I love my Connie Taurus. She was my first & will always be my favorite daily driver. One thing to note: With the VTOL activated, you'll see doors open up on thrusters on each side of the cockpit, giving you extra vertical thrust. So while nothing turns up/down like a Cutty, I think it's more nuanced, which fits the RSI branding. I pledged a Connie Taurus along with a Prospector so that I'll always have a good way to mine quantanium & haul the refined version back to the city for making starting uAEC. I desperately look forward to later this year when I'll be able to hop into my Taurus, fly to an outpost, drop the cargo bay, hop into the bottom turret, tractor some cargo into the bay, then hop back into the pilot seat, fly somewhere else, tractor it off, rinse & repeat. A nice, relaxing cargo game loop.
The Taurus was my first aUEC buy when I started mining, but I stopped mining in 3.16.2 with the unscannables issue, with enough aUEC to switch to bounty hunting with a Harbinger and Eclipse, though I kept going back to the Taurus for its fast TtK- zero need to dogfight light fighters, just face tank. With VHRT and ERT, I could snipe wardens, Valkyries and Hammerheads outside their gun range, and in 3.17.x, when I had a andromeda, I got really pissed the snubfighters were first exploding when you take minimal hits, or becoming so glitched CIG disabled their use. Yeah, reckon the Taurus will be super useful for salvage when the ship tractor beams work.

I do like the Taurus. You can do ert with it. The tractor beam is going to be great for loading cargo. And it actually has a small foot print with its landing gear design.
Taurus is great! When cargo refactor reaches the Mining loop, I want to use it was the cargo ship supporting multiple mining teams, since it has the tractor beam turret to have move rocks around for ease of mining also
Taurus was my first big ship after the Avenger Titan and it just hit the right boxes. Coming back to it after a honey moon with the Corsair, the way it can accelerate away in any atmosphere is something I really missed. It's slow to turn and roll but it sure does blast away at a nice comfortable pace. My only wish is that there would be room for you to still ride the cargo elevator while fully loaded.
First ship I bought with aUEC was a Prospector- Taurus was my first purchase from mining proceeds and I’ve been flying one since, especially with the glitches to the other Connies snubs that turned them into exposed bombs, or sealed to the ship and useless. I used to deliver refined quant, then go bounty hunting.

The Taurus is the best solo ship and the best of all the constellations. I have flown and owned a slew of random ships and constellations. I recently backtracked and went back to the Taurus. Amazing handling for its size, damage output is good, has great shields, has amazing cargo space, operation costs are low, and travel distance/time is great. You can do alot with this ship. Only upgrade the quantum drive to a crossfield and you are set. Note: I recommend you also own the Titan as well along with the Taurus.. It can get around, bed log, has 8su storage, and can be used for general purpose activity.
I look forward to owning every single Constellation variant one day. Can't wait for the 'golden pass' on these ships. So much has changed in ship making since these were created, and previous reworks were limited.
I bought one during Invictus... Absolutely love it! Great trade hauler and although with a much smaller cargo capacity, which with all the in-game instability, makes it much easier to swallow when for some reason or other, your cargo fails to show up on the TDD screen. Losing 174 SCU worth of beryl, while not good, is much better than losing a Carrack or C2's worth of beryl.
@@BeardofOz i had a Cutty Black which was executing me when entering the pilot seat, so i melted it. This video did the trick. Im now the proud owner of a Taurus, fully paid off lol with Cutty Blacks funds to discount it..
Its my daily. I upgraded to Ralien over IAE but till then I'll get to play it. I like the Taurus for distilled spirits runs and Larinite if is in stock. Little slow turning for combat, but it will do MRT bounties just fine.
I have the Taurus and I can't wait to get out there playing with it. I bought it waaaaaaaay back when it was still in concepting (I think?) as a variant.

Watching this when the tractor beam works... and yeah it's cool, Taurus probably has the best one, you can fully load the cargo bay without any awkward swiveling around. Best cargo ship ;D
I have one of these and it's brilliantly robust. I use it for moving vehicles as a bunker busting drop ship Cargo transport for obvious reasons Combat support for group bounty hunting (disruption repeaters on top) It's really good for roc mining because you can carry 3 rocs so group mining is really efficient. Not to mention the face the drop down design of the ramp means personal salvage missions are extremely efficient
I prefer the Andromeda, but my love for the Connie series cannot be understated. The Connie is truly one of the best ships in the verse, and will likely get better once it gets it's gold standard pass. I prefer the Andromeda for a few reasons. Firstly, the missiles can be locked onto your target regardless of ship orientation, with an eye tracker. Sure, currently, missiles are kind of meh but slapping out a rain of missiles on unsuspecting targets while not even pointed at them is hilarious. Secondly, the snub. Having a mate in that snub to watch your back is well worth it. Although, redocking it manually is a PITA. Also, what I have found on the Andromeda is, it's not worth having both turrets occupied and leaving the snub unused. Just put your second friend in the top turret and keep the enemies oriented towards him. The roll rate of the Connie is decent enough that when you're angling for the big boy shots up front, you can keep that top turret in firing arc.
Well even though im kida a whale, the Taurus still hits a sweetspot in my heart :) and i still got one allways avalible, it is just such a good allrounder and i keep comming back to it. I uaslly fly solo and i think that the connies will be flown solo allmost allways even when the game launch, so no need for a snub or 2xturrets. there is allready plenty for 3 crew in the taurus, missile operator and 1 turret gunner :) well thx for the vid keep up the good work.

I love the Taurus and in PvE it is simply a beast and is only inferior to an Idris and with the nice interior, potent shield and weapons and plenty of room for vehicles a wonderful all rounder. When flying solo it is not inferior to the other versions and packs a lot of fun (space) on top. The best ship of the Constellation Class so far. Feel free to elaborate more on the questions in the future: -Is the ship currently useful in the patch and what of it might change in the future (pyro or even release) and is the cash purchase worth it beyond the love of the ship? -Is the current combat power good in PvP or PvE or both? Of course, you address some of this very well, but it may not be clear to everyone. I really like your videos and you are one of the few StarCitizen RUclipsrs whose content I always watch since your rat method. I feel the andromida is better only because i prefer combat over cargo, and even 96 cargo is not bad so when you do what to run cargo you got decent ish cargo and a lot of fire power to fight back
IMO, I think the extras included in the base Andromeda make it way worth it over the Taurus. Granted the Taurus has nearly double the capacity in storage, the two turrets on the Andromeda will more than likely be a necessary tool after the Cargo Refactor when pirating becomes much more common.
at current stage of the game, ship like Constellation just can't win a fight against human player pirate, the best option when you know a pirate group is taking you as target is 100% power on shield and run as fast as you can and self destruct then player log off. So that all of your goods will fly at 1000 meters/second speed spread to deep space so that those pirates gets nothing but your ship wreckage. Therefor, taurus's tractor is more useful than the lower turrent of andromeda, besides it is much easier for pilot to keep top turrent on target rather than the lower one, it isn't that useful to begin with.

The important part here is, it is almost Feb, yet 3.18 is still in PTU stage, at this speed, Pyro might well be in 4.0 which could be somewhere around 2025. even if it comes out at 2024, we still need to play with only stanto for a year. During this year, piracy is going to be a lot more problem for non-combet players.

The taurus is the most sensible choice among the constellations, for what the game is now. Just don't call it Drake: its a solid slug of forged metal , not a bunch of duct tape and tin foil!
You've probably figured this out already, but if CIG thinks a ship is going to be really cool, they put it in RSI. That's why RSI doesn't have a definitive design atheistic like Drake or Crusader.
Did this ship get a change recently? on the website it says it has no cargo capacity and it is cheaper than the Andromeda which has 96scu so i'm kinda lost since i thought this one has cargo capacity.
I freely admit my bias and generally dislike the Constellation series (mostly because of the implicit "no ship in the same class can be better than a Connie" rule). That said, the Taurus is actually a fairly decent limited cargo hauler with added benefits as you describe. All of the constellations desperately need an interior rework to bring them up to standard with the other ships in the game.
Taurus is one of the underrated ships in star citizen
IT's all I use now to transport all my cargo and refined mining materials, and so far all pirates both AI and human have yet to kill me.
Without any doubts this is one of the best all around ships in the game. No doubts.

How do you use the turret though? Because the engines need to be on? Idk how to keep the engines on while away from the pilot seat

Adore the Taurus. It's been a premiere Quant hauler for me, since it came out.

Exactly all this. I hope they’ll consider flipping the bottom turret gunner on its gold pass, but as of right now, that snub is insanely good.

You will see a lot less piracy in Stanton once Pyro is in. People would rather do combat where jail isn't even an option.
