at a clinic.
I think they have purposley worded it in this manor to make people think it means 93 overall less
do you have to do it continuously (maintenance) once the hair stops growing in?? or can you stop until it starts to return?
Im a CNA at a nursing home and those chairs are SO useful. So many residents struggle getting out from their recliners and these make a significant difference in their lives

I literally love how many comments I’m reading about the chair. How people got them for the grandparents, and a few sweet grandpa memories. Thanks Mia
"armpit haul!" was hilarious. Thank you Mia for your silly experiments!
That’s exactly what I thought! My grandpa needed one and we found one at an estate sale that cost just as much as this one does brand new!
Yes Mia!! Keep updating us on the light hair removal device! I’ve been considering buying it, perhaps on Black Friday, since it’s so expensive, and I very much trust your opinion 😊
Yes same ! I need her to get back to us in a few months of consistently using it
I have it and absolutely love it!!
I personally use a cheaper one and it works well, there is no need to pay that price imho. I got if few years ago andI'm quite happy with it!
I have the same device too. Armpits, legs and arm hairs are nearly gone and the regrowth is so slow. It's a bit pricey but worth it. Bought some months ago before summer

My Grandmom slept in hers, too. It was truly a godsend for her and helped to keep her mobile for much longer than she would have been able to otherwise.

Yea that’s what I was thinking! If Mia was using it on the lowest setting throughout the 4 weeks, those results are actually pretty impressive!
Yes! The lowest setting will take forever.
When it comes to IPL laser treatment, if it doesn't hurt it's probably not working (at least not much). The professional treatment I got used a cooling gel and it still hurt quite a bit depending on the area. Super effective though.

I have the Philips one as well..I've also noticed that u use the Philips one different than this one Mia is using
And you need to shave before using.
This hair color looks so good on you. It's a little bit darker and your features are popping.

I was wondering about the same, if we use even a bit less expensive product for a long time do they work or not.

Which red, blonde and grey hair don't have, so it wontwork on there hair colors :)
Hope this helped some of you
