My vote goes to Shadow, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if he lost to Zero. Zero is a pretty cool dude too. Also music is pretty great too. Loved the reference to all hail Shadow. I also like how ambiguous the cover art is about a victor. We got Zero's damaged helmet and Shadow's slice rings.

Brandon Yates music for my favorite characters never disappoints. As a fan of both Sonic and Mega Man X. I'm gonna hand this to Shadow. They're both surprisingly evenly matched in a lot of ways and both have counters to each other. But those Chaos Emeralds really are the nail in the coffin for Zero. Unless Zero can find a way to finish off Shadow before he can use the Emeralds, its back to Maverick Hunter HQ in pieces for Zero I loved the All Hail Shadow bits in here btw
I dunno, this also factors in some of Zero's Z-Body feats & stuff he pulled in the Z-Saga (Possibly ZX also, depending if we factor in feats that Vent/Aile pulled with Model ZX or that of Ashe/Grey.) If Zero can somehow find a way to muscle through the Super form, he could take a 2nd win and Chaos Control this battle.
@@sptflcrw8583 all supers at the time (sonic, shadow and silver) could be comparable to solaris, but they couldn’t beat it because of its haxs (that being omnipresence). In actuality, shadow does have scaling with solaris and with super sonic (which fought the egg wizard, a machine with the power to destroy dimensions)

Ooh that animation with all the pieces of art appearing was neat. Zero vs Shadow has always been a favorite matchup of mine, the only reason I lean towards Shadow in the end is favouritism, because I suck at most Megaman games aside from Battle Network.

Alright, I'm ready to do this. Because of how powerful these two are, I tried to make this one as wild as possible. Let's see if I succeed. Beginning: the fight takes place in one of Sigma's laboratories (if he has any). We cut inside to see Zero finishing off the remaining enemy forces. He turns and sees a chaos emerald being analyzed. Zero: "The readings for this thing are massive!" (turns on communicator) "Zero to base, I've cleared out the laboratory and found a jewel that has high energy readings. I'm bringing it back so we can find out what it is." Unfortunately for Zero, it's not going to be that easy, because someone is watching from behind. "Lifeform Zero" qeus 0:00: as Zero removes the emerald, a hand from the dark glows yellow, and an energy bolt is thrown at Zero. 0:07: Zero hears the attack coming and looks behind him just in time to avoid the attack. He sees the attacker is Shadow the Hedgehog, and he's mistaken Zero for one of Eggman's robots. Shadow: "Actually, I'm the one who's taking the emerald, not you." 0:13: Zero attacks, but Shadow teleports out of the way, catching Zero off guard. Shadow then appears at Zero's left, smacks the emerald out of his hand into the air and charges energy into his hand to deliver a supercharged back-fist that sends Zero into a wall. Shadow calmly catches the emerald and turns to walk away. . . 0:20:. . . but hears Zero's Z-saber. He quickly roles out of the way of an energy beam launched from it and is surprised to see that Zero is still in one piece without a scratch on him. Shadow: "Hmph. It looks like I might get a little workout here after all." Zero: "You made a big mistake doing that." Shadow: "And you made a big mistake getting up." 0:33: the two little fighters begin their brawl (if you've seen comments like this before, then you know what to do). 0:47: Shadow: "CHAOS, SPEAR!" A barrage of chaos spears come at Zero, who navigates through them. He tries to punch Shadow, but Shadow grabs him and throws him to the ground. 0:55: Zero lands feet first and uses rikohon, send lasers up toward Shadow. He tries to block them with his chaos shield, but the force causes the emerald to slip out of his hands, causing Shadow to take the full impact of the attack as he is sent through the roof and out of the building. Zero catches the emerald and flys out after Shadow. 1:03: as Zero searches for Shadow, he's hit by a homing and gets pumped before dashing away. He sends his mini bird drones at Shadow who jumps over them, but gets blasted by Zero's charge shot that sends him into his bike. Shadow: "Hmph. You're better than I thought." 1:14: Shadow pulls out his sowrd and clashes with Zero's Z-saber. The two engage in a sword duel. 1:26: Shadow: "CHAOS, CONTROL!" Shadow has stopped time. He goes for Zero's head, but Zero activates Dark hold to stop time as well, sending a surprised Shadow flying and losing his sword. Shadow: "You can keep up with me AND counter chaos control? Color me impressed". Zero: "Flattery isn't going to get you out of this." Shadow: "Then I guess playtime is over. Time to step it up." 1:50: Shadow powers himself up by activating chaos boost and charges at Zero. Zero pushes him off and activates Black Zero. Now the two are really going at it. 2:00: Zero launches a much bigger beam from his Z-saber and Zero-buster at Shadow, who struggles to block it with his barriers. Shadow: "Grr! How did Eggman make a badnik THIS strong?!" Zero: "Give up! Don't make my destroy you!" Shadow: "No! I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform. For the promise I made to Maria, I WILL NOT LOSS!!!!!!!" 2:26: Shadow breaks off his Inhibitor rings and enters his chaos form for even more power. Shadow: "CHAOS, BLAST!!!!!!!" The chaos blast destroys the beam just as it breaks the barriers and sends Zero flying, losing the chaos emerald in the process. Shadow takes advantage of this to grab the emerald and rush at Zero, his speed tearing up the ground, and hitting Zero by snapping his fingers, hitting him midair with tiny energy balls that bounce Zero around. 2:38: Zero is then caught in Shadow's black tornado and is hit by his spin attacks while in it, but gets out easily with his own tornado, causing Shadow to lose control. Zero then turns into Absolute Zero and charges at Shadow. Once again, the two go at it. 3:28: Zero dashes behind Shadow and attacks rapidly with his claws, but Shadow teleports away and counters by kicking him up and spin dashing all over before drop kicking him to the ground and stomps downwards. Zero avoids this and hits him with the Zero buster. 3:48: Zero is noticing that Shadow is getting tired. The large amounts of chaos energy are wearing down his stamina. Zero takes advantage of this and lands a lot of attacks from his claws at all angles, really hurting Shadow and even causes blood to spill. After, finishing, Shadow lays on his knees and Zero turns to leave, believing that Shadow is defeated, but the fight's not done yet. 3:58: Shadow: "Behold, the ultimate power!" Yellow energy burst from the ground as Shadow tapes into the power of all 7 chaos emeralds and turns into Super Shadow, his energy and stamina are replenished, and his wounds are healed. Zero: "Dark Hold!" Shadow: "Chaos control!" Both Shadow and Zero completely stop time to finish the fight. This is it, the final verdict is about to be revealed. Can the Maverick hunter outlast Shadow's super form and land the fatal blow, or is the power of the Ultimate Lifeform to much for Zero to handle? . . .well, I leave that up to you. What did you think? We've all been taught not to beat ourselves up, but that lesson is not going to stop this next one, "Not Just A Theory" (Sans vs Ness).
Honestly, this sounds like the script of an actual Death Battle. As for who takes the win, I'm not sure myself. Zero might be at Solar System level depending on how we interpret Lumine's Paradise Lost and I'm sure he can take anything base form Shadow throws at him. However, Super Shadow has a few cosmic level feats of his own. According to Dr Eggman in Sonic X, the Ark supercharged with the Chaos Emeralds (which also fuel Super Shadow) would cause an explosion greater than a supernova. Plus, the Chaos Emeralds/Super Forms supposedly have greater feats in the portable games (though I can't confirm since I haven't played those).

Zero was able to survive an explosion similar to the meteor that killed the dinosaurs, which is more impressive than anything base form Shadow has done, but the chaos emeralds could move pieces of the earth around. And that same energy is in Shadow, who can match the power of a single chaos emerald when he takes off his inhibitor rings, meaning that he's still doing serious damage. And his super form has the combined energy of all seven of them. I don't believe Zero has ever had to deal with power like that before. So in my opinion, Shadow would win because of his incredible power. And speed too, when scaling him to Sonic's race against a black hole.
@@ColeCrossman2.0 I get why you're considering the feats from the Metal Sonic Vs Zero and Shadow vs Ryuko episodes, however, Zero and Shadow were both handicapped in those videos. They won, yes, but they're much stronger than what was said in those videos. Zero was capable of defeating the General, who stopped a blast from a weapon that would destroy Earth. This easily puts him at planet level. There is also Lumine's Paradise Lost, an attack which Zero survived and that supposedly destroyed a star. Besides, Zero can dodge Optic Sunflower's light speed attack and likely scales to Duo, who is even faster. As for Shadow, remember that moving pieces of the Earth was done by a single emerald at a time. When combined, the Chaos Emeralds have way more power than the sum of their parts. We clearly see this in Sonic X/SA2 where 6 emeralds were only enough to destroy half the moon and yet 7 emeralds would cause an explosion greater than a supernova. Also, I know this contradicts him getting sucked into the black hole, but Sonic's speed was enough to restore time and space in Sonic Generations, break out of Null Space and completely mess up Dr Eggman's pocket dimension in the IDW comics, so he's likely much faster than mach 260.000.
the Alpha and the Omega, the one that preceeded all reploid lifeforms vs. the one that represents the last pinacle of evolution for both mobians and black arms, both holding potential of the greatest good or the greatest evil at the same time, the broken messiah of their worlds in a clash for the ultimate power to protect...or to destroy.
What’s great is these songs are objectively good. Even if some aren’t my cup of tea, they are so well made that I can acknowledge their value and effort
These two already appear in Death Battle, so you can likely either go off those stats, or look deeper into their characters and events. I hoped Shadow would take the win, and had a gut feeling Zero would, so the result I got surprised me. Both are over planetary power and durability as well as being well over FTL+, both have time stops and various projectiles and moves to dish out, and they both have stronger forms that easily outclasses their base forms. There's also things like Cyber-elves and reality-warping chaos abilities, but there's one thing that truly decides the victor here. Cold hard stats. Simply put, Zero can emit planetary levels of strength and durability, and can match Shadow in speed and abilities, and far exceeds him in experience, but Shadow has fought beings capable of warping space and time on the regular, such as Solaris. He also regularly matches Sonic, who's capable of defeating Time Eater and various mechanical giants. A more solid feat is Shadow being able to defeat Emerl, who absorbed all seven chaos emeralds before their fight. It is reasonable to assume all seven chaos emeralds are capable of planetary feats, so for Shadow to be able to beat that level means his base form alone is enough to fight on par with planet level beings, such as Emerl, or even Zero. It's hard to say who wins. Shadow is said to have the power of one chaos emerald, but can beat, or at least keep up with people with all seven emeralds. Zero is likely able to put up a difficult fight given he has lots of attacks and feats himself, but neither of them really exceed the other. Again, both have planetary strength and durability, FTL+ speeds, great amounts of experience and plenty of moves to throw out. Even their abilities and attacks are similar to an extent. Time stop? Both can do it on the fly. Various projectiles? Zero has the elemental advantage, but Shadow does have a variety of different attacks himself in the form of Chaos. This may end up as a tie, surprisingly enough.

It shows a large musuem in Abel City with Zero walking through it. Walking past a display of 7 similar looking gemstones and showing Sonic and his friends. Zero: Finally. A day I can actually take a break. No Mavericks for me to stop, no Sigma to fight, I'm not dead again. He then looks at a pod containing a slumbering figure as he passes it. However a crimson red eye then opens in the pod as it looks at Zero (who was leaving the pod before it's eyes focus on the Chaos Emeralds) The figure places a hand on the glass of the pod as it then reels a fist back. Zero meanwhile is walking away looking a bit grumpy. Zero: Though it's so boring I almost wish a Maverick would attack. Suddenly Zero's eyes widen as he hears the sound of glass breaking before turning around. It shows the figure exit the pod, revealing Shadow. Shadow: You... I sense a powerful energy within you. One I've never sensed before. Zero: And you are? Shadow: I am Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog! The Ultimate Lifeform! Zero looks a bit surprised before giving a small chuckle. Zero: Heh, well Shadow. If you're looking for a fight. I can give you one right here. Shadow: (Smirks) I was hoping you'd say that.
This makes me wanna see a Megaman x vs Optimus Primal track. But I lovee the incorporations of “All Hail Shadow” and “I am All of Me” with those Megaman X tunes
Admittedly, I would love to see these two duke it out. Personally...I’d be rooting for Shadow. I can see the match ending with him using his Chaos Blast and the resulting explosion annihilating Zero...and probably a good chunk of the moon, or at least it skidding by the moon and Zero’s helmet lands. On it, as shown in the (awesome) artwork.
Two ultimate creations of doctors from the past who, got sealed away due to how dangerous they are until they were turned evil before becoming good guys later on. That is something I wish to see these two duke it out
Dr Gerald is not a good guy in sa2 lol he has a tragic story with his daughter being sick with a rare genetic disorder which is why he is funding the shadow project and his experiment ends up being weaponized and his daughter killed. He literally sends the space ark colony flying towards earth to destroy it because he is just so distraught over his losses
I honestly depends on whether or not if you want to incorporate the Solaris Low-Multiversal feat & scaling which is still dubious even to this day for some reason. Without it, Zero wins hands down, but if the Solaris scaling is used. Shadow takes it without any issue.

Ok the opening had no right to be as cool as it is. Not to mention the music is absolutely amazing.While the art uses Zero's helmet and the music takes some cues from the Megaman Zero series, and I'd love to see (I'm just gonna say Z Zero for simplicity) Z Zero in matchups, I think original Zero would be a more fair matchup. While Z Zero is a very versatile fighter thanks to his wide variety of Weapons, Armors, Chips, and Cyber Elves, the fact he has 0 time stopping abilities just makes it a stomp, and X Zero having a time stop is another similarity between the fighters that's nice. As for X Zero, I do think it's still Shadow, thanks to his tremendous speed from scaling with Sonic, as well as Super Shadow being busted. Their durability is fairly similar, as both have fallen from orbit while taking minimal damage, while in terms of Power I don't think either Zero has shown anything strong enough to beat Shadow.
Z Zero could have all his abilities from both X and Z to make it fair. Also it would fit the whole “Copy of the original thing” since Shadow once thought that he was an android duplicate of the original shadow (I know later on we found out that he wasn’t but you get the point).
@@darksonicyt5430 The problem with giving Z Zero everything from X Zero is that it's a different body. While you could make a case for him having all the experience and muscle memory/training from X Zero, the fact that his body was different means you can't really give him any of the subweapons that make X Zero a powerhouse. Plus giving him those kind of undercuts the fact that it's Z Zero as it'd just be him using X Zero's abilities while occasionally blocking with the Shield Boomerang or something. Edit: At most you could maybe say because he beat Omega he has any of X Zero's physical feats like Durability or Speed, which makes sense but feels a bit disingenuous given Z Zero died in Ragnarok which was fairly similar to the Eurasia explosion that barely hurt X Zero.
@@BillyBob-xx5jr I know Z Zero doesn’t have all the stuff he use to since he was in a copy body, but for the fight you could still give him all his abilities, since it doesn’t have to be canonical to the original. Or better yet, have them change appearances throughout the fight if possible.
@@darksonicyt5430 I guess that's fair, given they use composite forms of Link for example. Maybe for the changing appearances you could do something like having Z Zero fight Shadow for the first half, have him die, then have Shadow fight X Zero in Cyberspace or something.

@@papaG6423 Both of them have appeared on Death Battle and have had their best feats measured. By comparing what they've analyzed for both of them, it's pretty clear that Shadow has the edge, especially in power. Speed as well, since technically Shadow has the edge in base speed, and Zero wouldn't be able to use Dark Hold to close the gap because of Shadow's Chaos Control, and by Death Battle's own logic, this means they essentially cancel each other out. The only areas Zero would have the edge in would be arsenal and probably experience, but against Shadow's overwhelming power and speed, that's not going to do much to help him at all. Shadow takes this one easily. Otherwise, it's actually a good matchup connections-wise, enough that I wouldn't totally mind it if they did it for real, even though I'd absolutely want Zero to win.
This is quite X-cellent. It's very fast paced. This just opens the doors for more Mega Man vs Sonic matchups. Personally, I would prefer if Shadow was matched up with Bass, but this is still great.
Ngl my heart skipped a beat when I saw this in my notifications because I thought somebody did Nazo vs Mecha Sonic (though I prefer Mecha Sonic vs Betty) but holy shit this makes up for it! Don't really care for the matchup but the song itself and the opening animation was amazing
@@RandoMothGal Turbo Mecha Sonic (SMBZ) vs Betty Noir (Glitchtale) - Both come from fan series based on preexisting game franchises (Sonic + Mario and Undertale) - While their stories have the main characters from their respective inspirations, they are completely different stories and don't scale to things from their games besides pre-established powers and abilities (Mario & Luigi have thier power ups and others like Toriel, Papyrus, and Undyne still have their magic) - Both are the main antagonists of their respective worlds - Both have been well known for being terrifying for the main cast and also to the audience due to every action they make usually leading to disaster for the main cast - Speaking of, there have been many instances where they have actually put the main characters lives in mortal danger and even killed some on screen (Betty killed Frisk, Sans, Elizabeth, many more humans offscreen and almost killed Gaster, Asriel, Mettaton, and Asgore. Mecha Sonic killed Tails, Knuckles, Cream, Rouge, Amy, Omega and just a lot of Sonic characters offscreen, a Goomba, Mario (he needed a 1-up), The Axem Rangers, and the Koopa bros and almost killed Yoshi & Yoshi tribe, and the main cast almost at the same time) While the difference in power between them are really obvious since Mecha Sonic is large island level (you could possibly stretch that out to planet surface level at max if you take Sonic's flashback at face value) and Betty is city level at best, I like it more because of the fight potential and the banter. If this was Nazo vs Mecha Sonic it would be way too one sided even without Super forms and there aren't as many connections besides "Super strong Sonic fan characters inspired by dbz" which is why I don't prefer that fight over Mecha Sonic vs Betty
This is quite a fantastic track, also nice work with the animation at the start, I liked that touch on how it starts opening up once the music started playing.
I would have thought Bass over Zero for a Shadow opponent from Mega Man, although neither are fights I'd have been looking for. But either way, I'll gladly take more Yates music.
@@rodrickgoldberg2324 Same with Zero. Hence why he fought Metal. It's just that Bass was the black edgy rival to the blue bomber while Shadow was the black edgy rival to the blue blur.
Both Zero and Shadow were sealed away for long periods of time by their creators before being unleashed by the villain of their series. Both were designed to be the "Ultimate" of their kind. Both were evil before being converted/turned to good. Both fight using tech (Shadow has his jet boots while Zero is a robot). Both have abilities to stop time (Or at least X Zero does). While Bass makes more sense in terms of black and edgy, Zero has about the same if not more similarities.
Bass and Shadow don’t really have many connections other than edgy, and rival to main character. Bass and Metal Sonic is better since both disobeyed their creator, both are rivals to the main character (Metal fights sonic more than Shadow), both of their creators were evil scientists, both have been beaten by the main character more than once while also being stronger than them (I mean, Sonic never really beat Metal on his own so). There might be even more but, you get the point. Shadow and Zero have a lot more connections. Both were sealed away by an evil scientist for destruction and said evil scientist who sealed them is now deceased. Both of them have a friendly rivalry with the main character. Both of them were evil and then eventually became good. Both of them were presumed dead at one point (With Zero though, it happened more than once). Both of them always gets memories of their deceased creator. Both had a female friend they cared a lot about and is now deceased. Both of them went from cocky to serious (Shadow and Zero were cocky before, but then became more serious. Hard to notice for Shadow but with Zero, it’s more obvious). Both of their rivals/allies is Blue and the main character. I could maybe go on, but you get the point. This is why I love this matchup.
To add to the replies, bass/metal sonic are significantly weaker than shadow/zero, so setting aside similarities the bass/shadow matchup is a lot more predictable than shadow/zero

If it's composite vs composite, then Shadow wins no doubt. If it's Z series Zero vs Game Shadow, I think Shadow still wins but this version of the matchup is a lot fair. If we being biased and making this Composite Zero vs Game Shadow, it's hard to say who wins.

Edgy rivals of a blue protagonist with tragic pasts, incredibly violent but has a soft side, started of as a villain but became a hero. Easter Eggs: -The Chaos Emeralds surrounding Earth. -Shadow's inhibiter rings cut in half. -Zero's helmet, Z-sabre, spear and shield on the moon.
My guess is that the fight would start with Zero destroying an army of shadow androids, but then the real shadow appears nearby and destroys an android with a chaos spear. Zero, thinking he’s another robot lunges at him with his Z saber, but shadow teleports behind him and shoots another chaos spear at zero’s back. Zero recovers and both combatants turn towards each other ready for a fight

Brandon Yates music for my favorite characters never disappoints.
As a fan of both Sonic and Mega Man X. I'm gonna hand this to Shadow. They're both surprisingly evenly matched in a lot of ways and both have counters to each other. But those Chaos Emeralds really are the nail in the coffin for Zero. Unless Zero can find a way to finish off Shadow before he can use the Emeralds, its back to Maverick Hunter HQ in pieces for Zero

Well, it depends on how we interpret Lumine's Paradise Lost. If taken as a star bursting feat, it would put Zero at solar system level.
I dunno, this also factors in some of Zero's Z-Body feats & stuff he pulled in the Z-Saga (Possibly ZX also, depending if we factor in feats that Vent/Aile pulled with Model ZX or that of Ashe/Grey.) If Zero can somehow find a way to muscle through the Super form, he could take a 2nd win and Chaos Control this battle.

In actuality, shadow does have scaling with solaris and with super sonic (which fought the egg wizard, a machine with the power to destroy dimensions)

The art seems to imply Super Shadow taking off his inhibitior rings and blasting Zero to the moon for the killing blow.
The fact that this is nearly the exact same amount of time as the other song for a Zero MU somehow makes this even better.
Ooh that animation with all the pieces of art appearing was neat. Zero vs Shadow has always been a favorite matchup of mine, the only reason I lean towards Shadow in the end is favouritism, because I suck at most Megaman games aside from Battle Network.

Alright, I'm ready to do this. Because of how powerful these two are, I tried to make this one as wild as possible. Let's see if I succeed.
Beginning: the fight takes place in one of Sigma's laboratories (if he has any). We cut inside to see Zero finishing off the remaining enemy forces. He turns and sees a chaos emerald being analyzed.
Zero: "The readings for this thing are massive!" (turns on communicator) "Zero to base, I've cleared out the laboratory and found a jewel that has high energy readings. I'm bringing it back so we can find out what it is."
Unfortunately for Zero, it's not going to be that easy, because someone is watching from behind. "Lifeform Zero" qeus
0:00: as Zero removes the emerald, a hand from the dark glows yellow, and an energy bolt is thrown at Zero.
0:07: Zero hears the attack coming and looks behind him just in time to avoid the attack. He sees the attacker is Shadow the Hedgehog, and he's mistaken Zero for one of Eggman's robots.
Shadow: "Actually, I'm the one who's taking the emerald, not you."
0:13: Zero attacks, but Shadow teleports out of the way, catching Zero off guard. Shadow then appears at Zero's left, smacks the emerald out of his hand into the air and charges energy into his hand to deliver a supercharged back-fist that sends Zero into a wall. Shadow calmly catches the emerald and turns to walk away. . .
0:20:. . . but hears Zero's Z-saber. He quickly roles out of the way of an energy beam launched from it and is surprised to see that Zero is still in one piece without a scratch on him.
Shadow: "Hmph. It looks like I might get a little workout here after all."
Zero: "You made a big mistake doing that."
Shadow: "And you made a big mistake getting up."
0:33: the two little fighters begin their brawl (if you've seen comments like this before, then you know what to do).
0:47: Shadow: "CHAOS, SPEAR!"
A barrage of chaos spears come at Zero, who navigates through them. He tries to punch Shadow, but Shadow grabs him and throws him to the ground.
0:55: Zero lands feet first and uses rikohon, send lasers up toward Shadow. He tries to block them with his chaos shield, but the force causes the emerald to slip out of his hands, causing Shadow to take the full impact of the attack as he is sent through the roof and out of the building. Zero catches the emerald and flys out after Shadow.
1:03: as Zero searches for Shadow, he's hit by a homing and gets pumped before dashing away. He sends his mini bird drones at Shadow who jumps over them, but gets blasted by Zero's charge shot that sends him into his bike.
Shadow: "Hmph. You're better than I thought."
1:14: Shadow pulls out his sowrd and clashes with Zero's Z-saber. The two engage in a sword duel.
1:26: Shadow: "CHAOS, CONTROL!"
Shadow has stopped time. He goes for Zero's head, but Zero activates Dark hold to stop time as well, sending a surprised Shadow flying and losing his sword.
Shadow: "You can keep up with me AND counter chaos control? Color me impressed".
Zero: "Flattery isn't going to get you out of this."
Shadow: "Then I guess playtime is over. Time to step it up."
1:50: Shadow powers himself up by activating chaos boost and charges at Zero. Zero pushes him off and activates Black Zero. Now the two are really going at it.
2:00: Zero launches a much bigger beam from his Z-saber and Zero-buster at Shadow, who struggles to block it with his barriers.
Shadow: "Grr! How did Eggman make a badnik THIS strong?!"
Zero: "Give up! Don't make my destroy you!"
Shadow: "No! I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform. For the promise I made to Maria, I WILL NOT LOSS!!!!!!!"
2:26: Shadow breaks off his Inhibitor rings and enters his chaos form for even more power.
Shadow: "CHAOS, BLAST!!!!!!!"
The chaos blast destroys the beam just as it breaks the barriers and sends Zero flying, losing the chaos emerald in the process. Shadow takes advantage of this to grab the emerald and rush at Zero, his speed tearing up the ground, and hitting Zero by snapping his fingers, hitting him midair with tiny energy balls that bounce Zero around.
2:38: Zero is then caught in Shadow's black tornado and is hit by his spin attacks while in it, but gets out easily with his own tornado, causing Shadow to lose control. Zero then turns into Absolute Zero and charges at Shadow. Once again, the two go at it.
3:28: Zero dashes behind Shadow and attacks rapidly with his claws, but Shadow teleports away and counters by kicking him up and spin dashing all over before drop kicking him to the ground and stomps downwards. Zero avoids this and hits him with the Zero buster.
3:48: Zero is noticing that Shadow is getting tired. The large amounts of chaos energy are wearing down his stamina. Zero takes advantage of this and lands a lot of attacks from his claws at all angles, really hurting Shadow and even causes blood to spill. After, finishing, Shadow lays on his knees and Zero turns to leave, believing that Shadow is defeated, but the fight's not done yet.
3:58: Shadow: "Behold, the ultimate power!"
Yellow energy burst from the ground as Shadow tapes into the power of all 7 chaos emeralds and turns into Super Shadow, his energy and stamina are replenished, and his wounds are healed. Zero: "Dark Hold!"
Shadow: "Chaos control!"
Both Shadow and Zero completely stop time to finish the fight. This is it, the final verdict is about to be revealed. Can the Maverick hunter outlast Shadow's super form and land the fatal blow, or is the power of the Ultimate Lifeform to much for Zero to handle?
. . .well, I leave that up to you.

We've all been taught not to beat ourselves up, but that lesson is not going to stop this next one, "Not Just A Theory" (Sans vs Ness).
Honestly, this sounds like the script of an actual Death Battle. As for who takes the win, I'm not sure myself. Zero might be at Solar System level depending on how we interpret Lumine's Paradise Lost and I'm sure he can take anything base form Shadow throws at him. However, Super Shadow has a few cosmic level feats of his own. According to Dr Eggman in Sonic X, the Ark supercharged with the Chaos Emeralds (which also fuel Super Shadow) would cause an explosion greater than a supernova. Plus, the Chaos Emeralds/Super Forms supposedly have greater feats in the portable games (though I can't confirm since I haven't played those).

Zero was able to survive an explosion similar to the meteor that killed the dinosaurs, which is more impressive than anything base form Shadow has done, but the chaos emeralds could move pieces of the earth around. And that same energy is in Shadow, who can match the power of a single chaos emerald when he takes off his inhibitor rings, meaning that he's still doing serious damage. And his super form has the combined energy of all seven of them. I don't believe Zero has ever had to deal with power like that before. So in my opinion, Shadow would win because of his incredible power. And speed too, when scaling him to Sonic's race against a black hole.
@@ColeCrossman2.0 I get why you're considering the feats from the Metal Sonic Vs Zero and Shadow vs Ryuko episodes, however, Zero and Shadow were both handicapped in those videos. They won, yes, but they're much stronger than what was said in those videos.
Zero was capable of defeating the General, who stopped a blast from a weapon that would destroy Earth. This easily puts him at planet level. There is also Lumine's Paradise Lost, an attack which Zero survived and that supposedly destroyed a star. Besides, Zero can dodge Optic Sunflower's light speed attack and likely scales to Duo, who is even faster.
As for Shadow, remember that moving pieces of the Earth was done by a single emerald at a time. When combined, the Chaos Emeralds have way more power than the sum of their parts. We clearly see this in Sonic X/SA2 where 6 emeralds were only enough to destroy half the moon and yet 7 emeralds would cause an explosion greater than a supernova. Also, I know this contradicts him getting sucked into the black hole, but Sonic's speed was enough to restore time and space in Sonic Generations, break out of Null Space and completely mess up Dr Eggman's pocket dimension in the IDW comics, so he's likely much faster than mach 260.000.

What’s great is these songs are objectively good. Even if some aren’t my cup of tea, they are so well made that I can acknowledge their value and effort
These two already appear in Death Battle, so you can likely either go off those stats, or look deeper into their characters and events.
I hoped Shadow would take the win, and had a gut feeling Zero would, so the result I got surprised me. Both are over planetary power and durability as well as being well over FTL+, both have time stops and various projectiles and moves to dish out, and they both have stronger forms that easily outclasses their base forms. There's also things like Cyber-elves and reality-warping chaos abilities, but there's one thing that truly decides the victor here. Cold hard stats.
Simply put, Zero can emit planetary levels of strength and durability, and can match Shadow in speed and abilities, and far exceeds him in experience, but Shadow has fought beings capable of warping space and time on the regular, such as Solaris. He also regularly matches Sonic, who's capable of defeating Time Eater and various mechanical giants.
A more solid feat is Shadow being able to defeat Emerl, who absorbed all seven chaos emeralds before their fight. It is reasonable to assume all seven chaos emeralds are capable of planetary feats, so for Shadow to be able to beat that level means his base form alone is enough to fight on par with planet level beings, such as Emerl, or even Zero.
It's hard to say who wins. Shadow is said to have the power of one chaos emerald, but can beat, or at least keep up with people with all seven emeralds. Zero is likely able to put up a difficult fight given he has lots of attacks and feats himself, but neither of them really exceed the other. Again, both have planetary strength and durability, FTL+ speeds, great amounts of experience and plenty of moves to throw out. Even their abilities and attacks are similar to an extent. Time stop? Both can do it on the fly. Various projectiles? Zero has the elemental advantage, but Shadow does have a variety of different attacks himself in the form of Chaos.
This may end up as a tie, surprisingly enough.
Shadow and Zero might both have star - solar system level feats, so it's really hard to figure out who would win.

It shows a large musuem in Abel City with Zero walking through it. Walking past a display of 7 similar looking gemstones and showing Sonic and his friends.
Zero: Finally. A day I can actually take a break. No Mavericks for me to stop, no Sigma to fight, I'm not dead again.
He then looks at a pod containing a slumbering figure as he passes it. However a crimson red eye then opens in the pod as it looks at Zero (who was leaving the pod before it's eyes focus on the Chaos Emeralds)
The figure places a hand on the glass of the pod as it then reels a fist back.
Zero meanwhile is walking away looking a bit grumpy.
Zero: Though it's so boring I almost wish a Maverick would attack.
Suddenly Zero's eyes widen as he hears the sound of glass breaking before turning around. It shows the figure exit the pod, revealing Shadow.
Shadow: You... I sense a powerful energy within you. One I've never sensed before.
Zero: And you are?
Shadow: I am Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog! The Ultimate Lifeform!
Zero looks a bit surprised before giving a small chuckle.
Zero: Heh, well Shadow. If you're looking for a fight. I can give you one right here.

Admittedly, I would love to see these two duke it out. Personally...I’d be rooting for Shadow. I can see the match ending with him using his Chaos Blast and the resulting explosion annihilating Zero...and probably a good chunk of the moon, or at least it skidding by the moon and Zero’s helmet lands. On it, as shown in the (awesome) artwork.

Two ultimate creations of doctors from the past who, got sealed away due to how dangerous they are until they were turned evil before becoming good guys later on. That is something I wish to see these two duke it out
Dr Gerald is not a good guy in sa2 lol he has a tragic story with his daughter being sick with a rare genetic disorder which is why he is funding the shadow project and his experiment ends up being weaponized and his daughter killed. He literally sends the space ark colony flying towards earth to destroy it because he is just so distraught over his losses

I honestly depends on whether or not if you want to incorporate the Solaris Low-Multiversal feat & scaling which is still dubious even to this day for some reason. Without it, Zero wins hands down, but if the Solaris scaling is used. Shadow takes it without any issue.

Ok the opening had no right to be as cool as it is. Not to mention the music is absolutely amazing.While the art uses Zero's helmet and the music takes some cues from the Megaman Zero series, and I'd love to see (I'm just gonna say Z Zero for simplicity) Z Zero in matchups, I think original Zero would be a more fair matchup. While Z Zero is a very versatile fighter thanks to his wide variety of Weapons, Armors, Chips, and Cyber Elves, the fact he has 0 time stopping abilities just makes it a stomp, and X Zero having a time stop is another similarity between the fighters that's nice. As for X Zero, I do think it's still Shadow, thanks to his tremendous speed from scaling with Sonic, as well as Super Shadow being busted. Their durability is fairly similar, as both have fallen from orbit while taking minimal damage, while in terms of Power I don't think either Zero has shown anything strong enough to beat Shadow.
Z Zero could have all his abilities from both X and Z to make it fair. Also it would fit the whole “Copy of the original thing” since Shadow once thought that he was an android duplicate of the original shadow (I know later on we found out that he wasn’t but you get the point).
@@darksonicyt5430 The problem with giving Z Zero everything from X Zero is that it's a different body. While you could make a case for him having all the experience and muscle memory/training from X Zero, the fact that his body was different means you can't really give him any of the subweapons that make X Zero a powerhouse. Plus giving him those kind of undercuts the fact that it's Z Zero as it'd just be him using X Zero's abilities while occasionally blocking with the Shield Boomerang or something. Edit: At most you could maybe say because he beat Omega he has any of X Zero's physical feats like Durability or Speed, which makes sense but feels a bit disingenuous given Z Zero died in Ragnarok which was fairly similar to the Eurasia explosion that barely hurt X Zero.
@@BillyBob-xx5jr I know Z Zero doesn’t have all the stuff he use to since he was in a copy body, but for the fight you could still give him all his abilities, since it doesn’t have to be canonical to the original. Or better yet, have them change appearances throughout the fight if possible.
@@darksonicyt5430 I guess that's fair, given they use composite forms of Link for example. Maybe for the changing appearances you could do something like having Z Zero fight Shadow for the first half, have him die, then have Shadow fight X Zero in Cyberspace or something.

@@papaG6423 Both of them have appeared on Death Battle and have had their best feats measured. By comparing what they've analyzed for both of them, it's pretty clear that Shadow has the edge, especially in power. Speed as well, since technically Shadow has the edge in base speed, and Zero wouldn't be able to use Dark Hold to close the gap because of Shadow's Chaos Control, and by Death Battle's own logic, this means they essentially cancel each other out. The only areas Zero would have the edge in would be arsenal and probably experience, but against Shadow's overwhelming power and speed, that's not going to do much to help him at all. Shadow takes this one easily. Otherwise, it's actually a good matchup connections-wise, enough that I wouldn't totally mind it if they did it for real, even though I'd absolutely want Zero to win.
This is quite X-cellent. It's very fast paced. This just opens the doors for more Mega Man vs Sonic matchups. Personally, I would prefer if Shadow was matched up with Bass, but this is still great.

Turbo Mecha Sonic (SMBZ) vs Betty Noir (Glitchtale)
- Both come from fan series based on preexisting game franchises (Sonic + Mario and Undertale)
- While their stories have the main characters from their respective inspirations, they are completely different stories and don't scale to things from their games besides pre-established powers and abilities (Mario & Luigi have thier power ups and others like Toriel, Papyrus, and Undyne still have their magic)
- Both are the main antagonists of their respective worlds
- Both have been well known for being terrifying for the main cast and also to the audience due to every action they make usually leading to disaster for the main cast
- Speaking of, there have been many instances where they have actually put the main characters lives in mortal danger and even killed some on screen
(Betty killed Frisk, Sans, Elizabeth, many more humans offscreen and almost killed Gaster, Asriel, Mettaton, and Asgore. Mecha Sonic killed Tails, Knuckles, Cream, Rouge, Amy, Omega and just a lot of Sonic characters offscreen, a Goomba, Mario (he needed a 1-up), The Axem Rangers, and the Koopa bros and almost killed Yoshi & Yoshi tribe, and the main cast almost at the same time)
While the difference in power between them are really obvious since Mecha Sonic is large island level (you could possibly stretch that out to planet surface level at max if you take Sonic's flashback at face value) and Betty is city level at best, I like it more because of the fight potential and the banter. If this was Nazo vs Mecha Sonic it would be way too one sided even without Super forms and there aren't as many connections besides "Super strong Sonic fan characters inspired by dbz" which is why I don't prefer that fight over Mecha Sonic vs Betty

Honestly, I think Bass would be a better opponent for Metal Sonic. Both were created by the antagonist to outdo their hero inspirations.

Both Zero and Shadow were sealed away for long periods of time by their creators before being unleashed by the villain of their series. Both were designed to be the "Ultimate" of their kind. Both were evil before being converted/turned to good. Both fight using tech (Shadow has his jet boots while Zero is a robot). Both have abilities to stop time (Or at least X Zero does). While Bass makes more sense in terms of black and edgy, Zero has about the same if not more similarities.
Bass and Shadow don’t really have many connections other than edgy, and rival to main character. Bass and Metal Sonic is better since both disobeyed their creator, both are rivals to the main character (Metal fights sonic more than Shadow), both of their creators were evil scientists, both have been beaten by the main character more than once while also being stronger than them (I mean, Sonic never really beat Metal on his own so). There might be even more but, you get the point.
Shadow and Zero have a lot more connections. Both were sealed away by an evil scientist for destruction and said evil scientist who sealed them is now deceased. Both of them have a friendly rivalry with the main character. Both of them were evil and then eventually became good. Both of them were presumed dead at one point (With Zero though, it happened more than once). Both of them always gets memories of their deceased creator. Both had a female friend they cared a lot about and is now deceased. Both of them went from cocky to serious (Shadow and Zero were cocky before, but then became more serious. Hard to notice for Shadow but with Zero, it’s more obvious). Both of their rivals/allies is Blue and the main character. I could maybe go on, but you get the point. This is why I love this matchup.
To add to the replies, bass/metal sonic are significantly weaker than shadow/zero, so setting aside similarities the bass/shadow matchup is a lot more predictable than shadow/zero

Zero recovers and both combatants turn towards each other ready for a fight
