Its maybe some substance that appears when only when light flashes. You can see after he takes the picture, the camera angle changes to his face so the editors know it was there all along appearing in the photo albums bottom left corner of the camera
nice spot. My best guess is that it has something to do with the flash. It's broad daylight, the regular camera app woudln't trigger the flash. That can't be a coincidence. He must've turned it on on purpose. That also explains why the camera angle switches as he takes the picture. The wallet is a "magic wallet" that somehow reacts to the flash and makes the card visible on the picture - Remember, it's Asi's wallet, not Hubermans. The card that will appear is predetermined and the real trick is then to make Huberman guess that exact card. No idea how he does that though.
@@JB_inks Took me a minute to think that through but my best guess is that the wallet has a screen where the card should appear and a light sensor, and when the flash from the camera hits the sensor the screen quickly flashes the image of the card so that it shows up on the photo. Then it's just a matter of "forcing" the person to pick that card which is something that I know good card magicians can do.
@@ImOnAGoat91 He doesn't have him think of the 3 of hearts, he forces him to draw the 3 of hearts. He had him think of the 3 of diamonds, and tell him, then he stalls, finds it with the deck face down somehow and then sneaks it in the wallet when he asks him to draw card halfway out the first time. It's the only time he's touching the wallet with the deck and his hands as obstruction so it has to be then. The execution and slight of hand is still baffling though. The rest is just showmanship.

Anyone else notice Huberman's😢 right forearm vanish into thin air after they handshake and while he raises his arm above his head around 10:43-10:44 into the video? 😢
Unfortunately I have no idea how Asi forces or keeps track of the J❤-I suspect something happened during the bit that was cut. When Wind takes out the cards, a 4 is the bottom card. When he fans them out, it is a different card. I would need to see what he did with the cards and know what he said to Andrew during that time. However, from 0:45 onward: - He takes back the cards. Immediately he staggers the deck , marking the location of the _target card_ -He carefully pushes the deck to Huberman using only his thumb to push from the very bottom of the deck. It keeps the cards from shifting, retaining the stagger. This is cleverly performed as a gesture meant to convey the sincerity with which Asi does not desire to manipulate the cards. -He starts cutting packets of cards off the top. Ideally he wants the participant to stop him right as he picks up the last of the staggered portion of the deck. To help with this, he uses a clever little signaling trick. After a few cuts, he picks up the rest of the staggered portion of the deck in a noticeably larger chunk of cards and slaps them down with ~20% more force than the others. -the participant says stop because they are being subtlety pressured into doing so. 1, an unexpected number of cards were just cut and at the new rate the participant feels they are at risk of failing to complete their single task and 2, slapping them down on the table instantly prompts humans to question whether the table-slapper is becoming impatient. -Asi stops, _seemingly_ in the middle of moving a packet that is in fact a single card. He asks Andrew if he should move it or put it back, but it’s too late! He has already cheated and put the card back without permission. Huberman tells him he wants them moved, _but Asi corrects him_ “we’ll move one more.” -Alas, this too is a lie. Right now, Wind knows that the top card of the pile he’s cutting off is the Jack, and he’s holding the last staggered card. If you tell him to finish moving the cards, he _doublelifts_ the top 2 cards and puts them on top of the right stack. -If he says 2nd card, you let the participant draw the card on their own and the effect is amazing. If he says first card (which I assume is uncommon) then Asi has to reveal the card himself and use another doublelift. - _however_ if the participant says not to move the pile then you simply leave them as they are, with a junk card on top and the Jack as the 2nd card. The only difference is now you do the finale with the other stack of cards. Now the stack of remaining cards is all setup rather than the stack of cut cards.
I'm with you on this. The one thing that cannot be figured out from this video is how Asi either coaches him to say Jack of Hearts (with pre-show or something?) or how Asi can keep track of the Jack of Hearts in a deck that was shuffled and he never touches.

so much more going on here than just tricks. this goes way deeper
This is incredible, you would enjoy the work of Derren Brown. He has been on Joe Rogan but there was much they didn’t touch on. You two would have a fascinating discussion!
So many are asking: At 10:40 what you're seeing is a common microphone masking trick. There are mics positioned above, but before you shoot you take a clip without the mics and then mask over the actual recording. Nothing related to the magic trick.
For those who don't know: Asi Wind is an absolute genius. He is the mind behind a lot of David Blaine's performances. He's got this version of "Triumph", which is so hot damn creative... I came up with an easier way of doing it, which does not require a pressure fan, but the rest is his. I do 2 "Triumphs" now: his, and the Irish Shuffle. His creative mind and contributions to the art of magic are significant.
At 7:52 he puts the card in the wallet as we are thinking he's making a mistake in the way he suggests the card. Your attention his took in a clever way.
@@SmarterTebyafor the phone, it seems when he takes the phone he hits the screen once around the middle of the screen which is where the clock icon (history) is, so he gets the number from there and push back the phone and reverse it so its not visible from huberman position. Then when he looks at the cards he finds where he could create this combinaison in forward or reverse order, he somehow highly suggest the wanted cards to huberman, then notice he reverse them.
Do you mean he uses his pinky/ring finger to put the card in the wallet when his hand is over the Wallet in that 3 second window? And he puts it inside that compartment?
@TinyTardigrade460Its not Hubermans wallet, its Asis, as he said. So its a prepared one, that has an opening on the side, so he can push the card in. When he asked Huberman to open the wallet again, Hubermans fingers touched the side that has the secret opening und Asis intervened immediately and corrected Huberman to open it how its supposed to, so he can't notice the trick.
This is a good catch. I think the card is always in there. The actual magic is the card suggestion. the stumble over the wallet, he is triggering something to remove the covering that made it wallet look empty. As for the photo, whatever was blocking it is reactive to the camera flash. meaning when photographed with the flash, it reveals the card. Maybe far fetched, but that's my 2cents.
This is just a guess, but. If you look at Asi when he grabs the phone, he quickly presses the flash button with his right thumb. Why? There's no reason to use a flash inside that well lit studio using a modern phone. Except there is, IF the black background material inside the ID compartment of the wallet reveals the three of hearts only under the harsh light of a flash. He then placed the phone donwnward. If he would he have shown the photo right away, the three of hearts would already have been there and the trick ruined. In addition, the video was edited so the wallet was not shown on camera when the photo was taken and flash went of, as that could have revealed the trick. 7:08
At 7:14 you can kind of see that the card already appears in the window of the wallet. So this means the window in the wallet is fabricated using diffraction grating in such a way that it will produce the card when a flash is used. Similar to those paparazzi scarfs that over expose a picture.
Mr Huberman thank you very much for your tips i recently followed your tips for sleeping better by dropping the temprature down which you said in one of your videos what i did was i opened the window for fresh air and it helped and made me sleep better at night which made me wake up early thank you so much for your tips Mr Huberman 😊
If you slow down after he takes the picture, you can see him click the lower left image to pull it up and its the picture with the card. Can also slightly see the "card" outline on the right side
Good catch. It must be special cover that shows up when with the flash of the camera. It seems odd to have the flash on in a room that is lit for filming.
Yeah there could be something like you guys are saying. If there was some funny business I notice the first time they have him take out the card from the same spot the magician makes sure he pulls the card out and then legs huberman touch it. Perhaps if huberman stuck his hand in there he'd feel something odd. Not to mention he did it with his own wallet and not hubermans. But he did use hubermans phone.
It's a common microphone masking trick. There are mics positioned above, but before you shoot you take a clip without the mics and then mask over the actual recording. Nothing related to the magic trick.
You can see him prep the right card right after he tells him "Ace of diamonds" at 2:27 then does the switcheroo (you can hear it) - notice he keeps most of the card covered when he shows the 'wrong' card, then the camera doesn't show his hands as the switch is made.
I hope that I’m wrong but it appears as though the answer to the question “why does huberman hand disappear in the end at 10:40?” need to be answered both for the reputation of magic and for the reputation of huberman unfortunately. Insane set of tricks though!

@@isakekelund Well, I didn't make the video myself of course, but it is a very common technique for masking a mic. There's no reason to suspect anything else. In any case, Asi Wind is a famous magician, you can search youtube for other tricks by him, or you can even sign up for a magic course by him or buy his tricks. So, I have no reason to think this was accomplished by any camera trickery (except for the phone camera trick obviously), or that Andrew was playing a stooge in any way.
@@isakekelund Also if you want to learn how to do this mic masking edit for your own videos or are just curious how it's done, you can find RUclips how to videos on that as well.
There's multiple layers of magic here. There's the magic tricks which are absolutely amazing. If you were to learn how the effects works the amazement disappears. But if you were to take the time to practice the trick and try to perform them yourself you would likely discover you're not able to do it. It takes a unique brain to really pull this stuff off.

10:41 right here when he does the “mind blown” gesture with his hand, you see his hand get cut off toward the top the screen. Im no tech wiz so idk if thats something else or what. But in the context of this video, it makes me wonder if theres any editing foul play here to fool us. I just found that odd
That is actually a useful trick. The microphone hangs above his head and it is masked in editing with footage they took of the empty wall. This specific camera must stay still through the whole show or else you'll see the wall move except for the part that is masking the mic.
I loved that. And I loved that you allowed us to take a little bit of a look at the trick. The 7:13 shows clearly that Andrew holds the wallet with the card in the picture when Asi puts the phone away.

5:30 pull 1,2,3 or 4 cards... he picks 3 but makes him take 4 then when shots are cut out in order to view each card then we all know there could have been some editing done. So just by that I could say it was all a set up by these 2 guys and cards are marked. Unless you guys believe in super powers lol
No, I think it's genuine. It's just that "magicians" are good at making you think you're picking/making choices...when you are picking what they want you to pick

If its not a set up which is most likely the case. Then the best explanation in my opinion would be that this magician is getting helped by some sort of metaphysical sentient beings AKA the Jinn
With the 7679 trick i think he looked at the history of the calculator when looking at the phone when Andrew wasn't paying attention and then he positioned the combination of cards for him to take.
Several people have explained the calculator portion of the trick to get the number Andrew entered, but how do you explain the empty wallet now having a card in it, and then the photo of the wallet being the second card Andrew picked?

Watch the 3 of diamonds "MAGICALLY" appear on hubermans phone at 0.25x speed 7:12. Absolutely crazy!
Well spotted. What's going on there?
So big mind blown that even the hand disappeared :D 10:40
lol now I'm even more confused
This, perhaps is the answer.
its the green screen i suppose
So Huberman was in on the tricks, just goes to show how good he's gotten at lying to us 😂

Not seeing anything 😢
What’s up with Huberman’s hand disappearing mid air at 10:40? Seems like something is being cropped out overhead.
on 7:12. You see after he took the photo, he tapped the "album button" ( lower left corner ) BEFORE he lays down the phone, and in split second if you pause, you can see the FINAL photo is already showing, although blurry. I still don't know he got the card in the photo, however there's a camera cut at the moment when the flash activates, that should be telling, maybe the wallet material reacts to flash?. Ha, I still don't' know how the card got in the photo, but that's how much I could catch. Fun stuff.
As someone who does this trick, you are very very close to the method, good job. Just put both of your statements together.
My wife & I saw Asi in NYC & I got us tickets at his table (you're legit as close as Huberman is). This dude is a warlock or something bc he is UNBELIEVABLY smooth IRL, were he to get outed one day as an ACTUAL wizard I'd be like "That makes sense".😂😂😂
I also chose the three of diamonds before you said your card. Fascinating!!
haha me too
I did the same. So odd. I wonder if he sets up his words in a way that highly suggested for us to think of that card?
Same here.
@@randygonzalez5758That's not odd. It's only 52 cards. So, some people are bound to have thought of the same card. It would be odd if no one but Huberman did.
@@MrSidney9 Just curious. When Asi Wind asked Andrew to think of a card did you think of a different card than him or did you not also guess?
This moment, when you know what Asi is doing and it still fools you. Asi, I love you! Thanks for making us all feel like kids again.

That is seriously amazing. True magic.
Anyone else notice Huberman's😢 right forearm vanish into thin air after they handshake and while he raises his arm above his head around 10:43-10:44 into the video? 😢
I've been watching card magic for years and this was like seeing it for the first time - just an amazing performance
usually I click on the video to see how much of the video is left , but man-o-man this is wild. Goodness gracious me!!
However, from 0:45 onward:
- He takes back the cards. Immediately he staggers the deck , marking the location of the _target card_
-He carefully pushes the deck to Huberman using only his thumb to push from the very bottom of the deck.
Huberman tells him he wants them moved, _but Asi corrects him_ “we’ll move one more.”
-Alas, this too is a lie.
It’s stooge work - the guy is in on it

So many are asking: At 10:40 what you're seeing is a common microphone masking trick.
There are mics positioned above, but before you shoot you take a clip without the mics and then mask over the actual recording. Nothing related to the magic trick.

Something akin to what Dani De Ortiz does in his own chaotic giggly style ❤ also this powerful force among seeming randomness. Very well done!!

An incredible, incredible performance. I do wonder about the editing of the video with that first effect.
At 7:52 he puts the card in the wallet as we are thinking he's making a mistake in the way he suggests the card. Your attention his took in a clever way.
briliant observation
I love magic AND Huberman Lab!! The last trick is incredible!!! ❤🤩
At 7:14 you can kind of see that the card already appears in the window of the wallet. So this means the window in the wallet is fabricated using diffraction grating in such a way that it will produce the card when a flash is used. Similar to those paparazzi scarfs that over expose a picture.
You mean the reflection of his hands???? Lmao
The best trick in the video is Huberman's hand dissappearing at 10:39

😅
for real. how come is that?

If you slow down after he takes the picture, you can see him click the lower left image to pull it up and its the picture with the card. Can also slightly see the "card" outline on the right side
Great spot. So, the whole thing is staged then? There's no other way a photo of a guy holding his own wallet appears on his own phone
@@eus9 Not completely sure, but its a "card" that must be covered with a special paint or tape or something that reflects correctly in pictures only
It's hard to be a magician these days because everyone knows how the tricks work, but the execution of the illusions is a beautiful art.

You can see him prep the right card right after he tells him "Ace of diamonds" at 2:27 then does the switcheroo (you can hear it) - notice he keeps most of the card covered when he shows the 'wrong' card, then the camera doesn't show his hands as the switch is made.

With the 7679 trick i think he looked at the history of the calculator when looking at the phone when Andrew wasn't paying attention and then he positioned the combination of cards for him to take.
I thought the same thing
Most likely yeah
I don't think iPhone calculator has a history
He also cut the deck and placed it under the table then grabbed new cards before the phone trick.
he simply pressed the = sign again, which on iPhones adds the last number again and subtracted the previous number to get the original
Several people have explained the calculator portion of the trick to get the number Andrew entered, but how do you explain the empty wallet now having a card in it, and then the photo of the wallet being the second card Andrew picked?
That shuffling! 😂
