    I got to tell you that product is a must have for any detailer. My only question is how do you store the pads properly?

    You're missing the piece that snaps into the 2 holes on the grit guard itself. It's a raised plastic piece that you rotate the pad over. Might want to check on that.

    If you do not have one of those pad cleaners, How do you recommend cleaning your pads?

    Audio is on one channel only and that reversing noise is damned annoying.

    Cool enough, but you said it pumps off the bottom. Isn't that where all the gunk from the washing would be or are the pickup tubes up high enough to prevent this? Yeah, I know this is a post from 2012

    Cool. So can you just keep cleaning your pad as you go around your car? Do you have to switch out the water or is it good enough for the whole project?

    You can change the water at the end of the day, We have actually clean over 50 pads without having to change the fluid :-)

    We choose not to use that piece. We feel it cleans the pads better and remove that piece. That little piece if for cleaning the center of the pad. We dont like to use that piece at Smart Detailing University so we just throw it away :-).

    Are you and/or should you supposed to wash your pads polishing let's say half a car? I have an yukonxl and I used the orange pad and it got dirty in the middle of the pad.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 лет назад

      Hi Tom, thanks for watching our video. Did you clean the car prior to polishing? The pad is washed after you finish polishing the entire vehicle. From time to time, you will have to spray the pad with pad conditioner so that the pad stay lubricated. Once you finish polishing, you can clean the pad, and use it for when you have to polish again.

    Seriously, how do you clean a hex logic pad properly without the $160 investment in a "Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer". This is way out of my budget.

    • @midrange18
      @midrange18 10 лет назад +1

      Exactly! I'm not about to spend that money at this time. How can someone on low budget clean their pads!

    • @LJRossPhoto
      @LJRossPhoto 9 лет назад +2

      If a pad costs $8, I could buy 20 new pads for the price of this special bucket.

    • @zclary923
      @zclary923 9 лет назад

      Jake L Simply buy a grit guard seperate. Use something like a piece of wood to wedge between the grit guard and the bucket so it sits higher up in the bucket. Fill it with just enough water and clean your pads. That bucket is massively overpriced.

    • @MichaelSorrentino1
      @MichaelSorrentino1 9 лет назад

      Jake L You can get the chemical guys pad cleaner and put some of that in your kitchen sink that is filled with warm water. Put the pad(s) in the warm water for like 10 minutes and then either use your hands or a pad brush that CG also sells to get whatever polish that is stuck in your pad. It might not be as effective as this bucket but it will work for a lot cheaper.

    • @jayc4283
      @jayc4283 6 лет назад

      just soak it in the sink for an hour with a good squirt of dish soap, squeeze out the pad, drain and repeat once and rinse. clean as new.

    to be honest once you become a pro detailer then all these things will make a big difference in your time.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 лет назад +1

      Agreed! Detailing is a time consuming process, that requires time, tools, expertise, and research. Maintaining your tools is very essential though, we get asked about that a lot.

    Wow $125.00 for plastic (does NOT include caster for bucket)? How about $50 -$70. Also 115 volts AC and water. Not safe without CGIF protection. You guys need to talk to Grit Guard and do something about pricing. For the DIY customer it's not cost effective; for a PRO or shop it does. It does do a great job fast.
