Awww Alina, we understand. You are in a beautiful place, but it’s hard to enjoy because your thoughts are somewhere else. Our hearts go you, your family, and the people of Ukraine❤️

Aliba thanks for the video - beautiful beach. I will understand if you decide to leave Brazil to handle your family issue in Ukraine. Glad that you are making a family is your priority. Hang in there and be strong my friend
My thoughts and prayers to family and friends in Ukraine during this difficult time. I applaud you Alina, keep up the vlogs as it will give your heart purpose. We all can continue our lives but are not forgotten the current atrocities. Prayers Alina🇺🇦🇨🇦
Hi Alina! All of a sudden these are not normal times, and it’s much more challenging to go on with our everyday lives like it was normal. But that’s what we need to do more often than not. If you decide to stay and work in Brazil, maybe there are some ways that you can bring your Ukrainian-Canadian self into Brazil and Brazilian life. Among South American countries, Brazil has the largest community of Ukrainians. Seek them out. Many are also trying to support family in Ukraine. Your potential interactions with Ukrainian-Brazilian communities, especially during these volatile times, would result in some very relevant and interesting content. And if you must go back to Canada, no one should be disappointed. Family comes first. Alina, I’m sending much love, best wishes, and positive vibes!!!
She should go to the Memorial Ucraniano/Ukrainian Memorial in Curitiba. I know there are some descendents who work there. They still have family in Ukraine and they speak the language as well
Not even WWIII could bring me back to Canada. Things are going to get really weird before they get better. Your family is probably happy that your away from the craziness. Keep your head up and continue on is my vote! 🙂
I'm very glad to hear your family is safe. This is so heartbreaking to see and hear all that has happened. I pray God will bring many blessings to your family and keep them strong. 🌻🌻🌻
I hope your family is well and that the war ends. I just watched JetLag Warriors video and saw you saying that you have ukrainian relatives. Brazil has an ukrainian community in the state of Paraná, if all these problems hadn't happened it would be a good place to visit.

Dear Alina, please stay! Of course you're worried, and your content isn't going to remain the upbeat and absolutely inspiring thing it has been till now. But you don't need to put on a happy face for us, we get it. An introspective you is fine, and that'll allow you to contribute financially, if...or when (hopefully not) the situation deteriorates in Ukraine. Many people want the best for you. My view is that taking a week out to review the very fast moving situation (from Brazil) would be best. And we all want what's best for you. #beyourownkindofbeautiful

Having seen your family from your videos, it truly brings the situation close to home. Here's hoping the madness somehow will end. Can't imagine how badly average Russians feel about it, too, being forced to turn on one of their closest allies. Just insane. For my two cents, I would hope you can continue your travels. Even though it will be tough to do given where your head is at, you are already there and it would be a shame to do anything to interrupt the momentum you have with your channel, particularly after putting your heart and soul into it for the past few years. You can always film in Alberta, but there is nothing like an exotic location most people will never get to to generate interest. Plus, other than sending your family money, there is not much more you can do for them now anyway, so you might as well do what you can to continue to generate an income. Btw, fwiw, really think those sunglasses suit you! Found the beach you are on in google maps. It is huge! I guess that's why they call it grande...duh-uh!!! So sorry you had to pass through all that… Started to follow your trip around Rio and enjoying. Hope it would have ended well and that your family turned out to be Ok. Crazy world we all are in these days, no matter wäre you go to, or stay at. God bless you.
I love your videos! I am married to a Brazilian and have spent a lot of time in Brazil over the last 20 years. One piece of advice for travelers from Canada or the US is to be aware that culturally Brazil is very different than the English-speaking world so to really experience the country authentically, don't seek out the familiar, but keep to the adage, "When in Rome." When you went to have brunch I was wondering how in the world that would look because that is somethng that is unique to our culture, Brazilians do not have this. They call their morning meal "morning coffee" but they eat a substantial lunch, they never blend the two. I find when Brazilians offer American food or experiences, they are often very different than what we would expect, so if you are ok with that, great, but just be prepared. I remember my first hamburger in Brazil and it was very different, not better or worse, but not too special. However, when I tried this hamburger-like sandwich, a proprietary creation at a little cafe in my husband's hometown that existed nowhere else in Brazil, that was mind-blowing and delicious! So keep an open mind and do as the Brazilians do! 😊
It’s super disappointing to see this on the world stage and the impact it is having on so many people in and outside Ukraine. One of my closest friends in college was Ukrainian and I’m happy to have learned about the social and political conditions leading up to this assault. Me met in our local Orthodox Church and I’m happy to have seen many Ukrainians and Russians together and close with one another. I hope that church is a microcosm of what will be between Russia and Ukraine. As our bishop stated, “this fratricide must end”
Alina, I am Brazilian and I wanted to offer my solidarity to the Ukrainian people. Brazil has the fourth largest community of descendants of Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine gave us Clarice Lispector, one of the main names in Brazilian literature. Whatever your decision, I totally support it!!

We are all rooting for you and Ukraine, Alina- I know this may be silly but pass along my 2 bits to your relatives in Ukraine to do what ever they can to destroy, flood or clog up the western roadways along the Belarus border between Kiev and the Polish border starting north of Kiev at P37 and P35 and working westward toward the Polish border. The river will be a helpful guard to the east and the only obvious other short way to Kiev is the western route per above. Your adversaries are well aware of this. + Alina Mcleod : You should stay. If you go back home you are going to sit and worry 24/7 and that will send you crazy. Being busy and trying to keep your mind occupied is the best thing you can do. It's not that you don't care for your family but the best you can do is pray and hope they make it through this. Going home will make you focus on this 24/7 which isnt good.
After your Columbia incident I thought you did the right thing by continuing, get back on the horse that bucked you and all, better for your future mental state. This one is more complicated. I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself what’s best. Either way the community here will support your decision and of course the most heartfelt hopes and prayers for the health and safety of your family and friends and the good people of Ukraine. God bless.

Its so dark times and so unreal😔 stay strong and safe Alina, my thoughts to you and your family and all of Ukraine 🇺🇦
Take care🤗/ Jonas🇸🇪
+ Alina Mcleod : You should stay. If you go back home you are going to sit and worry 24/7 and that will send you crazy. Being busy and trying to keep your mind occupied is the best thing you can do. It's not that you don't care for your family but the best you can do is pray and hope they make it through this. Going home will make you focus on this 24/7 which isnt good.
May the Blessings Be.
God bless.
