By luck, I found your most informative video. I'm now a subscriber and your fan. (By the way, "coxinha" in Portuguese means "little thigh" and is commonly used to mean Chicken leg. So the coxinha you ate is made to look like a chicken leg and contains bits of chicken surrounded by the soft fried dough. Good choice.)
Your response to the blanket and pillow on the bus was just delightful! Don’t you just love that cushy, snuggly feeling you get when you can hug a pillow, and the security of hiding under a blanket, out of sight? I like being warmer under the blanket, while cooler air is circulating over top of me. That bus is like a commercial jetliner - and I’d bet the driver and staff run it with a sense of pride!

To me the sleeper bus works perfectly because I usually take medication when travelling in vehicles (nausea) and it makes me drowsy, so I tend to just sleep it off. I also don't eat a lot when travelling due to my condition, so the snacks in the sleeper class are just enough for me, I don't need to buy anything else in the shops. :) I'll just have a proper meal when I arrive at my destination. Nature is gorgeous there too, if that's something you are interested in. Do ask locals for suggestions.

It once took me 13 hours to from Curitiba to Floripa (due to roadwork and holiday traffic), I would have loved to be in a bus like that! Make sure you check out the Mercado Municipal since you're in the Florianópolis city center, they have super fresh seafood.
I once took *EIGHT HOURS* to go from São Paulo to São Vicente (on the coast, next to Santos) by car. That's just 80 km and would normally take just an hour and a half (counting the traffic within the city before taking the road). It was New Year's Eve and I saw the year change at midnight while I was still descending the slopes of Serra do Mar. We left at 5:30 PM and only arrived in São Vicente at 1:30 AM! Later I read that *2 MILLION* cars were going down to the coast at that time! I swore that I'd never do that again.

I have an architect friend in Florianopolis who, I met her in Rome while I was playing a Europe guitar tour. She was the most beautiful creature I have ever met. 18 years later, that's still the case. Don't tell my wife I said so... 😂 The bus systems here in Mexico are a mixed bag of nuts. Some buses have square wheels and exhaust leaks and smelly seats. But, the other half... Just like Brazil. "Europe quality" buses. There is a brand of bus that they call "executive class" which has only half as many seats, that lay all the way back, very wide, bed-like. The suspension is so that you don't feel the road at all. No middle of the road, here. The buses are either fantastic or they suck horribly. Guarana was available everywhere in the United States in Texas and energy drinks in the United States for a half dozen years. It was cheap, it was the only energy supplement that didn't make my heart get palpitations, and it actually helped my energy levels. And then, it became extremely hard to find, and eventually, you can't find it. Nicely done video. Enjoyed it. I'm considering making my channel into something similar to yours, where I detail my daily life. I purchased a GoPro for my motorcycle helmet that I'll also use for vlogging and adventures, Fishing trips, travel, shopping, cooking... Planning a tomahawk steak video soon... And maybe I'll do some live piano and guitar music videos My wife is encouraging me. The only thing stopping me is I'm retired, and don't want to do a second career. My wife is young but I'm an old man, happily retired. Maybe she can do a RUclips channel?

I believe that traveling by bus in Brazil is very safe, it is clear that the biggest problems that usually happen are due to people's lack of care/innocence, such as: taking care of your personal belongings, avoiding using expensive adornments (watches, chains, cell phones), walking down the street with a camera around your neck....
Dear Alina - thank so much for such a nostalgic ride - made this leg years ago when visiting my friend in Flo - I just took my long-haul bus from Asuncion, so it took a bit longer. But I like so much to travel in SA by these long liners, even through it takes more than 12h flight to get first to Sao Paulo. But it's so professional business and all these double deckers are just suberb. The longest ride I took some years ago was from SP to Lima with Ormeno bus, it took over 5 days but was definitely worth of it...
That was a pretty skookum bus you were on. If you've got to be delayed while traveling, it's nice to be comfortable. Which unless you are paying big bucks, you don't usually get. Nice scenery on the drive.

I love Guarana! I grew up in Rio, and vendors used to walk up and down Copacabana Beach, selling it, calling out, "Guarana!". I've forgotten how to speak Portugues, which is so weird to me.
Harriet and I found bus travel in Brasil so relaxing and very comfortable. We think it's the best in the world. I'm sure you got a lot of your work done. Another fine video from one of the best.
Be Well. Stay Safe my friend. Harriet and I continue to volunteer and contribute to helping Ukraine. Our thoughts and prayers are to your family and the people of Ukraine. Love you dearly😍😍

I once worked in a company 80km away from my city, they took us by bus and brought us back to the city by bus. It was the period of my life i was the most Grateful and relaxed, i thanked god a lot for giving such a beautiful and big land for us and the bus was quite confortable, It was not a sleeper but a semi and was made by the same Brazilian bus manufacturer showed on the video.
Happy to hear you had that experience as well!
I live in the USA, but I am from Curitiba. Thank you for your awesome videos. They bring a smile to my face. You really show all the good things from my country.
Im originally from Rio, but living in Florida for some time. Many, many times I flew into São Paulo and decided to take a bus to Rio in order to skip a long layover at the airport. The buses are actually way more comfortable than the economic class cabin in most planes, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed as well.
Desr Alina
Thanks so much for your magnificent, detailed and charming video.
Funny, I was thinking of traveling between Curitiba and Florianopolis and casually looked at RUclips.

Very exciting :)

There are curtains that you can close for more privacy.
I really love yours videos!
I'm Brazilian old men triying to be better in english language.
And trust me, you are helping me!!!
Thank you!
I'm glad!
Bom saber que nosso país é reconhecido obrigada pelo carinho
Coxinha is made out of cassava flour. Makes for such a soft dough, I love it.
You made an good choice, brasil sul is the best bus company if you want to travel in a sleeper class. Since its very comfortable.
Hi Alina! Super luxury bus travel! The look and feel resembles first-class airplane travel! Congratulations on 160K subscribers! Вітаємо! (Vitayemo!)
Thank you, Gediminas! Hope you're doing well!
@@AlinaMcleod Alina if you want to know a truly paradisiacal place in Brazil, you have to go to the Northeast of the country to see the Lençóis Maranhenses. It's a spectacular landscape!
Enjoy Floripa! I usually visit during vacations (I'm from Rio Grande do Sul, just below) and it's such an interesting region to explore. Nature is gorgeous there too, if that's something you are interested in. Do ask locals for suggestions.
OMG, just wanna travel like this
My experience with long trip buses in Brazil was good in general, I only had an issue with one company called Helios, they had very old buses and it broke on the road, it took them several hours to fix it
I think this company went bankrupt
you are visiting the places you want and showing a bit of the world for us 🥰❤. hope you liked my country.
I sure did!
Andar de ônibus no Brasil e seguro sim bela paisagem pra se olhar
You need to go to Gramado - RS!! Top of one of the most beautiful cities in Brazil!
Brazilian buses are incredible!
Hello! There are some nice places you should visit here in Brazil.
Parati, Chapada Diamantina, Bonito , Jalapão and Lençóis Maranheses. They are very far away from each other , but totally worth it!
Also Minas Geraes: Ouro Preto
@J Junior para quem gosta de História e arquitetura Ouro Preto é uma ótima cidade para se visitar.
Hi Alina, i'am from Manaus!! Adoro seus videos mostrando um pouco de nossa cultura, do seu ponto de vista !! Fico feliz por ver sempre em seu sorriso, e em seus olhos, a alegria de estar vivenciando momentos únicos em nosso país. 😘
It once took me 13 hours to from Curitiba to Floripa (due to roadwork and holiday traffic), I would have loved to be in a bus like that!
Make sure you check out the Mercado Municipal since you're in the Florianópolis city center, they have super fresh seafood.
Omg that is INSANE. 13hrs. Wow.
13 hours!? My God. Usually it takes 12 hours to get from Florianópolis to Londrina at the north of PR.
I swore that I'd never do that again.
congratulations on the 160K subscribers you deserve did you know I hope your channel can grow more and more not only here in Brazil but in other countries you visit I hope you enjoy a lot here in Brazil with your tours. success to you See 👏🙏❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷

Viajar por longa distância no Brasil é sem dúvida confortável e seguro sim. Não temam essa experiência porquê é muito bom 👍👍👍
WOW the bus stopped in Joinville, my city. You should visit Joinville especially in July when a biggest dance festival takes place “The Joinville Dance Festival”. The city of Joinville, in the state of Santa Catarina, hosts a big dance festival that receives 200.000 participants including visitors from all over Brazil attracted by the more than 170 hours of dance and performances. Greetings!!!! ❤
7:51 passing right across my house!!! Welcome! Ha, a friend of mine lives in the same bulding where you stayed.
That's a wow bus for sure.😲👍😊
Wow, that bus looked really nice! Definitely worth the extra money!
Watching Alina Mcleod sleep so peacefully makes me just want to snuggle underneath the duvet and not get up!
Congrats on 160k subscribers. Instead of taking a bus, I’d just run along side it
I have an architect friend in Florianopolis who, I met her in Rome while I was playing a Europe guitar tour. She was the most beautiful creature I have ever met. 18 years later, that's still the case. Don't tell my wife I said so... 😂
The bus systems here in Mexico are a mixed bag of nuts.
And maybe I'll do some live piano and guitar music videos
My wife is encouraging me. The only thing stopping me is I'm retired, and don't want to do a second career. My wife is young but I'm an old man, happily retired. Maybe she can do a RUclips channel?
BEAUTIFUL BUS CURITIBA ALINA MCLEOD ENJOY THE JOYRIDE ROXETTE SONG
I Love Curitiba! Alina, I think you need to visit us here in Maranhão, to see Lençois Maranhense. Can be a wonderfull experience. have a nice trip
Detail: Some scenes from the movie "Avengers" "Infinite War 2018 and Endgame 2019" were recorded in "Lençois Maranhenses" due to the beauty of the place. If you are going to visit the "Lençois Maranhenses" take the opportunity and do the "Rota das Emoções" which covers three states in the northeast of Brazil "Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará". With that you know the Lençois Maranhenses, the Delta do Parnaiba and Jericoacoara. Travel companies make a package to visit these three places.
@@silvaa7300 Yes, the scenes of the planet Vormir where the Soul Stone was.
Another brazilian place used in a Marvel movie is the Iguaçu Falls, it appears in the post credit scene of Captain America Civil War when they first showed Wakanda.
But both scenes are full of CGI and effects it's not easy to see it's a brazilian place.
A new subscriber just getting on board here, Alina. Thanks for the bus ride! Cheers!
Great ! that you liked Brazil. A hug from Brazilians.

Another great vlog!! Guarana is a great drink!!! You're right Brazil is the only country where you can buy it.
Viajar é muito bom,e foi maravilhoso saber que fizeste uma ótima viagem de ônibus pelas estradas do nosso Brasil!🙌
Seja bem vinda ao Brasil, vá a Balneário Camboriú que é perto de Florianópolis e Bonito no MS.
Passeios pelo Brail, sao maravilhosos, tem lugares incriveis.
Great video. I took the bus from Sao Paulo to Florianopolis. 12 hour ride, but it was very comfortable and scenic.
O ônibus é mais confortável que muitos aviões comerciais boa viagem
Always welcome to Brazil 🧡🇧🇷
You are brave, even though you are afraid of the unknown you don't paralyze, go in faith and courage to break new ground.🇧🇷
🇧🇷 simplesmente espetacular.
Excellent video. Congratulations! Glad you loved the trip. I'm glad you liked this trip in my country. I already made this same route, only by car! Florianópolis is beautiful and the people too!
The white amenities packet says : ¨Viação Garcia - Nascemos para ir além ¨. That means :
Garcia Bus Company - ¨We were born to go beyond ¨
Cool! Here in Brazil unfortunately we don't have a good sort of public transportations, like trains, and airplanes are very expensive. So, our travels often is realized by bus, and in they are very comfortable in the most part of the country, especially when we can pay for the sleepers one xD. I think BrasilSul is the best bus company that we have in the country

What a way to enjoy going from one place to another. That bus was a dream come true, I have seen you travel by bus many times, but this is in another class and you deserved the upgrade you took. When I see you flash your smile, then we know that everything is OK with you. We are glad you took that way to travel, I think we could soak up that trip with no problem.
