I have been obsessed with one particular track by this guy, playing it over and over for about 2 weeks. I was convinced it was sample based until I searched around in the makingvaporwave subreddit and found a link to this video. I was utterly convinced it was a George Michael song pitched down, but I produce myself and couldn’t work out how the rest of the track didn’t sound pitched down and then assumed he had an accapela of the George Michael track, time stretched the accapella and pitched it down… I put it into serato, played it at 45 rpm plus 8, shazammed it, got nothing, it’s been driving me CRAZY! I bought the entire discography on bandcamp and have been pretty much only listening to that for months. I’m almost 50 by the way and come from a hip hop background! Discovered vaporwave a few years ago and fell headlong into it… thanks again…
New world disciples was the first project where I learned you're making everything from scratch which blew me away entirely. Its one of my favorite listens right now and Im genuinely curious how those tracks all were made. Love ur stuff!
i've only listened to new world disciples all year, i don't need anything else. if i'm going to listen to another album it'd have to be like new world disciples
i always was curious how you managed to do entire albums without even using a single sample; really cool to see the process behind it, love your stuff!
Have you ever thought about dropping an album that's entirely just the pre-slush versions of these songs? It'd be fun to see it as one of those end-of-year bonus albums that's up for 24 hours
This video got me started on production slushwave a couple months ago, which then turned into me trying to imitate Telepath, which then turned into me developing my own mixing and sound aesthetic. I find it so fascinating and inspirational seeing other people's workflow. My track (and only RUclips upload so far), 性的癒し, was probably my first "successful" attempt at getting that slush sound you demonstrate in this video. Thank you for showing yours and for formally introducing me to vaporwave. 🤍 from London
I love seeing your creative process! I'm a new fan, I had never heard of Slushwave before encountering Desert Dreams. I'm currently obsessed eith New World Desciples and Desert Memories- they were instant love.
You're recommended to my listeners on Spotify, brodie. I've been discovering your stuff, mad respect for the craft. Learning a lot from you right now, I pray we meet for a beer at some point and discuss life. Peace til we meet.
Have been binging your music and wanted to look into your process. So happy to find this tutorial made by the man himself! I have such respect for artists who take the time to spread there production knowledge.
I absolutely adore your music and was recently inspired, in part by artists such as yourself, to buy my first synth, a Korg Minilogue. I am desperate to try and learn how to make my own vaporwave, especially without samples. This is an invaluable video that I can't wait to soak in. Take care friend!
Your album released 7/2020 made me wonder if I have mild synesthesia. The vocals light up across my mind. It's a wild experience I love to revisit. Thank you for sharing your process. I knew this steam was going to be awesome when you hit that first chord on the keys.
My mind is blown. Do you know how much I have listened to Dream Desert and how much it got me through my partner cheating on me? I thought you just pitched some songs down and put some reverb on it! This is incredible!
Man, you're god of slushwave to me. I listened to like half of your albums and they're all damn good! I really love your music, and thie track in the video is one of my favourite. Wish you all the best and an unlitimed creative streak
So glad you made a RUclips channel and I love this video. Been a huge fan and have been curious how you make your sample-free stuff. Thanks so much for sharing and hope to see more of this kind of stuff!!
You're one of my favorite artists ever, man. It was surreal getting to see you at Electronicon 3. Wanna try making my own slushwave now!! I'M DYING TO CREATE :D
OMG!!! Thank you so much for your beautiful music that transcends me everytime I listen to it. The first time I stumbled on your music I tried to find samples that didn't exist! Now I hear your voice singing beautifully. I try to decipher the slushed words being sung in each song unless you're speaking another language I can't recognize for some of them lol. Honestly, the pacing and phonetics sound similar to polynesian languages! You make it look so easy. I want to try for fun one day even though I have no musical talent lol. The music just sounds like an expression of emotion in audible form. No lyrics needed to describe anything or tell a story, just raw emotion which I'm sure incites a unique emotional response for many of your listeners (me included) I have the weirdest and vivid day dreams/dreams when listening to your music and can also sleep well. So many odd feelings arise which are then projected to my imagination. Thank you!
A few days ago I discovered your music and I can't stop listening to your album where this song appears, which is one of my favorites. I recently started listening to Vaporwave/Slushwave and without a doubt you are my favorite artist among all that I have listened to this time. It is a pleasant surprise to see that on top of that you have composed the album from scratch. I love the harmonies and melodies, the voices are exquisite. What other albums are sample-free and composed by you besides 我思う、ゆえに我あり?
I'm having a hard time finding videos on vapor production. If anyone has any recommendations for Slushwave, Dreampunk, or any other kind of music, let me know!
an artist called boa boa who makes dreampunk inspired ambient music did a whole breakdown of one of his tracks, check it out! ruclips.net/video/-6GqyGckmmI/видео.html
Hey man, I've stumbled on your music and absolutely love it. Would you be okay with me using it in some videos by chance? Keep doing what you're doing!
hello, very amazing stuff, i was wondering what was the time parameters that you used for the delay, you also seems to use this parameter a lot with the delay in your tracks and i was wondering if you would share it, i cant really figure it by ear easily and i wanted to try some percussions with it :) cheers !
I find it funny producers always hide secret sauce as if telling people what plugin they are using might lead to others making music better than theirs. No one makes their style of music better than them.
@@user-lt2rw5nr9s I agree with that for most genres, but slushwave has an extremely specific sound timbre and quality that is not present in any other genre of music. Pretty much no one does it as well as telepath and desert sand, but everybody who did their research knows that they use barberpole phaser. Now, how to get that barberpole phaser and where to find it, that is the problem for why I came here. Being a subgenre of vaporwave, the only thing differentiating it from making other music are the correct presets and post-mix effects, so learning what effects and DAW they use seriously helps because there are very few if not 2 tutorials for slushifying a song

I really liked your pre-slush voice on Super Desert. Quite a treat to hear your genuine singing.
