    Today I'm making a third, and maybe final Record Player Console, which could be slightly altered and used as a TV Stand for those interested. This is another Mid Century Modern inspired piece, maybe a little less modern and a little more Mid Century.

    Chris, your videos are my favorite woodworking videos on the web. At the same time I get depressed watching them. As an aspiring weekend woodworker with little time and skill, some of these projects look rediclously out of reach. Keep it up. You do amazing work. Do the commissions, just double your price.

    • @Foureyes.Furniture
      @Foureyes.Furniture  5 лет назад +21

      Thanks Anthony just look at it piece by piece. I often do these larger projects over the course of 3 weekends with nights mixed in here and there. I know the videos make it look like it takes 3 hours... but you can definitely accomplish this kind of stuff while working full time.

    I am glad to hear that you have found this book to be very informative and helpful for your woodworking project ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO It sounds like you are well prepared and confident to build furniture for your house. I commend you and your friend for your enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things from this book. I hope you enjoy your woodworking journey and create some beautiful pieces.

    AHHH! Now I understand why i like your videos so much. Its the audio. You don't have narrative while you're working - you add it in post production. This is exceptional and I think I will do the same for my videos going forward. Excellent videos - keep them coming.

    Look, I don't want to gush, but… I worked at RUclips from 2010 to 2017 and I'm pretty well versed in what it has to offer. And I watch way more woodworking videos than is probably healthy. But your videos are the ones I look forward to most, and when I see a new one pop up I pretty much stop what I'm doing and watch it through. Sometimes twice. You do great work and you make great videos. Thanks for both of those things.

Well done. Looking forward to the scarf discussion.

    Your videos are always so relaxing! Do you think you could do a build where you only use pine? Ive always though pine was ugly and hard to work with but I saw a cradenza made entirely out of it and it looked really good! It was only given a protective coat, no stain so that the natural look and color of pine was maintained. I thought that was dope. I wanna see YOU do it! (if you have time :)

    • @emilylindstrom724
      @emilylindstrom724 5 лет назад +2

      I agree that would be nice to see as pine is inexpensive and soft to work with. I think a lot of the ugly with pine is people buying builder grade lumber and then finishing it with an oil that makes it that unpleasing yellow color.

    Interesting. Doing a joinery apprenticeship in the nineties, I pointed the owner to some fancy hardwood furniture with custom aluminium castings, and asked why we didn't make that kind of thing. He replied: "It takes so much time, the people doing that and getting in magazines make pin money". He mainly built bars and fitted kitchens.

    Love the way that chamfer turned out on the base. I know it may not line up with your aesthetic which tends to be very clean and simple (I like that too) a classic touch would have been to run a bead or some reeding along the bottom of the "Straprons". a blank surface tends to be "slippery" to the eyes in my experience and a detail there would hold the eye and draw it along the sweep of the cabinet. Plus, this gives you an excuse to use a scratch stock which is just silly amounts of fun in my opinion. Food for thought anyways and totally unnecessary as that turned out great. Great woodworking and great video as always.
