695grams ultegra vs 630grams dura ace only 65grams diference but the price is double triple.

The Ultegra chainset is 65g more........1 and half small packets of crisps.............at the most! Thanks for this video. Ultegra is definitely the best value (racy) groupset. At the end of the day you're paying for the image because DA is the no.1 groupset in the range so I guess they have to price it highly to make it seem worth it. If it was 25% more to buy, in people's minds it wouldn't feel as desirable. When you charge a very high price (up to a point) it creates exclusivity in people's minds. Anyway, no more rambling......I'm off out for cycle.

Sometimes the lighter more expesive cranks have been slightly less stiff but 99.xx precent of us are not monster track sprinters so we will never be able to tell anyways. And me personally ultegra is where I limit my self to as the small weight savings of durace vs the big price jump is money I can spend else where

Dura-Ace for color, but 99.999% of all cyclists and triathletes should just get Ultegra.

I think you said it best at the end when you told us to go on a diet, carry less water, or less weight in our kits. The very marginal difference between DuraAce and Ultegra isn't worth the price unless you are being sponsored or have money to burn (like my doctor, for example, who charges $200 to walk into your hospital room and ask how you're feeling).

The latest Dura Ace shifters re more adjustable and have a faster nd lighter action hence why i bought a set whereas the rest of the set is fine as R8000 or evne the 6800. The other part really worth swapping out is the front derailler it's work a treat and is very easy to adjust.

I’ll take the Ultregra, plus I think they look much racier. The DA are simply gloss black and the sharp design cues just disappear into the monotone color.

Excellent video, thank you for going through the process of literally showing the difference. At my current level of ability, the difference in weight is negligible and certainly not worth the price. I've made my choice and will going with the Ultegra.

I dont know if I missed it but what was the overall weight savings, because im looking to get a stages power meter and upgrade crankset at the same time, if its under 80g weight save I think I would go Ultegra, but dura ace looks so damn nice.

Hi Guy, I like the comparison of the venerable shimano dura ace vs ultegra. For someone like me the ultegra would be perfect. The cosmetic appearance of the dura ace is simply beautiful, the high gloss black is rich. If money is not a factor id go for the top end dura ace on looks alone. I'm using a praxis works alba twin ring on a 2019 Specialized Sirrus elite pro carbon bike disk brakes flat bar bike but would like to upgrade my chainring krank set in the near future. Enjoyed your presentation very much. 🚲👍

Hey I have a 2015 Sirrus expert disc. It's a fantastic bike but compared to my Grandfondo BMC 105 with rim brakes it's hella slow. Was thinking of putting drops on it before gaining the BMC.
