Can we get a video on watering Daniel? How much, how often, for how many weeks, using what tools etc. All these wonderful videos on scarifying, overseeding, top dressing etc will go to waste unless a proper watering regime is understood. Thank you.
Agreed. Watering would be excellent, thank you! I worry I over water my garden… I have re-seeded my front lawn but it is very patchy in points Thank you, Daniel, for all you do!
I water between 6am and 10am over May June.. weather dependent..10 mins with hose...soaked but not drenched and the days raising temps slowly evaporate water the right way...don't water in evening at all...asking for lawn disease if you overwater regular😊
Nice video mate. I moved into a house with a terrible lawn. Bumpy, tonnes of dandelion, thistle and other foreign weeds. Not even wildflowers to speak of. I removed all the thistles, seeded the bare patches, and mowing every 3 days. Buffalo turf is the main grass type in Sydney. It's very weak in this lawn. The base is quite wet with a lot of shade from coniferous trees to the north. I should top-dress it.
As someone who’s neglected their lawn I just don’t know where to start. I cut it this week and I’m trying to keep up on weeding but I just don’t know much about anything and feel like giving up before I’ve barely started.
Amen! Also, how can a non UK bloke such as myself support what you do aside from watching a subscribing? That gg and sbb doesn’t like to cross the pond. Oh yeah - you got a shout out on the allett channel today. You are killing it!
Hey, could you please provide links to the fertilizers used in the video? I'm from another country and I couldn't catch their names in the film. Thank you :)
Daniel, I'm loving this channel mate. Renovated my lawn to your guidance 2 weeks ago and it's looking great. Got some galactic green and looking forward to its first cut next week.
Great video. New subscriber now. New to proper lawn care, do you always remove the grass from the lawn? Is there a reason as to why you wouldn't use the mulch attachment on lawnmower? 👍
Hi Dan question for you I applied the 18-5-15 but as a newby you can see where I’ve missed some of the lawn 😀 guess what I should of done is different directions lesson learnt so the question is how long before I can go again, Regards Paul
All products are just nutrition no chemicals however galactic does have iron in which has hazard warning of causes eye and skin irritation and can stain clothes etc so might wanna keep off till its dry then its fine
Hi Daniel, here's a question - I only have one sprayer kit, and it was last used for weed killer. How thoroughly should I wash it out before using it for a different product type - e.g. liquid fertiliser or wetting agent? - or should I definitely keep a separate sprayer for weedkiller?
Another great video ! Just a quick question / I’ve been following all your advice to a tee …..(although now having seeded the lawn I massively regret not killing the whole thing off first 😂) But the the new seed has taken well in place and no so much in others. Would you recommend really regular mowing with the cylinder (for example every 2 or 3 days) to try and thicken things up or would you let the grass establish before regular mowing ???
Hi, another few questions, when should you do your first mow after a scarification and reseed? ( been two weeks and is now filling out) also what is the best way to get customer if starting out in lawn care?
mine needs feeding but am going organic after this next feed..i end up burning it by june using chemicals..that 6 week feed never lasts 6 weeks so i apply more in a few weeks..then end up applying some more too early.🙄
Hi Daniel, great video again. I'm trying to renew my front lawn, put weed and miss killer down 3 weeks ago the moss has gone black but I've got a lot of clover in there, and it doesn't seem to of touched it, any ideas please?
Thanks Daniel, went for weedol. Sorry for all the questions but do you know how long after application I can scarify and re seed? Looked online but can't find a definite answer, thanks for your help.
Any advice on new build lawns..especoally those that are uneven, full of sand, clay and rubble! ?? or is it a case of dig up,and refill with new topsoil and re turf?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanksf for getting back to me 👍apparently drain tests were carried out at time if build .I think it'll be a dig up job as it's just full of all sorts of crap and multiple types of weeds/grasssss pop up which no weed killer seems to get rid of maybe living next to a farmers field doesn't help with weed control...
Quick question - when you refer to “burning in” the stripe pattern, is that a reference to cutting every few days in exactly the same way, or is there another technique you use?
As crazy as it may seem a black plastic sheet is a great place to start. Lay the black sheet - I’ve used thick black sheeting which is damp proof membrane from ScrewFix. Lay it over a section of the lawn and leave it over all night. Need to get up early in the morning 5am and as you remove sections of the sheet be ready to grab all the large larvae 🐛. I managed to get over 150 off my lawn last year doing this method. Be quick as the minute they see light they are back into the lawn. Ideally you need the lawn short and moist before you put the black sheeting on.
Hi Dan, just wondered how often I can apply Sow Pro to my lawn. I put some on 2/3 weeks ago and my lawn was looking spot on. I then went on holiday and now my grass is dry again!😫
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Yeah I want to apply more Sow Pro as my lawn is looking stressed and I just wondered if I could so close to applying the last lot?

Good point Nick. Watering is so important but nobody on YT seems to bother advising us on the finer details.

Definately throughly n maybe run some tfr through it or washing up liquid and spray through the lance too not just the water holding bit
But yeah keep two if you can

Cylinder mowing does thicken up the lawn quicker but you should rotary cut till lawn established
What a transformation, its already looking mint 👌
So Dan Barenbrug or Limagrain seeds? If bought for the same price. Thank you 😂👍
Barenbrug
Nice one, thank you for the reply Dan and keep them coming m8. Looking forward to an update for 10 September overseeding video.

You will have to spray it with liquid, powder weedkillers are rubbish as not very accurate out of a bag
Thanks Daniel do you recommend any that are easily found in stores?

By "regular mowing" how odten do you mean? Once a week? Or sooner?
