    Kenny, the enclosure seems like the only way to go. I really like the quick disassembly ability. Really good review, thanks.

      The quick disassembly is one of the things that sold me on it Paul. Much easier to store it in my smaller shop than it would be to try and store a solid, shop made enclosure. Thanks for tuning in sir and for the kind words.

    That looks like a very nice add on. I'm not into Lasers etc, but I do enjoy seeing the new technologies. It sometimes amazes me how far we have come. In all areas of technology in not that many decades. Enjoyed! Take care!

      I was never into laser either Michael until I got one and then I somehow ended up with 4 of them. I've been enjoying working with them more and more and I am always amazing at what great results they provide when adding embellishments on my woodworking projects. Thanks for tuning in and for chiming in to the conversation.

    This episode a lot of “that’s what she said” moments! Also, I laughed when you talked about the viewing window that let’s you see your work catch fire. Seriously though, great show.

      It works really well Mark. I'm quite pleased with it. I tried it with a painted canvas and you couldn't smell the paint at all which is a bonus. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.

    I have the xTool D1 10 watt with an upgraded with 20watt modual as well as the enclosure it does help and works quiet well. I simply don't use the lid straps... Before I got the enclosure the way I ran my air assist it never interfered with the project as I have run the hose and stropped to the gantry arm rail, there is enough hose...
    I also have the extensions to make the laser twice the size... and the extra extension enclosure. air assist and rotary chuck etc (basically full package for the D1...)
    xTool have just bought out a 40 watt modual ... dang it... :-/

      I saw that they just brought out the 40watt but I have to wonder what advantage there would be to having a 40 watt over the 20watt. Their IR looks intriguing but I think I will be holding off on the 40 watt until I see more about it and how it is reviewed. thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to chime in with your setup. Sounds like you've got things under control.

    I’m building one! Using a pc high volume fan, I bought a blast gate to keep wind and critters out! I’ll send some pictures on the site!

    Ken, the flag for the window here's a thought maybe make a sliding blast gate so you do not have to keep taking out the plywood use can use weather striping and caulking to weather proof around the window and a cover over the flang when not in use, thanks an idea if not sorry for wasting your time, thanks Ken I'm still researching laser cutters/engravers so confusing

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Год назад +1

      That would be a great idea in any other climate than a Canadian winter Alan. LOL. A thin piece of 3/8" thick plywood just isn't going to cut it for any sort of insulation value. I'll stick with my double pain insulated windows for now. Might be a thought for the summer though. Thanks for the suggestion and for tuning in to the show.

    Looks like the Laser Engravers are like the rest of our tools. ….. You buy the original tool and then get to enjoy finding all the different accessories that can go with it 🤣🤠

      The tools for a laser are pretty simple and to be completely honest, an enclosure is easily made in the shop. I just liked the idea of this one being collapsible for storage as my shop is pretty small. Thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to leave you comments Randy.

    This is great information as I was concerned about breathing smoke should I decide to jump in the laser pool

      The portable enclosure seems to do a great job of venting the smoke and fumes out the window Julie. I've been pretty impressed with it. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    Great video. I was wondering if you thin this would work with other lasers, in other words is this a generic cover for most lasers? Have you tried to see if your other laser will fit.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Год назад +1

      I have tried this enclosure with the Wainlux L6 and the Longer Ray5 and it worked perfectly with the Wainlux but the Ray5 did not fit inside the enclosure due to the added on touch screen. For that reason, the Longer has been an outdoor laser only until I can come up with a solution. Thanks for tuning in and for chiming in with your question Scott.

      I've already fixed the issue and use the second enclosure as a spare in my shop and as an enclosure for a couple of my other laser engravers. Thanks for tuning in.
