I really hate fourth of july, cause, yknow, America isn’t exactly something to be proud of at the moment (along with fireworks being really overstimulating) but my family dragged me out to a fourth of july parade yesterday, and a guy walked up to me and gave me (no one else around me, just me specifically) a pamphlet that said “repent to jesus for your sins” I find it hilarious cause he just walked right up to me specifically like “yep that’s a sinner right there if I’ve ever seen one” 💀maybe it’s my colored hair lol
I had the reverse happen to me at one point, I was getting my id at the DMV and a booth giving out Christian pamphlets outside the exit gave one to everyone who left except me 💀
I’m lucky to have a birthday really close to July 4th, so not only can I travel to have a party somewhere and not have to hear the fireworks in my neighborhood, but I can also tell my family I’m not celebrating the 4th cause my birthday is more important And they’ll just think I’m being jokingly self absorbed and I don’t have to explain that there’s nothing for me to celebrate about this country lol

That’s kinda funny, my mom brought me to a 4th of July festival today, and I was wearing my tiger tail (fake fur) and some kid blasted by me and ripped my tail clean off of me! I got it back because he dropped it like five feet away from me, and now I have to repair it because the clip came off. Im glad I wasn’t wearing one of my taxidermy ones, that would’ve been much harder to repair if something happened to it.

TO ME !!! I have a bunch of pins that are all like very very leftist (I made a Marx pin and used the fact I'm a sociology major to get permission to wear it) and then as she was leaving she told me she was glad I wasn't like the other girl who works there with her hair and her clothes... I was a good picturesque Christian girl wasn't i? (I'm not a Christian person, I am decidedly and very very proudly atheist) so ever since then I have had bright colorful hair but idk maybe the dresses make me look Christian lol but yeah that night I like grabbed dye and dyed my hair because I was sooooo annoyed 😭😭😭

I'm proud to be an atheist because well, I am, it's my belief, just like any Christian (or other religious person) can be proud in their belief/faith. besides I probably know a lot more about church doctrine, history, and scripture in general than you do, and I'd say I'm living a life closer to the one 'god' wanted people to than you, since I follow Matthew 7:1-2 and Corinthians 13:4-7 closely and arguably my atheism is adherent with Romans 2:12.
I have some genuinely super exciting news. So, I don't know if you guys know this, but I was adopted cause my mom did cocaine when she was pregnant with me. And I wasn't allowed to contact her (or her contact me) until I was 18. And well, I'm 18 now, so I tried reaching out, and it worked. I got back in contact with my birthmom and my birth brother, who is a lot like me. I am so fucking excited.
My block is having a little party for 4th of July and i went to hang out. My mom made plum cake to bring, there were snow cones, and i roller skated around while sword fighting with balloon swords that my old babysitters' dad makes. It was fun but really warm
