There are only a few chapters out of the manga that revolve around that premise. Someone translated a few of those chapters specifically on reddit but they quit before Akainu's character gets introduced in the third part.
While I love the idea of Sakazuki being Hibari’s father (he could also be her Uncle) & here is a fun fact both Ashura Doji & Tama both speak with with a dialect from the region called Kagoshima
Another subtle point could be when Sakazuki intercepted Kuma before he warped away and thinking about what Kuma could be driven by. If both are single parent dads with a daughter it’s something he would be aware of.

What if Kuzan decided to freeze Hibari to protect her? Her dialect is very unique and since the BB pirates were present at Marineford they would know Sakazuki also has the same speech pattern. Maybe Kuzan did not want them to connect the dots here.

Kuzan freezing Hibari first on Hachinosu makes perfect sense even if he's not doing it out of pettiness. Having the fleet admiral's daughter as a hostage would give the bb pirates even more leverage against the Marines
I can imagine Akainu giving Koby a series of impossible challenges to win his daughter's hand, which he succeeds in causing the Fleet Admiral to decide on a final test of fighting him.

If Hibari's mother is still alive, here's an interesting possibility. What if her mother is Kujaku? They both have the same hair and eye color, and when Hibari was frozen in Chapter 1081, the only other member of Sword whose reaction got focused on (besides Garp and Koby), is Kujaku's, who had the strongest reaction next to Koby's. Of all the other Sword members, why was her reaction the one that we got to see alongside Koby and Garp's, unless Hibari is somene important to Kujaku? Also, when she called out Hibari's name she didn't use any honorifics like Koby did (he called her Hibari-san), hinting at a sense of familiarity between the two, which you usually only see between family members or close friends. At the very least this could hint at a familial connection between them, on top of Kujaku being one that was caring for Hibari while she thawed out. If Kujaku is the mother of Hibari and wife of Akainu, there's a bit poetic irony there. Akainu's hated rival Aokiji has a codename based on a bird, Blue Pheasant, yet he ends up marrying a woman named after a bird as well, Kujaku meaning Peacock.
@friedareiss8919 It's been theorized that Akainu also is, or was, a member of Sword, due to his sword tattoo. Depending on how long Sword has been around, Akainu and Kujaku could have first met through Sword when they were both members, leading to them falling in love. It would explain why Akainu is seemingly okay with his daughter going off on these dangerous missions. Because mom is there with her.
Isn't Kujaku too young to be Hibari's Mother? Even if Kujaku gave birth when she was 18, she would have to be 36 right now and she is definitely not 36.

We can't really judge her age by her looks. There are plenty of characters in One Piece in their 40's, 50's, and 60's who look way younger than they are and could pass for someone in their 20's or 30's.

Plus the average age at which Japanese woman have grandkids is like 50 so the timeline doesn't line up assuming that Hibari is like 16-20 since Koby is 18. Another thing is that most of sword's age is similar to each other with Grus and Kujaku being seemingly slightly older than Koby, Helmeppo and Hibari due to their higher rank and stronger strength.

The main issue with this theory, which I later realized, is not with Kujaku, but with Akainu. Akainu is currently 55. If Kujaku is currently 36, then that's a pretty big age gap between them, which would make things kind of weird. Has Oda ever really been one to do relationships with big age gaps like that? If Akainu is not Hibari's father, Kujaku being her mother works out just fine, but if he is her father, it still technically works, it would just be kind of weird. Another possibility that could work is if instead of being Akainu's daughter, HIbari is his grand-daughter, while Kujaku is Akainu's daughter, Akainu having married Tsuru's daughter. As you said, the average age for Japanese having grandkids is around 50, and Akainu is in his 50's. As for why his granddaughter Hibari talks like him but his daughter Kujaku doesn't, maybe Kujaku was rebellious and didn't want to be like her father, taking more after her mother, while her daughter went in the opposite direction and took more after her grandfather.

I'm a big fan of this head cannon. So much of op fanon is luffy is the next Roger who was the next joyboy. Vivi is the next Lili. Teach is the next Rox. Ect ect. Hibari could stand in direct contrast to that idea. To have her stand in direct contrast to her own legacy as a truly free person. Because if all your characters do is repeat the actions of others, are any of them truly free.

SO maybe AKainu is like Dracula from Catlevania, Starts off evil( or in akainus case chatotic good) but then meets a women who humanizes him, helps him see the world in a different way, but then once shes bruttaly murdered, they reset back to how they were, but then at the end of their story they snap once more as they realize the effect of their actions. For dracula this moment was when he almost killed his son, maybe Akianu will have a similar moment when he tries to kill coby again, but ends up nearly killing hibari instead, its then he realizes how far hes fallen
ive been 100% convinced since first seeing the theory. the dialect, how perfect it would be for akainu's daughter to fall for the guy he tried to kill, the fact that akainu's backstory is right around the corner so hibari could have been introduced just to set the stage for that. it all feels intentionally set up for that reveal.
I'm glad you thought of this too! When I was watching that scene with Akainu on the dock, I came to realize I never considered if any of the admirals had families or kids. Then Hibari comes up n chats with Koby and man, I was happy to see the interaction finally. Koby's grown so mich over this show. Can't wait to see his story arc reach a peak in Elbaf. I bet it'll be Sword and the revolutionaries being forced to fight together with the Elbafian giants against Blackbeard, followed by a poneglyph sketching for Robin and an army of 8,000 strong for Usopp. Anyway, Kobi's come a long way and he deserved a lady, so I realized that Akainu's flower shirt and tattoos were similar in color to Hibari's outfit. I really hope she turns out to be Akainu's. It'll be funny to see!

A bigger point on the pettiness question: think about the pettiness of some of the rest of the Blackbeard pirates for a second. Would it really make sense trying to fit into such a crew without doing the obvious petty thing that, say, Burgess, Pizarro, Vasco or Devon might do in Aokiji's shoes?
I hadn't even thought of that one. But yeah, if you are trying to blend into that crew, being petty is the way to go. They'd even laugh about it after the battle.
Speaking of headcanons in regards to Sakazuki I believe that he like Rocinante Doflamingo was adopted a high ranking naval officer which I think is Garp's right-hand Bogard which explains Sakazuki's past with Dragon.
I think Kuzan was just being very smart about who he froze... he KNEW that if he froze Hibari, there was no way in Hell Koby would just leave her behind. And he also knew, as you pointed out yourself, that freezing Garp most likely would be pointless. But freezing Hibari not only stops everybody else in their tracks as well, it also takes out an opponent who for sure won't be able to get herself out of it. But lets be real, if he froze Helmeppo, ain't no way we all stopping to save his dumb ***. Should've been keeping his head on a swivel and not gotten caught by surprise... lol
Hold up, that "power of volcano inside me" gave me a pause. I don't know if this has already been talked about in this channel, but what if logias also have their own type of influence on personality. For Akainu it indeed makes him more hotheaded and explosive, while Kuzan has become more cold-hearted. They're still fundamentally same people with same values and ideals, but their DF just makes them express them differently. Akainu may have started as much more reasonable, but equally enthusiastic "absolute justice" marine, but it's the DF that subtly pushes him to enforce those values through destruction and carnage. Kuzan originally believed in more case-by-case type of evaluation, but the growing coldness in his personality has moved his lazy justice towards indifference to the world's problems. I admit this theory is still full of holes when you start applying to many other DFs, butI'd say it's at least in realm of possibility as things are right now
I mean, yeah. When you have two characters that have the same accent, and it's the only appearance of that accent in the entire series, it's probably not coincidence.
On the note of Kazan freezing hibari; I don’t think he did it out of pettiness but rather a sense of protection, by freezing her he’s able to stop her from putting herself in more danger than they already are, I don’t think he’d project his anger and disagreement of akainu into hibari
I like the idea of Sakazuki being Hibari's Father but I'd like more for her to be Kongs Granddaughter or something to reintroduce his character if his name isn't just revealed to be Monkey D Kong and he's in actuality Garps Father, I just want to see what he's been upto considering its been well over 500 chapters since we last saw or even heard of him
I think Akainu's wife is the only other person that could have reined Sakazuki in. While he has to deal with crap in the Marines and yells at everyone, Mama-Zuki would have given him 'The Glare' to make him ease up. Imagine that, Sakazuki getting nervous and subdued because his wife is there.
The rival's family crush thing is also the reason why I can't wait for Zoro to meet Germa 66. Especially, Reiju. Imagine Reiju unleashing Sanji-like perviness on Zoro. Sanji will be pissed!
I hope we see Garp again and he would be held as a prisoner of greater leverage by the Blackbeard Pirates. Especially when Garp ends up being heavily tied up with lots of heavy chains and sedated even though he could probably break out if he wanted to.

This idea seems very likely but I don't think Hibari, Koby and Akainu are going to have to deal with any domestic issues. Before the end of the story, Akainu will either be killed by Sabo and/or Luffy or imprisoned in Impel Down. His personality cannot exist in a post-war world. If we are going to get an interaction with the three of them it will most likely be on a battlefield as Hibari has to make the choice between joining Koby (now with Luffy and the Revolutionary Army) or her father. This interaction will probably see her choose Koby resulting in Akainu trying to kill her only for Koby to stand in his path, now in possession of the strength to resist Akainu himself. As for Koby joining Luffy. I feel that either after Vegapunk's announcement or the discovery of the full truth at Laughtale the marines are going to be divided with those choosing to protect justice on one side those choosing the World Government's justice on the other. Koby (and any marine that has actually spent time with Luffy) will most likely join his side when they confront Imu.
I think freezing Hibari would be a reasonable choice if she’s Akainu’s daughter. The daughter of the Fleet Admiral would be an extremely valuable hostage, certainly more than Colby.

this is very interesting and I have a lot of questions. Because Hibari is about of sword does that mean she hates her dad because she sort of left the Marines to Join Sword. Does Hibari know that Akainu tried to kill Coby? maybe that's why she isn't telling him? Does Akainu know his daughter has a crush on the person he tried to kill? Does Coby even know Hibari and Akainu are related? or that Akainu was even the name of the game that tried to burn him alive? I have a lot of questions and I think I'm on board so far
I really hope she is. She talks similar to akainu and it would be hilarious how hard akainu is on justice while hibari takes a more passivism approach to it by making weapons not hurt people. Kids to their parents either copy them or go against them and hibari is the second one.
I think they look rather similar too. They have the same face shape, eyebrows, cheek marks and bangs. She just grew her hair out to a ponytail and became a bit taller and curvier in the 2 year timeskip.
I agree with with most of your theory, just the part with freezing Hibari I think has a different reason. And that is not out of pettiness, but for tactical reasons. Think about it what would Akainu do if his daughter gets killed or crippled and if you take her hostage the world gouverment wouldn't let, a pirate having a pawn against a highranking offical, slide. So Aokiji took her out of the picture without risking anything in a very smart way.
You could also look at Kuzan freezing Hibari a couple of other ways. 1. He froze her to protect her and keep her safe, we can assume he’s known her since she was a baby and is understandably protective of her. 2. Again, he knows her and he may have frozen her because she is a powerful combatant (crazy strong Haki, perhaps a Devil Fruit) and he wanted to remove her from the field of battle as quickly as possible to minimize her threat potential.
I think Hibari will be the final straw for Akainu to actually do something truly righteous towards the end of the story and fully turn his back on the world government. We all know he’s not fond of the five elders and whatnot but due to his position it’s pretty much impossible for him to truly act and talk how he wants (unlike Garp). If Hibari is his daughter, I can most definitely see a scene play out where one of the Gorosei for whatever reason either lay hands on or attempt to assault her in some for or fashion (for whatever reason). The scenario wouldn’t occur because they know of their relationship but because it would be the perfect opportunity to force his hand to fight back which in turn would lead to the marines fully separating from the WG. The overhauling of the old world system to a new way of living is inevitable but I can’t see the Marines being dismantled as a whole entity, just a full restructure.
I think a good comparison for the hiroshima dialect is the difference between different Spanish dialects. For example, in Mexican Spanish, they use "Frijoles" to refer to beans. In Dominican Spanish, we use "Guandules" instead. These also correspond to certain styles of cooking beans that are used by each culture, but this is the best comparison I could think of and the first that came to mind.
ASIDE from the fact that Hiroshima is from Japan and Japan = Wano, it's heavily implied to me that Akainu IS from Wano. There are two main reasons: 1) he has an irezumi (yakuza tattoo) and I'm sure people kmow yakuza are from Japan, i.e. Wano 2) we learned from Zoro's backstory revealed in the SBS that 26 people (my memory on the numbers might be off and I'm lazy to google) left Wano and about half of them stayed in what is now "Shimotsuki Village", the rest went wandering the world. That means that any and ALL characters with Japanese aesthetics are 100% from Wano or their descendents like: - Issho (pretty obvious) - Sakazuki (yakuza tattoos) - Aramaki (very Japanese name, and he's Akainu's lackey, like a yakuza underling) - Kumadori and his mom (obviously kabuki) - Tashigi (identical to Kuina was a Shimotsuki and we know that's how fictional family genetics work, that's why Zoro looks like Ushimaru despite him not being Zoro's dad but his great uncle, it's pretty obvious she's a distant cousin from someone who did not stay in Shimotsuki village)
As a casual reader, at first I was like: "Who the hell is Hibari?!" And then I was like: "Aokiji lost a leg?!" The things I miss, I swear! Still no idea where or when Hibari was named, never had any idea Kobi had a fangirl either.
She was named literally after Koby was captured by Blackbeard and his SWORD mates decided to break him out. She and Helmeppo lead the charge to get others to go and get him. Prince Groose wasn't about that life, but had Garp talk him into it. So they all went to rescue Koby, complete with us learning Hibari was really into him. The Akainu connection is supposition at this point, but people have a point that its weird that they have the exact same accent and its freaking hilarious, so trust Oda to have thought of the comedy of a dude that almost murdered him, being his future father in law for Koby. The jokes just write themselves which is why people love the idea. Its very Oda and its a very clever way to reveal it.

My greatest example for my Midwest accent is the way we pronounce milk with sounds more like melk, and also if you look at major grocery stores. We always add an s at the end even if it doesn’t exist. Aldi is Aldi’s, Kroger is Kroger’s, Meijer is Meijer’s. Strangely though it doesn’t continue to Walmart.

The premise of the gag manga you talked about with the girl waiting for the koby-lookalike's glow up is so funny to me. Kinda want to read it.
There are only a few chapters out of the manga that revolve around that premise. Someone translated a few of those chapters specifically on reddit but they quit before Akainu's character gets introduced in the third part.

Another subtle point could be when Sakazuki intercepted Kuma before he warped away and thinking about what Kuma could be driven by. If both are single parent dads with a daughter it’s something he would be aware of.

Her dialect is very unique and since the BB pirates were present at Marineford they would know Sakazuki also has the same speech pattern.

If Hibari's mother is still alive, here's an interesting possibility. What if her mother is Kujaku? They both have the same hair and eye color, and when Hibari was frozen in Chapter 1081, the only other member of Sword whose reaction got focused on (besides Garp and Koby), is Kujaku's, who had the strongest reaction next to Koby's. Of all the other Sword members, why was her reaction the one that we got to see alongside Koby and Garp's, unless Hibari is somene important to Kujaku?
Also, when she called out Hibari's name she didn't use any honorifics like Koby did (he called her Hibari-san), hinting at a sense of familiarity between the two, which you usually only see between family members or close friends. At the very least this could hint at a familial connection between them, on top of Kujaku being one that was caring for Hibari while she thawed out.
If Kujaku is the mother of Hibari and wife of Akainu, there's a bit poetic irony there. Akainu's hated rival Aokiji has a codename based on a bird, Blue Pheasant, yet he ends up marrying a woman named after a bird as well, Kujaku meaning Peacock.
@friedareiss8919 It's been theorized that Akainu also is, or was, a member of Sword, due to his sword tattoo. Depending on how long Sword has been around, Akainu and Kujaku could have first met through Sword when they were both members, leading to them falling in love. It would explain why Akainu is seemingly okay with his daughter going off on these dangerous missions. Because mom is there with her.
Isn't Kujaku too young to be Hibari's Mother? Even if Kujaku gave birth when she was 18, she would have to be 36 right now and she is definitely not 36.

We can't really judge her age by her looks. There are plenty of characters in One Piece in their 40's, 50's, and 60's who look way younger than they are and could pass for someone in their 20's or 30's.

Plus the average age at which Japanese woman have grandkids is like 50 so the timeline doesn't line up assuming that Hibari is like 16-20 since Koby is 18. Another thing is that most of sword's age is similar to each other with Grus and Kujaku being seemingly slightly older than Koby, Helmeppo and Hibari due to their higher rank and stronger strength.

If Tsuru gave birth at 18, then her daughter gave birth at 18, then Kujaku gave birth at 18 to Hibari who is currently 18, that puts Tsuru's current age at 72, so we even have four years to spare in which some of them could have given birth at 20 instead of 18.
The main issue with this theory, which I later realized, is not with Kujaku, but with Akainu. Akainu is currently 55. If Kujaku is currently 36, then that's a pretty big age gap between them, which would make things kind of weird. Has Oda ever really been one to do relationships with big age gaps like that? If Akainu is not Hibari's father, Kujaku being her mother works out just fine, but if he is her father, it still technically works, it would just be kind of weird.
Another possibility that could work is if instead of being Akainu's daughter, HIbari is his grand-daughter, while Kujaku is Akainu's daughter, Akainu having married Tsuru's daughter. As you said, the average age for Japanese having grandkids is around 50, and Akainu is in his 50's. As for why his granddaughter Hibari talks like him but his daughter Kujaku doesn't, maybe Kujaku was rebellious and didn't want to be like her father, taking more after her mother, while her daughter went in the opposite direction and took more after her grandfather.

ive been 100% convinced since first seeing the theory. the dialect, how perfect it would be for akainu's daughter to fall for the guy he tried to kill, the fact that akainu's backstory is right around the corner so hibari could have been introduced just to set the stage for that. it all feels intentionally set up for that reveal.

I'm glad you thought of this too! When I was watching that scene with Akainu on the dock, I came to realize I never considered if any of the admirals had families or kids. Then Hibari comes up n chats with Koby and man, I was happy to see the interaction finally. Koby's grown so mich over this show. Can't wait to see his story arc reach a peak in Elbaf. I bet it'll be Sword and the revolutionaries being forced to fight together with the Elbafian giants against Blackbeard, followed by a poneglyph sketching for Robin and an army of 8,000 strong for Usopp.
Anyway, Kobi's come a long way and he deserved a lady, so I realized that Akainu's flower shirt and tattoos were similar in color to Hibari's outfit. I really hope she turns out to be Akainu's. It'll be funny to see!

A bigger point on the pettiness question: think about the pettiness of some of the rest of the Blackbeard pirates for a second. Would it really make sense trying to fit into such a crew without doing the obvious petty thing that, say, Burgess, Pizarro, Vasco or Devon might do in Aokiji's shoes?
I hadn't even thought of that one. But yeah, if you are trying to blend into that crew, being petty is the way to go. They'd even laugh about it after the battle.

Speaking of headcanons in regards to Sakazuki I believe that he like Rocinante Doflamingo was adopted a high ranking naval officer which I think is Garp's right-hand Bogard which explains Sakazuki's past with Dragon.
I think Kuzan was just being very smart about who he froze... he KNEW that if he froze Hibari, there was no way in Hell Koby would just leave her behind. And he also knew, as you pointed out yourself, that freezing Garp most likely would be pointless. But freezing Hibari not only stops everybody else in their tracks as well, it also takes out an opponent who for sure won't be able to get herself out of it. But lets be real, if he froze Helmeppo, ain't no way we all stopping to save his dumb ***. Should've been keeping his head on a swivel and not gotten caught by surprise... lol

Hold up, that "power of volcano inside me" gave me a pause. I don't know if this has already been talked about in this channel, but what if logias also have their own type of influence on personality. For Akainu it indeed makes him more hotheaded and explosive, while Kuzan has become more cold-hearted. They're still fundamentally same people with same values and ideals, but their DF just makes them express them differently. Akainu may have started as much more reasonable, but equally enthusiastic "absolute justice" marine, but it's the DF that subtly pushes him to enforce those values through destruction and carnage. Kuzan originally believed in more case-by-case type of evaluation, but the growing coldness in his personality has moved his lazy justice towards indifference to the world's problems.
I admit this theory is still full of holes when you start applying to many other DFs, butI'd say it's at least in realm of possibility as things are right now

On the note of Kazan freezing hibari; I don’t think he did it out of pettiness but rather a sense of protection, by freezing her he’s able to stop her from putting herself in more danger than they already are, I don’t think he’d project his anger and disagreement of akainu into hibari
I like the idea of Sakazuki being Hibari's Father but I'd like more for her to be Kongs Granddaughter or something to reintroduce his character if his name isn't just revealed to be Monkey D Kong and he's in actuality Garps Father, I just want to see what he's been upto considering its been well over 500 chapters since we last saw or even heard of him
I think Akainu's wife is the only other person that could have reined Sakazuki in. While he has to deal with crap in the Marines and yells at everyone, Mama-Zuki would have given him 'The Glare' to make him ease up. Imagine that, Sakazuki getting nervous and subdued because his wife is there.
The rival's family crush thing is also the reason why I can't wait for Zoro to meet Germa 66. Especially, Reiju. Imagine Reiju unleashing Sanji-like perviness on Zoro. Sanji will be pissed!
It makes sense for kuzan to freeze hibari. Usopp pulled the strawhats out of some bad situations, im just saying never underestimate the support.
I think we’re just glossing over how The Raid on Hachinosu was quicker than the Raid on Onigashima.
I hope we see Garp again and he would be held as a prisoner of greater leverage by the Blackbeard Pirates. Especially when Garp ends up being heavily tied up with lots of heavy chains and sedated even though he could probably break out if he wanted to.

This idea seems very likely but I don't think Hibari, Koby and Akainu are going to have to deal with any domestic issues. Before the end of the story, Akainu will either be killed by Sabo and/or Luffy or imprisoned in Impel Down. His personality cannot exist in a post-war world. If we are going to get an interaction with the three of them it will most likely be on a battlefield as Hibari has to make the choice between joining Koby (now with Luffy and the Revolutionary Army) or her father. This interaction will probably see her choose Koby resulting in Akainu trying to kill her only for Koby to stand in his path, now in possession of the strength to resist Akainu himself.
As for Koby joining Luffy. I feel that either after Vegapunk's announcement or the discovery of the full truth at Laughtale the marines are going to be divided with those choosing to protect justice on one side those choosing the World Government's justice on the other. Koby (and any marine that has actually spent time with Luffy) will most likely join his side when they confront Imu.
I think freezing Hibari would be a reasonable choice if she’s Akainu’s daughter. The daughter of the Fleet Admiral would be an extremely valuable hostage, certainly more than Colby.

this is very interesting and I have a lot of questions. Because Hibari is about of sword does that mean she hates her dad because she sort of left the Marines to Join Sword. Does Hibari know that Akainu tried to kill Coby? maybe that's why she isn't telling him? Does Akainu know his daughter has a crush on the person he tried to kill? Does Coby even know Hibari and Akainu are related? or that Akainu was even the name of the game that tried to burn him alive? I have a lot of questions and I think I'm on board so far
I really hope she is. She talks similar to akainu and it would be hilarious how hard akainu is on justice while hibari takes a more passivism approach to it by making weapons not hurt people.

I think they look rather similar too. They have the same face shape, eyebrows, cheek marks and bangs. She just grew her hair out to a ponytail and became a bit taller and curvier in the 2 year timeskip.
I agree with with most of your theory, just the part with freezing Hibari I think has a different reason. And that is not out of pettiness, but for tactical reasons. Think about it what would Akainu do if his daughter gets killed or crippled and if you take her hostage the world gouverment wouldn't let, a pirate having a pawn against a highranking offical, slide. So Aokiji took her out of the picture without risking anything in a very smart way.
It would be really cool if in the end Akainu recognized Koby as the future of the Marines.

You could also look at Kuzan freezing Hibari a couple of other ways. 1. He froze her to protect her and keep her safe, we can assume he’s known her since she was a baby and is understandably protective of her. 2. Again, he knows her and he may have frozen her because she is a powerful combatant (crazy strong Haki, perhaps a Devil Fruit) and he wanted to remove her from the field of battle as quickly as possible to minimize her threat potential.

I think Hibari will be the final straw for Akainu to actually do something truly righteous towards the end of the story and fully turn his back on the world government.
We all know he’s not fond of the five elders and whatnot but due to his position it’s pretty much impossible for him to truly act and talk how he wants (unlike Garp). If Hibari is his daughter, I can most definitely see a scene play out where one of the Gorosei for whatever reason either lay hands on or attempt to assault her in some for or fashion (for whatever reason). The scenario wouldn’t occur because they know of their relationship but because it would be the perfect opportunity to force his hand to fight back which in turn would lead to the marines fully separating from the WG.
The overhauling of the old world system to a new way of living is inevitable but I can’t see the Marines being dismantled as a whole entity, just a full restructure.

Hey, better have one late than never.
I think a good comparison for the hiroshima dialect is the difference between different Spanish dialects. For example, in Mexican Spanish, they use "Frijoles" to refer to beans. In Dominican Spanish, we use "Guandules" instead. These also correspond to certain styles of cooking beans that are used by each culture, but this is the best comparison I could think of and the first that came to mind.
ASIDE from the fact that Hiroshima is from Japan and Japan = Wano, it's heavily implied to me that Akainu IS from Wano.
There are two main reasons:
1) he has an irezumi (yakuza tattoo) and I'm sure people kmow yakuza are from Japan, i.e. Wano
2) we learned from Zoro's backstory revealed in the SBS that 26 people (my memory on the numbers might be off and I'm lazy to google) left Wano and about half of them stayed in what is now "Shimotsuki Village", the rest went wandering the world.
That means that any and ALL characters with Japanese aesthetics are 100% from Wano or their descendents like:
- Issho (pretty obvious)
- Sakazuki (yakuza tattoos)
- Aramaki (very Japanese name, and he's Akainu's lackey, like a yakuza underling)
- Kumadori and his mom (obviously kabuki)
- Tashigi (identical to Kuina was a Shimotsuki and we know that's how fictional family genetics work, that's why Zoro looks like Ushimaru despite him not being Zoro's dad but his great uncle, it's pretty obvious she's a distant cousin from someone who did not stay in Shimotsuki village)
It was 20 people

As a casual reader, at first I was like: "Who the hell is Hibari?!"
And then I was like: "Aokiji lost a leg?!"
The things I miss, I swear! Still no idea where or when Hibari was named, never had any idea Kobi had a fangirl either.
She was named literally after Koby was captured by Blackbeard and his SWORD mates decided to break him out. She and Helmeppo lead the charge to get others to go and get him. Prince Groose wasn't about that life, but had Garp talk him into it. So they all went to rescue Koby, complete with us learning Hibari was really into him. The Akainu connection is supposition at this point, but people have a point that its weird that they have the exact same accent and its freaking hilarious, so trust Oda to have thought of the comedy of a dude that almost murdered him, being his future father in law for Koby. I imagine the same scene with the newspaper, but when she says she brought a boy over, the paper spontaneously combusts, and Akainu just stares at Koby.

My greatest example for my Midwest accent is the way we pronounce milk with sounds more like melk, and also if you look at major grocery stores. We always add an s at the end even if it doesn’t exist. Aldi is Aldi’s, Kroger is Kroger’s, Meijer is Meijer’s. Strangely though it doesn’t continue to Walmart.
