Hello Dani,This is one of my favorite Elvis songs, and I agree he is in rare form here.Truely the KING of music!!!! No one will ever come close to Elvis!!!!He's one of a kind. Sincerely, Elvis P.S Love all your Elvis reactions.
Great video and choice as usual Dani. Elvis recorded "It Hurts Me" in Nashville on 12 January 1964 and was the last of just three songs recorded at this mini session and was also the only new song at the session. The other two songs "Memphis, Tennessee" and "Ask Me" were remakes of songs he had attempted at a recording session the previous May. All three songs were amongst the best he had recorded since 1960, but the best was left to last. Elvis always seemed to be at his best when telling a story and as the protagonist in this case by the end of the song you are pulled in and sympathetic to the narrators plight. Recorded in just five takes, three of which were false starts, Elvis changes from his normal voice, at times almost at a whisper to one more more powerful at just the right moments, highlighting both the anger and frustration felt by the protagonist.
Wonderful to see a reaction to It Hurts Me - such an underrated masterpiece. This was recorded in 1964 but unfortunately, it was buried on the B-side of movie track Kissin' Cousins which possibly explains why you're not familiar with it. This is a prime example of movie songs taking precedence over often superior non-movie tracks. For a beautiful and heartfelt song like It Hurts Me to receive such treatment - what a travesty. Elvis recorded it again in 1968 for the Comeback Special. It's interesting to compare the two recordings; the later version is more ballsy and guttural. I can't decide which is my favourite. Thanks for your lovely reaction.
The voice and the overall sound of this original studio version are amazing. The 68 comeback version is good but in my opinion this version has the same level that best 60s ballads. Elvis was and is the best!
This is awesome on the video of the 68 special. If u could get that part of the video, you would go crazy, because you can see him. Thanks for this, though. I’m like u, could listen to it over and over. Waiting to hear and see him on Aloha Hawaii sing I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry. It is so bluesy and strong. Have a great weekend!!!
They called Elvis the king of Rock and Roll, but the is he was the king of entertainment. The greatest voice, dance moves still copied today, played multiple instruments and was a good actor in to many bad roles.
Awwww.....Your such a sweet heart ! You will find someone who will treat you like a queen . And yes , this song was also sung in the 68' comeback special .

Wow, finally you heard a song I recommended to you sometime ago. I knew it would hit you as it did. I is a beautiful song. The song is about someone who is trying to reach one that doesn't understand nor gets the message.
Hi Dani good evening from England. I've been an Elvis fan for many years. I would recommend " So glad your mine" and the song that changed the world "Heartbreak Hotel". Many thanks
This is also not a well known Elvis song. In fact, it never charted. I just remember it as being on an album. I have always liked it, though. Hard not to like Elvis, considering he made over 400 recordings. Something for everyone. This song was written by Charlie Daniels, a well known country-rock-bluegrass artist. You always have to give some credit to the people who write these songs. Also, sorry to hear about your bad relationship. Hopefully you are young enough to recover from it. Don't lose your sweetness. That will carry you forward. Never any good to always keep looking back. I speak from way too many experiences. Take care. From the Washington DC area. Just down the road from NY.

I Have to Tell you Something, and everyone else that loves Elvis' music. He was not the king of Rock n Roll He was the King of Music. He wasn't an Entertainer. He was a Singer. An Entertainer can cover quite a few different things on stage. But Elvis' Forte was his Singing Ability, and Singing in Many, Countless Styles that no other singer except Elvis could. In the early days of Elvis' career when he was 19 years old in 1954 and up on stage he was moving his legs and the girls were screaming. He didn't know why they were yelling and screaming. He was wondering what is wrong with the crowd, he thought he was doing something wrong. Scotty Moore his Guitarist said to Elvis it's your left leg man, the way you were moving it drove the girls nuts. The more Elvis did that the more they screamed. He caught on fast. Back then in the 50s they had the baggy pants so it was more noticeable when Elvis was shaking his legs. When Elvis was up on stage he was nervous as hell in the beginning until he lossened up. It was mainly nervous Energy when he first got up on stage. Every Singer Actor, Entertainer, Public Speaker, Suffers From What is Called Stage Fright, they all go through it, no matter how many times they have been on stage including Elvis Presley. The Fans Gave Elvis the Title the King of Rock n Roll. But that Title should Rightly go to Great Little Richard. His Forte was Rock n Roll. He actually self proclaimed himself as the King of Rock n Roll. Little Richard was black, and much harder for Black People to Make a Career out of Singing, Especially in the 50s in the Deep South of America in Mississippi because of Racism. Cheers! 😀
Love this song the best voice ever ❤️ suspicion is another really nice song by the king if you could do a reaction to suspicion that wold be amazing 🙂🙂 Watching from Oxford England
