One thing not mentioned on the video is how brazilian government (through Embrapa) developed and gave farmers a new variety of soil bean able to grow in the "cerrado", that was game changing. Hard work is important, but without purely brazilian new farming technology, this success wouldn't be possible.

I´m from Rio Verde, state of Goiás. I remember back in the 70´s when we started seeing these Russians when they went to the city to buy whatever they needed. They had bought large farm lands some 80 km from the city, at that time these lands were worth nothing, my father used to joke he wouldn´t buy those lands, not even for free!!!😒....nothing could grow there......the soil was too acid.....but then they used limestone to correct the acidity and now they have one of the most expensive land in the region. There´s also an American colony of Menonites( around 100 families) some 30 km from Rio Verde. They also came around the same time, bought very cheap land, and are now very successful and prosperous farmers.

Beautiful people. Working hard and making a good like for themselves. Brasil should feel a great sense of pride for embracing those people that are helping our country to grow.
But when they arrive in Russia, they realize they are Brazilian . Still very cool they keep Russian culture. Nowadays there are a good number of Russians moving to Brazil but to the cities - Florianópolis is a good example.
But those Russians who are moving to Florianópolis are the modern ones and are coming here for a different purpose. I mean they not stay here It's just a way to the couple get a Brazilian passport through their children born (Brazilian passport is one of top 10 ten most valuable ones).

Sorry, the information about Brazilians learning how to farm with immigrants is wrong. The central Brazil has a strong agriculture industry because of a big research project whose captain was the Brazilian agronomic engineer Alysson Paolinelli. Who was the minister for agriculture in the 1970-1980. Brazilian people have extensive experience in agriculture since the 17th. Mr. Paolinelli received the World Food Prize in 2006 for leading decades of Brazilian research.
They said in the video that they went to the Government of Brazil with soil samples and were told nothing and they meant nothing would ever grow in that soil. And, he said "you were born at night, you know nothing". They thought they could get good results in 10 years but it took 20 years and they were successful. Because the soil was too acid they imported large amounts of lime. Now land they were giving away for almost free is today some of the most expensive. They are growing Soy and Corn.
Well, the land is Brazil not Russia as the presenter seem to believe. The families came from Russia but now they are Brazilian nationals - as every person born in this country. So, if some want to return to Russia, fine. I hope they are as much (or even more) successful there as they were here owning their land, cars, planes, trucks, harvesters, tractors and being free to live according to their traditions. They do not make a fuss about themselves and this is great. And BTW, this is real Brazil not Rio de Janeiro. The countryside generates most of Brazil's income. Foreigners - as the journalist - have no clue about it so then comes the surprise when they venture inland. . Nice to see one of the families eating rice, black beans and "chuchu" (arroz, feijão e chuchu) - staples of the Brazilian diet that everyone will see all over this vast country!
Real Brazil is the whole of the country - including Rio de Janeiro. A country is made of its people and more than half of brazilian people live along the coast, especially the south-east part. All 3 sectors of the economy play a part on making it as big as it is.
As a Brazilian, I was completely clueless about this Russian Community! I am glad they found Brazil to build their lives but also sad that some of them are moving back to Russia! Regardless their decision the law says, once you are born in Brazil, you are Brazilian and whenever they decide to go back, Brazil will always be with its arms wide open! Sending all my love from a Brazilian-Italian who lives nowadays in the UK.
Great Video, a big thanks to all farmers world over, for providing the cities with grain and corn! Agriculture is so important for the sustenance of the citizens, of every nation.
For a bit of context about the land size, productivity of the Brazilian soil varies greatly between regions. At Goiás, farms usually have to be really big because invariably you need big machinery to work the land, otherwise it is not worth it. What I mean is that, there, you either have really small land, like 1 to 10 hectares for mostly self-sustainement, or hundreds to thousands hectares of land. And this phenomenom of colonies, countries within countries, is farily common in Brazil, with the quilombolas (communities of descendents of runaway African slaves), the Italian, German communities of the South of Brazil (wich saw great repression during and after WW2), Japanese (also suffered greatly during post-war), Dutches, Finnish, Polish, Ukrainians and even Americans, with Dixies establishing in São Paulo after their Civil War. Not to mention the natives, that still have some uncontacted tribes And the planes aren't used to irrigation as said. It's for fertilizers, pesticides and others.
In Goiás there is a Russian and American colony close to each other in the Rio Verde region. Both are tight communities based on religion and do not mix with locals. As a Dutch migrant I'm in Brazil for some 35 years now, but not in or near a Dutch community like Holambra near Campinas.

Being a religious and traditional community, they had little interaction with Brazilian people and culture. They speak Portuguese as a second language because of their school education. It is important to say that the average Brazilian is extremely hospitable and patient with the foreigners who come to work and build here. It is equally important to say that we see with curiosity and always try to see how our culture reflects on foreigners and how they absorb it. As for the return of the Russians to their motherland, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this, if the desire is to improve and help their land and their people, what's more, they know that they will always be very welcome here. However, I need to clarify an interesting concept about agriculture and agribusiness - technology and know-how is open to everyone and for a reason: it is impossible to emulate the terrain, its qualities and the climate and its recurrences. The techniques learned can certainly and even SHOULD be replicated and adapted to be used to expand food production and eradicate hunger, wherever it may be, however it is necessary to consider the severity of Siberia and the difficulties that can be encountered there and which are much stricter than those that exist here, at least for agriculture. Furthermore, I always wish good luck to the Russian people, a people friendly to the Brazilian people. Have a good trip and may the Creator spread his blessings using your hands as an instrument of His will.

I think they can improve with what they learned here and a lot of planting in Russia, in Brazil especially in Mato Grosso, they have the best technology on earth, Embrapa has been doing research and science with everything related to agriculture since the 70s, all of this is shared and Mato Grosso uses the latest global technologies, but on the other hand it needs the Russian government, transportation of the product, inputs, the exchange even with Brazil by the BRICS of Embrapa technology, grains, fertilizers, technology with China, this could produce a lot more in a smaller space like Brazil does, increasing profits, having a government representative it is good that he has this ideal for these people because the trend would be growth in the region and an increase in population with an increase in income, in the 70s Mato Grosso was poor today It is one of the richest states in Brazil.

Isso é uma falácia que a galerinha do sul inventou kkkkkkk se não fosse a estatal EMBRAPA eles estariam vivendo de caça ate hoje
Very well observed.
Real Brazil is the whole of the country - including Rio de Janeiro. A country is made of its people and more than half of brazilian people live along the coast, especially the south-east part. All 3 sectors of the economy play a part on making it as big as it is.
Well said.
Tudo certo, exceto "O campo gera a maior parte da renda do Brasil.". PIB do Brasil: Agropecuária: 7,1%, Indústria: 25,5% e Serviços: 67,4%.
Not to mention the natives, that still have some uncontacted tribes

All that shit you've mentioned happens basically in parts of Rio and parts of the northeast of Brazil and, they live in the countryside, which makes it even more safe. There are over 2 millions russians descendents in Brazil and there are more and more coming due to the war. Almost 100 thousand got here only in 2022. So, they have safety, an war-free country, good land and a lot of their culture...
@@bestvideos4ever1 This is the reality in big cities and megalopolises. The countryside is mostly quiet and calm.
@@bestvideos4ever1 You as american talking about gangs and crimes? HAHAHAHA.. USA IS FULL of crimes .. gangs, Narcos.. Cmon....Chicago... is known for Chiraq... Random crimes in USA is more usual.. normal than in Brazil... .
80% of homicide in Brazil are young black poor people especifically involved in gangs and things like that.. it´s not like random killings like what you see in the USA..... where a guy got into a mall killng everyone for no reason

Loved this documentary. As a Portuguese-brazilian I had heard about russian migrants but had no idea as to how they lived.
obrigado por virem participar da vida brasileira, enriquecer culturalmente e materialmente nosso pais.
Great documentary ! Congratulations 🙌🏻
Excellent documentary. Even you are successful in another country you always miss the idea of fatherland. I think they will adapt i Sibiria and bring their values to people there. Maybe these people will blow new life and strengh to those depressing people and rebuild spiritually that Russians have lost. God bless them
These "russians" should be grateful for the financing from Banco do Brasil, the government`s investments in infrastructure and the seeds from Embrapa. In russia they wouldn`t have anything like that.

Não vejo país no mundo mais receptivo a estrangeiros como o Brasil!
Старообрядцы нужны России так же, как любому человеку нужно их сердце.

Wow. What a nice suggestion from RUclips. I'm Brazilian and have never heard of them. I'm from Rio Grande do Sul state. I guess we don't have it around.

I’m a brazilian of italian/portuguese ancestry now living in europe under my italian passport, and this documentary portraits very much what the landlocked brazil looks like, most part of foreigners just know about favelas but this(as portrayed) is MY Brazil!

Culturalmente diverso e etnicamente respeitador. No final, tudo acaba misturado. E essa mistura é a beleza de nosso país.
This is great work they have done with the land! They can teach the whole world valuable & sorely needed lessons in agriculture! It would save the world quite literally, with the no till method and correcting Ph naturally

I'am Angolan, and i would like to go back to Africa the promiseland. But corruption and dumb faces and promise, bad decisions, the need to live in luxury of the bad Angolan politicians kill the dreams and life of the most beautiful land Angola🇦🇴 .
I love Russian because they help us against colonialism l, fighting apartheid invasion.
Don't let the older believe die.
Os soviéticos que “ajudaram” Angola são os mesmos soviéticos que expulsaram os “old believers” da pátria mãe.
Don't forget that Russia occupied many countries until the fall of communism and these days, Putin tries to rebuild the Russian empire.
Soviet Union destroyed Angola.
I don't advise you guys to move to Russia. Brazil embraces all cultures and you guys already make it there. Unless you want to be forced to go to war, cause that's what is happening there. People are being forced to fight in the war.
Amazing people, so determined and hard working!
I recently read a novel set in Northern Alaska that had some Old Believers characters and described some of their beliefs and practices. It was the first time I had heard of the group.
Im brazilian, but my surname is ukrainiam. My ex was also of ukrainiam ascendency. My mother lived in places, deep in the south, where you "couldnt spells peoples surnames, due to the lack of vowels". Some of the neighbourhoods of the city i live were built by either polish, ukrainians or white russians (todays Belarus - its the region where most of eastern immigrants came from). My states countryside still have LOTS ans LOTS of closed communities which russian is spoken. Sao Paulo has an important city built by these same people... Prudentópolis.
Easter European immigration is very ofuscated by the germans, italians and japanese im Brazil... mostly because the people that came from there were very humble farmers, living literally under the Middle Age before moving to here. But im really proud of my surname and of what my people did.
Also, Kubitschech still is one of the only decent presidents we ever had.
Prudentópolis é no Estado do Paraná.

17:06 her answer it's what defines being brazilian. We (brazilians) are not one people itself, we can't be defined into one term. The picture that foreign have in their mind when they think about brazilian it's someone from Rio or Bahia, my culture it's totally different from these places and still, I'm Brazilian.
This documentary it's a invite to we, brazilians people think about our country.
Many Brazilians don't feel like they live a good life in this country and make a huge efftort to left to countries like USA, Portugal, Australia, UK because life here in several aspects is bad (violence, education, IDH in some regions its very low, GDP per capita its less than 12k dollars anually).
Foreigners come here and love living here, but it seems like this country is a totally joke to many Brazilians.
Russians, but when you're born in Brasil, youre a Brazilian of Russian descents. Like myself, I'm Brazilian of Italiand and English descents having 3 citizenships.
Russian means ethnicity, not citezenship
what an interesting documentary!
It is interesting because Brazil has a welcoming culture and in almost every state there has been a mixture of peoples since Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese. This experience has made us a people who have ingrained the ability to integrate religions, cultures, and peoples, whether through laws to protect and preserve culture, religious respect, or ethnic respect. But even so, there is an emotional side to his homeland that is very difficult to replace.
I hope he has a good life in Russia!
I am from Rio married to Soviet lady from Kishinev ,Koldova and im trying to learn Russian language little by little ops by the way “Meniah Zavut Ivan”! That’s a good beggining 😂
Awesome documentary
O Brasil é mais acolhedor que qualquer pais do mundo para estrangeiros
Wow..there's alot of Russians relocating to Southern Brazil.
I live in a Pomeranian (German) community here in Brazil, although I'm of Italian descent. They speak their own language, and know Portuguese as well. I'm happy Russians could live here, prosper and be undisturbed. Brazil is very hot, too hot, specially where they are geographically, maybe that's why some want to go to Syberia. But they are living better than the average Brazilian, I don't know if they are going to be able to produce so much in a place that is so cold.
Russians-Brazilians, more Brazilians when comes to food.
i thought that russian colonies were all in Paraná. I didnt know that in Goias and Mato Grosso had russians. It seems that the sun in Goias is harming theirs skin.
