Mark, after watching half of this one-think you were irresponsible to post Glow's interview. She is too vulnerable& fragile to be exposed like this. She is so broken from trauma& ptsd that she needs a professional to talk about this.Trust me I know that she needs professional help.i have been there.i have watched many of your videos& I see the positiveness in them-but I feel Glow is being abused, used all over again by you posting this.this one crossed the line.this can not help her.she will be even more fragile when she leaves.i wish more could be done for her.Is there any agency you could take her to...to receive counseling.hope the next time someone this fragile comes along-after the interview you will have better insight whether to post it or not.praying Glow gets help ASAP.Thank you for listening to my opinion.thank you for those you do help.

Lynn Gold Your point is definitely valid and worth considering, however I should mention that Glow has asked me more than once when she can come back to do another talk with me. She even joined a gym a day after this was shot. I’m not saying she’s cured or anything close to that, but the fact that she seemed to move in a positive direction afterwards supports what I believe, which is that by unearthing these hidden painful things from our minds we free ourselves up to choose differently in the future. To keep them in the closet gives them power over us. Thank you for your concern for Glow. I’m very aware that she is more fragile than most.

@@SoftWhiteUnderbelly thank you giving an update, Mark. I've also felt conflicted about how vulnerable Glow is in this video. I've learned from her and from other people commenting, too.
I guess that's just how powerful and incredible Glow is when she tells her story to you, it draws out all these emotions from us.

@@SoftWhiteUnderbelly It says more about the people that can't watch this, it is their feelings they are trying to protect. This is hard to watch. But the abuse isn't Mark posting this. The abuse is from the abusers who did this to her. And society who allows this to continue to happen. From her step fathers to the other men and women who have abused her. Shining a light on this is the first step for society and the abused to heal.

I felt it drop like a stone in my gut. That was my way of surviving in a really traumatic time in my life. "It's not happening. He didn't mean it. I'm good." I can operate so well while enduring terrible trauma, and it's so hard to leave because the moment you get out is when you really have to deal with it.

    • @amyimogenimagine
      @amyimogenimagine 4 года назад +32

If you ignore it, sure you can pretend it never happened. But it’s stored in your body and your unconscious. It still triggers you, and manifests in life and your decision making. Processing trauma (correctly) frees you. I am not the person I am today, after healing, as the person I was prior. I can dream and move forward in confidence and with love in the world.
The reality is that no therapist can heal you. They can only give you the space and the tools to do so. The real work is by yourself. Luckily, today, more free information is available.
You need to break the generational cycles of trauma. When people don’t deal; you inflict that pain outwardly into the world. That energy is transferred.

I agree, just something about her is very genuine , sure she has made bad choices to be where shes at but you have to look at all of the things that have happened in her life that would lead to those bad choices. if things had been different she could have had a completely different life. I think about that often with my own wife, she grew up in a very rough way, somehow she came out like the complete opposite of her mother and is a better person than me by far. but I always think about what a tragedy it would have been if she had just made a couple bad choices and gone the other direction, noone would ever have know what kind of amazing trustworthy strong person she could have been.

Same here. Of all of the people featured on this channel that I have had the chance to watch, this lady is my favorite. I have only watched the first 7 minutes as I write this..but she seems so nice and sincere. She doesn't seem like she is trying to get one over on anyone or anything like that. She seems like a nice person who grew up in a messed up situation and didn't stand a chance from day one. Twelve stepdads? That is absolutely insane. How are you normal when your mother sets that kind of example? I am very surprised this lady is so nice and relatively normal for someone in this type of situation. I wish her nothing but the best.

Hope...? She needs...no, deserves more than hope.
This is one of the very very few that have done these videos that is true whole heartedly, broken and self destructive which is why she keeps getting herself into those situations. But, she's a rare one as she's still so sweet, kind, well mannered and still has a heart of gold. She meant every word she spoke. And some people that do these vids you can see if you are looking properly when they fall in and out of the story they're telling ..U know what i mean? Or when their rage fires up or when they're exaggerating their story.... This one, none of that. Completely truthful and very very real. She'd help anyone tho she meant that... she loves with her whole self and I pray she finally gets the break she really deserves. But I really pray that when she does, she learns and never lets anything like that happen to her again.

I get the feeling a lot of people want something more polished and controlled by the interviewer that will give them a cleaner ending and a feeling "everything is okay". That the video will end and someone will come and take control and fix everything. Like a tv show/Disney movie. All neat and tidy and safe. So they complain the person being interviewed is being used or exploited but the reality is the viewer is uncomfortable and wants to blame someone rather than look and see just how hopeless life can really be.

    Hi Mark,
I’m actually super concerned about Glow. She shared such a powerful story that clearly has not been opened up since the events occurred in her life. What concerns me is the evident lack of mental health resources for her. I’m not sure if you were able to bring her to a therapist or had a mental health professional on site, but it’s super important for when people open up (especially open up about something that’s been repressed for so long) that they are able to be closed back up. So that they don’t go back into the world with exposed open wounds! I know it’s expensive but if there’s a go fund me for cases like these who are in dire need for therapy, please let us know so we can donate. Thanks!

It means we were rewarded by making the correct decision for us at the time. Now if you choose the wrong decision you're also rewarded with with all things associated with being irresponsible. the only way you can have success in your life is to be responsible and make the correct decision and if you have the inability to do that then you lose.

I doubt her story is fake. The person who posted could have been the liar. One reason why i think its not fake is because in the begining she said her childhood was wonderful, and then as she went on speaking, that's when she really started to share her story and while recalling traumatic incidents, you can see the discomfort she is in. She'd have to be one heck of an actor to lie this well. Had she been a liar, she would have not made that comment about her childhood being a good one.. She would have been more likely to say it was horrible from the get go. Anyway, I just think it's rude to make a statement such as her story is fake when she is clearly in such a sad situation.

When my daughter was 8 months old, we were at the hospital with her lungs. There was a 4-year-old girl who had a fever and she was from foster care, she was all alone. In the nights her fever got worse and she cried, I went to her and tried to calm her. Immediately she started to call me mom. Another day her real mom came, she was so big and scary and I think she was under some drugs. Anna was so scared, started to cry and hide her behind my back. In the nights, she sat exactly like this woman and swung her backward and forward. I was a single mom, I did not have the possibility to help her and take her with me. Until today I am thinking about this girl and I wish I could have done something. Nobody should be alone!
I have gone through depression and anxiety, and I just realized that it is NOTHING. My life has been beautiful, I have had a privileged life. I just watch her sitting there and I would like to give her a hug, to tell her, it is going to be alright, you will get well soon. Not everyone can, and I would in an instant get her into a place she could get off the addictive shit, then give her somewhere she can calm and get good counseling, fix hersrlf physically and stop being afraid.

It is pouring down outside which woke my 3 year old son up so he just came & got in with me & let me tell u i have never felt more blessed to be safe & warm in my bed with my child snuggled next to me. I will never complain about anything again! God help these poor souls!

Her voice is so calm and sweet, it doesn’t feel real that someone with such a terrible story could remain gentle and positive. I just wanted to hug her so bad. I think this interview could’ve helped her relieve her soul even just a little. She just needs a break and a chance.

To listen to her and know she is a homeless woman on skid row, probably looked at by people walking by like a crazy drug addict that chose to live this "low-life." It's purely cruel how this country is and to judge without knowing people's stories. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Thank you for creating this channel to show the reality of people less fortunate. 🙏🏽

The flower that's picked off it's branch for a moment of its pleasantness. To the picker, the moment is a fleeting nicety. To the flower, it's served its purpose and has nothing left to do but wilt.
