-Tractor Turret on Taurus is now Implemented*
P72 seems to respond a lot better in atmosphere
Although according to reports docking the snub is still a major issue.
- We now have 4 size 5 harpoints in all verisons. And these can all be manual gimballed but that will reduce your rate of fire.

This thing is an absolute beast these days for PVE bounties. So much firepower and tankiness. Very much yes.
I searched for good, complete, constellation comparison videos months ago but couldn't find any. Thanks for the amazing review. Also, the Constellation Phoenix is my favourite, simply because of the amazing interior. I certainly can sacrifice the fire power and specs for that because I'd rather sit in a good looking ship for months then one without it. It's also cool to bring your friends in.

Missiles aside its supposed to have the most firepower of the connie lineup. The Phoenix is supposed to come with an additional PDS hardpoint but CIG conveniently forgot about it in the rework.
I like that you included the claim time at the end. That is something a lot of people do not talk about when reviewing ships and is an important part of the experience.

I hate the Pheonix. Luxury? Imagine sitting at the bar, comming right after a dip in the whirlpool. The expensive whiskey tastes great, but now you have to aliviate yourself. off to the grubby crew toilet wearing your silken bathrobe. So much luxury, that even the master bedroom doesn't have a loo. Miserable ship!

@nilsgerdes6747 it was one of the earlier ships released. Back when CiG didn't know what they had going on fully. Many ships will be reworked heavily. I wouldn't hold it against them. It's one of CR's babies....They're definitely going to give it special treatment.
@@durtyred86 I would think so, too. One thing they have demonstrated over and over again is their love for detail and immersion. I still have the feeling that this is the greatest game ever in the making

The biggest problem with the Aquilla is the more rounded cockpit window design makes the struts even more intrusive than they are on the standard design, because they're wrapping around rather than flowing away from you. Unfortunately the Aquilla has been undermined by other ships that do the same things better, albeit it a higher price point so its current role is unclear. If they removed the struts and put genuine exploration into the game, it would be a very popular ship due to its cost. If only SC wasn't stuck in development hell.
honestly i find all the metal bars one those ships bad. esp that small central window on andromeda lol like wtf a 5 cm window? WHY?

Ive always loved the andromeda. I know it has its downsides but its the first ship I really felt comfortable flying solo.

Taurus for me because i mainly run solo. I have done some "exploring" with it at some outposts and i cannot wait for the tractor beam. PVE and PVP is actually great...especially when your running ballistics.

Fun fact, the table in the Andromeda used to pop up. But if you were sitting behind it, it would trap you.
I’ve got a Taurus as my main pledge ship and I love it for the flexibility. Want to do some bounty hunting? Doable if we’re taking about pve. Want to do some cargo running? Pretty great way to start out in that game loop. Oh it can also carry two Ursa Rovers
Taurus & Max are my main boats for daily activities. C2 for the heavy bulk trade runs. Never did enjoy luxury, unless we are talking the high-end i-series.

Excellent analysis of the variants, I hope you do more of these! The Andromeda is the one for me. These ships may not be the latest and greatest, but I love how utilitarian and no-nonsense they are. Nice to know she's as rugged as she looks, too.

I love my Aquila mostly because of the bridge glass design, the round look is awesome. And exploration gameplay should end up being awesome
I had my eye on a Phoenix for over a year and was lucky to score one this IAE. It does bounties and cargo in style. Getting a Tobii 5 soon. Should help overlooking the struts all over 😂

Honestly the head tracking is a game changer. Defo adds a layer of immersion to things. Hope you enjoy skimming the verse in the lap of luxury. o7
The Taurus has a shielded cargo hold back where the snub is in the other Connies and it works.
@@johnnyjericho8472 meaning if the ship is scanned anything in the 6SCU shielded compartment will not be detected. Good for smuggling if that's your interest.
@@rogermar8646 does the shielded compartment have grid where boxes can snap? Can you sell directly from the compartment or does it have to be moved to the main?
@@djlord77 I have not checked since they introduced that as I only had the Taurus during 3.19 but You had to carry them manually. I think now they snap. You can sell directly from there if cargo is there.
Tractor beams are supposedly about to be a huge part of SC moving forwards. I still prefer the 2nd turret, but getting ownership of a Constellation for $200 is a steal. The chrome paint is a nice touch.

If price isn't an issue, the Aquila is the better choice. Better cockpit, faster ship, same handling, same hp as the andromeda. Comes with a rover. It's better in most ways apart from price and losing a few missiles that not many people will miss especially if using it for multi-role purposes. 9/10 for aquila, 8/10 for andromeda followed by the others at 7/10.
The Phoenix is a 10/10 for me, I'd sacrifice the fire power and specs for a good interior. Amazing for inviting your friends in too.

Forget Origin luxury ships...Phoenix for me. Especially after whatever the final pass holds for us.
Well explained Red. The Taurus is such a flexible ship for making money in this patch. A great go-between towards getting towards the ship you want to buy.
Logistically the Constellation series are better suited for piracy then the Drake ships.
I don’t mind this design if it stayed in space. Landing this in atmosphere is just hilarious the way it slams the cockpit on the ground. Would have been better if the lower engines/landing gear was a little more forward.
I am one of those rare Phoenix owners. I love my battle chicken but I have one complaint for a ship that's supposed to be a luxury liner. There is no way to get into the ship that doesn't go through a sparse utilitarian area. How are the guests supposed to get in without getting dirty?
Do you want to mention there is a single shower ( no toilet) for the crew of 4 as well as up to 4 guests? The journey gets awfully long that way.
How about the trap door right outside the master bedroom where a stray step might press the hidden button
Taurus is easily the best attainable Option for beginners
but does not having the 44 HP compared to the others matter? I figure the more HP the better when just starting out.
Well this helped deciding on which Conny I will get! The other question is why does your game looks so amazing? Do you run reshape and if so can I get the profile? I upgraded my pc to high end but it doesn’t look that good so I guess my reshade options or settings are not as good
It's not running reshade dude. And it's just raw footage captured from the game. No effects added.
It is running at 4k though but that's the only thing I can think of. I don't even run with clouds on. But every other setting will be on the highest, with the motion blur and any other effect turned off. So if there's film grain, chromatic or vignette they will be off. If there's an fov option it will be bumped up a bit too. Sorry I'm not at my computer to check these things.
@@Reds_Resort oooh damn guess I need to invest in a 4K monitor I only run a 3440x1440 ultrawide but it’s not 4K . I upgraded to a 4090 and 7800x3d 64GB so specs should be good I have erbything on very high even clouds but without reshade it just seems a bit matt greyish I will have to look into that . I watched the videophone on my phone and damn it looks good
@@kasper1g tbh dude the only reason I run 4k is because I play on 55inch tv. I'm under 60 quite a lot with a 4090 so I'd definitely weigh the perfomance cost against what you'd gain fidelity wise.
I've tried both and found a 4k monitor isn't really big enough to make use of the extra pixel density. Slightly sharper but not much. Upto 42 inch I'd say it's not worth your time.
Yeah they are not the best for PVP, but i have fought off a under manned Hurricane with one.
Andro, for the missle chucking people (with size 2 rattlers if your video card needs to be punished). Along with 2 man turrets, love it. Along with my preferred conni.
Aquilla, great scanner (for the pilot) and nice for ROC mining... but the MSR is still a better choice in that matter. However that hydro tank, its survivability and front facing DPS make up for it.
Taurus, what can I say it's longer and a decent increase in cargo. Gives you a bit of a improvement in defending your cargo with them guns. Sacrifices some hull HP though.
Phoenix, swanky and that wider cargo bay makes it very nice for getting in and out of rovers. Don't forget that it is ment to be getting a missle point defence (soon tm).
Over all, they have only 2 issues for me.
1. Those bloody struts in the cockpit.
2. The Phoenix need a passenger entrance, it's stupid for them to enter through the (in comparison to what they are trying to present) grose crew lift.
Nailed it dude. Looking forward to whatever cutter variants they come up with. Burger van would be cool or a genuine yellow taxi just to mix things up a bit from the norm. It won't happen obvs but a man can dream. 😂
As much as I love the look of the Phoenix I never got the Constellations until the Taurus came out - yeah you give up the snub but are you really going to use it enough to justify its existence?
The Freelancer MAX and the Taurus are my main workhorses for medium transportation; that way I can choose between an absolutely sh1te letterbox view or a massively strut-obstructed view depending on my mood :D
Can't wait for the de-strutification of the Constellations though: I hope they don't go too far but the two horizontal struts right in front of everything you need to do is pretty f'ing annoying!

Depending on how deep the human passenger system will be they also want to introduce for the Genesis, the Phoenix might be able to transport "high class passengers" for a profit too. Would be cool at least to see it filled with classy people.
Yeah I liked how they handled this in elite dangerous. You could just be a space bus for folk just trying to get to work on a normal commute or you could take VIP passengers on tours. They would be like I want to go see the geysers on LV426 and half way through they would be like, could you make a stop of at X and get me some poached weevil eggs or whatever. Would be so cool if it was the same idea and we could actually interact with the passengers.
With the phoenix having a wider cargo lift could that little med ship fit in there then that ship would have medical function but there was talk of med ground vehicles coming soon.
By the way it is supposed to have scan shielding on cargo hold.
Oooh. You'd be struggling I'm afraid. You can't even fit a Merlin in there so im afraid the c8r would defo struggle. Hoping for ground medical as well. 👍

If I was to buy another Conny Androm again, what could I actually do ingame right now...not interested in PVP. I would actually buy the Phoenix for sure if I had the chance.
Appointment, ECN, delivery, search, investigation, service, beacon, maintenance, racing, salvage, mining. Cargo. And that's just the official stuff. Nothing stopping trade with other players for rare items, or medical roleplay etc. I'd say take that with a grain of salt though because alot of those gameloops aren't the most engaging things to do and are in reality just a bunch of grinds for more money and ships.
So in the phoenix the Guest go take a dump in the Crew Cabins space shitter? wtf ... this thing needs an rework. BTW Take the taurus and a Fury in the cargo and you happy to go
