They met Tim and said let's do a song together and decided it would be their hit from 1981. Kenny Rogers asked Home Free to si g with him Children Go Where I Send Thee.
Home Free did a collaboration with Kenny Rogers before he passed away. Children go where I send thee. It's so incredibly good. RIP Kenny.
They're good friends now ❤❤
The sheer joy on your face was priceless!
Was it that obvious? 🙂 thank you!
ORB are in The Country Music Hall of Fame. Richard Sterben is the bass for ORB, and once sang backup for Elvis. Austin got his t-shirt as a kid, and now has the signed t-shirt in a shadow box hanging on the wall in his home.
That’s Amazing. I’m definitely going to have to see more ORB.
@@555Vibes definitely!
There is a great song that they did with Kenny Rogers called Children go where i send thee
Looks like the Oak Ridge Boys were really enjoying doing an a cappella version of their golden song! Mutual respect going on here, and what a great arrangement from Geoff. 9 talented men having fun making music.
Always loved the Oaks ... Home Free really looks up to this iconic group ! Richard Sterban , the Oaks bass , sang backup for Elvis before he joined them !
Wow!
There used to be a video of Elvis singing with his band, after a concert. Richard was one of the singers.
They made another great collaboration with The Oakridge Boys and Jeffrey East on O, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem. They also have several other great collaborations on their channel.
Adam Rupp is beyond awesome.
💯
THEY DID A COLLAB WITH KENNY ROGERS TOO FOR KENNY'S X-MAS ALBUM; THE SONG WAS 'CHILDREN GO WHERE I SEND THEE' TOTALLY AWESOME!!!😂
Oh wow, I’ll definitely be checking that out!!
This is great. A fun fact is that Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay helped Tim Foust with the arrangement of this song and Tim gives them a big shout-out at the end of the video.
I saw that. I’m doing a Geoff song soon!
This is a fun one and great experience for Home Free. They do another song with the Oaks for Christmas called Star of Bethlehem. When HF does this song in concert, Tim has a lot of fun with the audience. He goes really low with his part. It’s a fun song. Good reaction!😄
Thanks. Sounds like a must see for me.
The Oaks tenor is Joe Bonsall, who doesn't seem to have lost a note. And he really took a shine to Austin!
Great voice!
Sadly for me I'm old enough to remember the original! What a fun song o.r.b. pure legends
Great reaction!! The Oak Ridge Boys are Mentors to Home Free. They sang another song together with Jeffery East called Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem.
The Oak Ridge Boys are a Country/Gospel group started in 1943 in Oak Ridge Tennessee with the name Oak Ridge Quartet became popular Southern Gospel Singers in the 1950’s.Their group name changed to The Oak Ridge Boys in the 1960’s they sang gospel till the 1970’s then changed to country/gospel.They released Elvira in 1981
Here’s a list of the Oak Ridge Boys
Duane Allen (lead singer) sitting next Rob
Joe Bonsall ( Tenor) next to Austin
William Lee Golden (Baritone) White long beard
Richard Sterban (Bass) Sang as bass for Elvis for 2 yrs 1971/1972
Thanks so much. Appreciate that.
@@555Vibes Your Welcome
It would be the thrill of a lifetime to be able to share the stage with music Royalty like that and them be so willing to be part of it! Then to play who can go higher or lower. So much fun. I'm so glad you enjoyed that. Thanks!
Thanks, that must have been really cool!
Richard Sterban (Oaks bass) is almost 80yo here.
He sang with Elvis in 1971-72.
Said, after concerts, they would stay up late singing gospel music..
They've also done a collaboration with Charlie Daniels, they sang "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". They sang with Alabama on "Christmas in Dixie", as well as doing "America Pie" with Don McClain for the 50th Anniversary of his song. Home Free also got a call from Diana Ross's people that she wanted them to come sing at her 75th birthday, they sang a few songs for her, but her special request was "Love Train". As someone else mentioned Home Free have not only done two songs with the Oak Ridge Boys for their videos, but have also sung with them on The Grand Ole Opry. And of course you're aware that they sang "God Bless the USA" with Lee Greenwood & the USAF Singing Sergeants. ❤️🍟
I have to check those out now, thanks!
And don't forget they also did "Children Go Where I Send Thee" with Kenny Rogers.
I saw where a few people had already mentioned the collab with Kenny Rogers, & even though it's one of my favorites, I didn't want to say it again. 😁
Forgot to mention that Home Free also sang "Some Girls Do" with Sawyer Brown backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, it's a really fun video, especially since the guys from SB love listening to Adam Rupp beatboxing. ☺️
Home Free also sang with Mark Wills, Don’t Laugh At Me and Billy Gilman , One Voice
This is a great collaboration between Home Free & The Oak Ridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oakridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys.
This really gives me the sense of "Home Free Past" meeting "Oak Ridge Boys future".
The ORB's bass, Richard Sterban, sang bass for Elvis Presley early in his career. Home Free definitely collaborated with true country legends on this song--and I LOVE this collaboration❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
This was Awesome!
The Oak Ridge Boys are now mentors to Home Free. They have done quite a few things with them since. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Thanks Sharon, I definitely plan to see more of them. I loved this!
Home Free, featuring Don McLean, American Pie. Nuf said.
This one is epic!!!!!
Diana Ross requested Home Free to sing at her Birthday Party Celebration
Wow!
Yeah, ‘Elvira’ was a very popular iconic song! ❤❤. So cool to see them collaborating with them, so awesome!!🔥🔥 Beautiful! These guys can really do anything!! I am glad you are becoming a big fan like the rest of us!! Great reaction!👏👏👏👏
Thanks! 🙂
Another fun fact...Richard Sturben (the bass for the ORB) was the bass singer for Elvis. Great reaction!
That’s so cool, thanks!
Wonderful reaction! Home Free also did O Beautiful Star of Bethlehem with the Oak Ridge Boys, Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers and Christmas in Dixie with Alabama, they are all awesome.
Thanks!!
Smiled all through your reaction because I knew you would love this one! One of my many favorites too.
Thanks Dawn 🙂
Shortly after this one (in November 2015), they did a collab with Kenny Rogers: Kenny Rogers - Children, Go Where I Send Thee. That was the first Home Free video I ever saw--the day that it came out. Been hooked ever since. 😀
This one was always one of my very faves from the Oaks. Still love it. The guys performed it with them, at the Grand Ole Opry, after this video, as well.
I’m going to have to see that one for sure
These guys are so very amazing! I love them so very much. The collaboration of these two groups is amazing. Love your reaction!
Thanks, loved this one!
I hadn’t heard this before. Gave me CHILLS!! So awesome!
💯
Home Free collab with Don McLean and his 50th anniversary recording of his great Amercian classic "American Pie" is a must! Don contacted HF especially to do this redo. Enjoying your channel tremendously.
Thanks Marcia. Oooh I’m definitely going to watch that one!
Classic!
Very cool!
The bass singer in the Statler Brothers can go even lower.
You couldn't have picked better!
My gran listened to older country music and The Oak Ridge Boys was among them as was Kenny Rogers (who they sang with as well, Children Go Where I Send Thee). That song brings back great memories. :)
Have a great 4th of July weekend and day!
Thanks so much. You too. 🇺🇸
