- In this episode we are going over this check engine light diagnosis and repair on this Subaru WRX with the ej255 and logging codes p0021 this would also relate to p0011.

My 07 sti it’s got a Iag block and a lot of other aftermarket stuff but it’s getting a p0021 code it’s runs and drives fine idles fine everything seems to be working properly took the banjo bolts out no filters checks a AVCs solenoids hood checked timing myself and took it to a shop to have it all checked and they said everything was fine as well

Later model Subarus don't have them at all for the amount of grief they cause, if your car has great service history I wouldn't worry about replacing them
@@RealAutoSolutions wait later models don’t have these? A bit confused my 2021 wrx popped up with a P0021 and I figured it could be this. Guess it’s back to the drawing board.
@@snzjavi I believe Subaru removed them man, you could call Subaru and quote your vin and ask them for the parts
If they have no listing that tells you they aren't on your car
SUB# 14445AA090 for the banjo bolt. Hope this helps everyone else looking!
My car has the same codes but is knocking. Do you think this will solve my problem or is it too late.
If its actually knocking its too late unfortunately.
If it's knocking mate it's probably needing a rebuild, have you checked the oil level and correct weight?

Ugh. Ive got these codes and a p2005. Are they related? Still think it could be these filters? Also had my airbag light come on. I checked all seatbelts and theres no coins or anything
This and the p2005 are unlikely to be related.
The p2005 appears to be an electrical circuit code
As for your air bag, it needs to be scanned for codes or check live data for direction

Would it help to just clean those filters with break fluid? Also where the little filters inside the solenoid? 17 Wrx sti 2.5.
You could clean them with carby clean or brake clean, not brake fluid
I believe they took them out in the later models because of the greif they were causing

My 2012 wrx has a p0011 code and it says RH intake cam over advanced. No warning lights though and no drivabilty issues either

Question, was the car'ss Idle rough at all? I had that same code pop up and everytime I go to accelerate my car the revs drop and the car just ends up stalling.
I already order both vvt solenoid and plan to remove the filters from banjo bolts
It definitely would be rough with this fault if they were still stuck in the advance position
@@RealAutoSolutions Yeah I just changed both them and looks like it did the trick but my car still randomly stalls when i come to a stop but rarely. i’m thinking i need to clean my MAF sensor?

P0011 is driver side of car correct (North America)?

I got this code yesterday on my 06 legacy gt i was driving on the highway and it came on i dont drive the car hard, will this cause the timing to skip ?
This particular issue wouldn't cause the timing to skip, though if the timing has already skipped I would think this code could be logged.
Do you have any driveability issues or any other codes
Cam crank correlation?

Just as simple as that,oil level was low.now I got to find out why my custumer vehicle its burning or loosing oil in that engine compartment.

So I pulled these banjo bolts, filters were gone on both sides. Replaced both Vvt valves, did an oil change , Replaced oil pressure sensor and cam position sensor. Timing belt looks ok, still have p0011 and p0021. Any help ?
When you say the belt looked ok, did you actually check the timing marks?
Dude I have the exact same issue, I changed those parts you mentioned AND the timing belt, AVCS gears and still have these codes

@@RealAutoSolutions Same issue here, I changed both avcs, change solenoids, change the banjo bolt, change the timing belt and tensioner at the correct timing marks and the car stalls when I stop accelerating, it might be the camshaft position sensor or the fuel filter that is in the petrol tank? I cleaned the throttle body and change the aire filter too,

I have these same codes on a infiniti q50 3.0 and my car went into limp mode
This fault would cause limp mode for sure in some cases
