Yes, having been lucky enough to have the Cambridge experience too, this resonated very much with me. One thing I often say about what I got from Cambridge, outside the formal study, was the ability to have dinner table conversation about almost anything. It’s an intense environment and experience, but I appreciate it a lot more years down the line. Love the channel.
Some very good points! especially that 'Learn how to learn' section. I kinda miss the drive I had in school to learn things within a set deadline because I was forced to get it done but what I don't miss is learning things that didn't matter to me. Giving yourself deadlines and sticking to them is a hard skill to master 😔
I resonate very deeply with the second point. Im a GP and in med school i had to daily digest a huge quantity of new informations and somehow make sense of the ones I already stored. In the heart of it I couldn't see that it made me learn how to learn, but also made me an addict to learning.
I paused the video just before you mentioned learning 1000 words in Spanish. Three years ago I learned and memorized 14.000 words in Dutch, " just to see if it was possible ".
Good to hear Cambridge was so rigorous! With the "learning new skills" part, it's helpful to have an accountability friend as well, someone who's learning with you and who won't let you get away with things.
Looking for this man's origin story to see the full picture of his character and perhaps to clear my conscious if he has alterior motives. So far you are very consistent in your reasonable character 👍 So glad I found this channel
I was so eager to get into Cambridge to study history and philosophy, but I made a foolish error in my history exam, which brought my overall grade down to a B.

hey i have a few questions im applying to Cambridge University this year, do you mind helping me out? Btw i recently came across your channel and i love the content you create its exactly what was missing on RUclips, you've definitely gotten a subscriber no matter what!
Please help me with the learning how to learn. I am struggling so much at uni. I spend 50+ hours studying a week. Idk how to deal with such a big amount of readings mostly.
Oh yes I had to remove the original link because the website had broken, but I have a replacement (now in the description and here forallx.openlogicproject.org/)
Hey! Just noticed you removed one old video of yours - "The most misunderstood logical fallacy - Think like a Cambridge student". If it became unapropriate in some sense I won't argue but can you tell what it was about at least? I remember it was kinda important...

It is really hard to be fair! And you make excellent points. It’s why I prefer learning things as an adult - you get to pick what you learn
