Hey guys, thanks for travel in our big and distinct country. Brazilian cities has big Bus Stations because we unfortunately don't have a railway infrastructure like USA or Canada.
As you can see, Brazil has a serious problem with housing... One thing that I think can help change this is the Wood frame, a building system that you Canadians have been using for decades. It turns out that masonry is very expensive and requires much more care as it has 10 times more weight than wood frame... Poor Brazilians don't usually have the money to buy a lot or hire a architect, from there he invades the hills and builds the favelas on his own. Wood frame, being a simpler, cleaner and cheaper method, allows houses to be built on their own without offering as many risks as Masonry. That's it, Brazil is starting to build with Wood, who knows, maybe in a few years these favelas won't end, right? And everyone can have decent housing. I think it still takes a long time, but I have hope...
If there’s one thing I learned from my trips around the world is how amazing Brazil is. The first couple of times I traveled internationally, I went to the States and Europe and I thought that Brazil was a really bad country to visit or even live. Then I got the opportunity to live in Russia and visit the Caucasus countries and Israel and oh boy, the things that I’ve gone through in these countries was too much for me. After returning to Brazil, I noticed how clean and organized everything is, even if you are in a region that is not considered that well organized and clean. People are always, always friendly. Taxi drivers, sellers, service people… all of them are at least polite, not to say nice and friendly too. Of course there are some bad apples here and there, but they are such a small number compared to how amazing everyone and everything is here. We should love our country more. Yes, other countries are better in some aspects, but Brazil just hits different.
@@rbct well if you’re from the failed state of Rio de Janeiro, anything and everything is better than there. But I’m not and neither are the other 91% of the country so you’re generalization is unfair. Bad and corrupt people exist in all places, but they’re not the majority and they clearly don’t represent Brazil. If you’re taking about the politicians, then we should talk separately about it and, again, it’s unfair to treat the whole population badly because of these guys. Also, have you been to Armenia? To Georgia? To Israel? To Russia? I actually lived in hell in these countries, so yeah, I’m gonna say that they are a level below compared to Brazil. But then that’s my experience…
@@rbct no, it’s not the same thing. It’s really impossible to claim that whole of Brazil is the same as Rio when only in Rio you get caught between crazy shootings in the middle of the day. Tchau tchau.
The three hour stop is also needed to switch drivers. By regulation they are not allowed to drive more than 6 hours straight, so they get to one place and then they usually head back on a bus that´s coming back on the opposite direction (The exception is when there are 2 drivers taking turns on the wheel) . Or when they keep going they will rest for 20 min or so and then they will head for the next stop where he/she will finish the shift and another driver takes the wheel of the bus. I once rode a bus from Florianópolis to Asuncion in Paraguay. Paraguaian drivers are a show of their own, they will switch while the bus is in movement going 80 miles an hour...
It's cool that Ivana called the meat, rice, salad dish "real food", because we brazilians also call it like that, we say "To com fome de comida de verdade" that is like "We're hungry for real food" which would be rice, beans, salad, meat, farofa.
I love travelling by bus in Brazil, it's chill and comfortable. I like seeing the countryside through the window, passing through small towns, big green hills and round rock mountains.
Bus looked comfy. Ivana making food for bus ride..... 10 stars!!!! Accommodations look great. Enjoy. Can't wait for the next video. Keep safe, healthy and happy.

You guys need to go to Costa da Lagoa da Conceição! Its a place you go by boat and that is a tiny village and lots of restaurnats near water! I had the greatest fish I ever ate there. AND THE VIEW !!
Nice guys! South of Brazil is amazing , don’t forget to try churrasco e chimarrão!
Indeed, you two crossed a huge preserved tropical forest called Mata Atlântica . My tip : Sunrise at 4 ilhas and don t forget the shrimps and oisters.
Esse canal é muito bom . Os melhores gringos 😎

Soooo... I see that you've stumbled upon one of our Cultural Heritage -The Caramel Dog: 10:15
São Paulo has 3 big bus stations. The biggest one (Tietê) is where you were, but the second one (Barra Funda) is almost the same size.
The third (Jabaquara) is half the size of Tietê station.
Changing state in Brazil is like you change country. Changes the accent, cooking, customs, the way of speaking, is another culture ..
I love to see someone giving a genuine fresh look at things that I'm so used to. I hope you guys have found enough fun in Brazil to make the trip worth it.
Great! Be sure to go to Balneário Camboriu and also to the Vale Europeu (European Valley).
Back in 2001, I took a 26 hours bus ride from Novo Hamburgo, RS, to Rio de Janeiro, to watch Iron Maiden and Rob Halford at Rock in Rio 3
Woooow 26 hour bus ride!! Hopefully the concert was worth it :), it sounds great !
First like then video :) Hugs from Serbia
Nice video. Florianópolis is a very nice and beatiful city to visit. But in Fortaleza (Ceará) you might find some things more interesting, believe me! Im from Fortaleza, and have been many times there in Floripa.
But not only Fortaleza, some other cities in the Northwest of Brazil aswell. Very diferent cultures.
South of Brazil is amazing
Ivana and Steve.. I must say..that is so nice to watch, how you guys, with your lovely videos, are breaking the stereotypes of how a south american country look like. Unpretentiously broading the horizons for other people in the world. And that’s great!
Thanks so much for your nice comment. We are happy you enjoy our videos😁
Yeeeeeey new video!!!
I wish that I could hang out with y’all. I’m interested in going there too.
Cool. Hope is not rainning in floripa! 😅 have fun guys
On the first floor with more expensive ticket, there are outlets. And it is not just the extra 30 degrees, the seats are way more comfortable.
Que saudades vocês 🥲👏🏻
I am in Floripa now - flew down from São Paulo - didn't know you guys were in Brazil until I found this vid this morning - I think I was last following you guys around Malaysia back in 2020 during lockdown. Like you, I never really stopped travelling - I am at #73, going for 100 by the end of this year - hope I bump into you somewhere! Safe travels and keep making the great vids!!
Safe travels to you too! Enjoy Brazil!
I think you guy made a great decision of going to Floripa. The weather it's being quite weird here in southeast (you guys know that).
enjoy! cheers mate
Have a good time in Floripa, guys. I was there last week with my girlfriend visiting and we had a great time.
what was your fave part of Floripa?
@@JetLagWarriors On the second day we left the apartment at 11am, went to have lunch at Gugu´s restaurant (it is at Santo Antônio de Lisboa) and after that we went to Daniela´s beach enjoy the rest of the afternoon. It was amazing. If you ever go to Gugu´s restaurant, ask for the "pastel de camarao" and the "bolinho de siri". You will not regret.
I appreciate how lean and frugal they travel. they get more bang for the buck.
Enjoy Brazil !!! Then come to Rio de Janeiro!!! I live in Copacabana if you need some tips!
Floripa Is the best Place for a great Adventure. Enjoy It!
The pitstop was in Registro….then a stop in Curitiba. Curitiba Its the coldest Capital in Brazil…
Yeah, the 1st stop is over there, near the border of SP and PR. By car or bus, I always spend some time over there.
What about some another 15hours bus ride to Foz do Iguaçu do see the "Cataratas do Iguaçu"? It's a lot but it's really beautiful too...
If possible try visiting Brasilia there's ton of thing's to see here beside what you see in pictures, it's not that popular with turist from outiside at least not compared to rio and sao Paulo but it's pretty nice.
@@sandysilva5659 if you vist with a local it can be a nice experience, brasilia is lot more than just monuments and architecture if you know where to go.
Good Place. ENJOY
Oh Nice!!! You guy’s met our “Caramel Dogs” 🐶 10:18 This is really typical on the road in Brazil. They don’t have owners… But everybody love them!!!
Beautiful places!!!
In general here, we use to do this long trip by bus during the nigth time. It's faster, you can sleep better and you didn't lose one full day at the bus.
Stay at hostel do Morro in Barra de Lagoa, and Costa hostel in Pantano do Sul.
Que tem de bom nesse Hostel? To indo pra Floripa em 4 dias sem ligar pra ficar
in beginning you were worried in Sao Paulo but now you stay much longer. Great work
My Last travel (Balneário Camboriú to Floripa) was by Catarinense also. Pretty good this company. Remember I told that u were next to schools I studied in childhood? One of them was righ beside of the place that u have been there! It is a Pink and White big house. Im so happy for u, our beautiful Florianópolis, The capital of " Santa & Bela Catarina"
That bus was amazing!
Oh gosh, such a long long bus journey....nice and comfy bus anyway. Yeah, you are right, lvana. Malaysian buses are freezing cold.
Have a good rest before your next adventures in Florianapolis.
Quite nice adventure in Brazil, looks safe till now
Oh vida boa!!! Preciso de uma viagem dessa! É ótimo viajar de ônibus.
Usually these buses have water cups next to the bathroom.
wonderful Brazil
Enjoy Florianópolis!I Nice one! I hope you guys come check out some northeast cities and their beautiful beaches. You won't regret it
an advise for the next time, buy your ticket with buser.
you will get the tickets will cost on average half the price in comparison with the traditional bus line
and the other tip is to travel over night
Hi Ivana and Steve 👋 Woww...that was quite a long hour and exhausting guys , hope you get a good rest and looking forward for the next adventure 👍🏻🥰😘
Welcome to Floripa !!!!
Florianopolis .. experimentem nosso refrigerante PUREZAAAAAA ❤ the Pureza is the best soda in Floripa
Have a good rest guys! This was an exhilarating and exhausting ride you guys. I am anticipating more good good stuff from you guys.
@@sandysilva5659 Bento Gonçalves is the city and there are small towns around who produce it too. Beautiful place
it's the comfiest! I miss travelling by bus in Brazil. Most of the time, I'm asleep during the whole trip. That's how comfy it is 😂
nice choice
adorei o vídeo!!
