    In this video i re visit star citizens constellation Taurus. This ship is a solid buy for anybodys fleet, it boasts excellent components, versatiltiy, utility and fire power. The Taurus was one of the first large ships i owned as a new player and as the game develops there really isnt to much this ship cant do.
    A dedicated freight ship from RSI and one of 4 variants this one i feel, will be the most useful.
    Enjoy the adventure of a multi-crew Constellation on a budget! The Constellation Taurus is a dedicated freighter. Fully configurable but without all the bells-and-whistles, the Taurus is a great way to get started with crewed ships.

    Star Citizen's Constellation Taurus my first large -ish ship in the game. As the game develops the Taurus begins to show its versatility and appeal for the roles it can fill in and around the verse. This ship will certainly be a huge asset to anybody as its excellent utility will almost certainly have you covered for most situations. BUT...What do you guys think about the constellation Taurus? As always let me know down below!!

      I thought your mention of the passengers and docking collars was refreshing: people don't talk about this enough. For the passengers: it isn't a ship that really needs four crew to run, two will work great, even in the future when we get engineering. Those extra beds and lockers (which as you said, probably will turn into armor lockers or something similar), are handy when transporting people in general, or a vehicle crew. I also value docking collars in the long term: the ability to take this and dock it directly to something like the Galaxy or the Odyssey is fantastic. Carry over that replacement part you brought over, those critical supplies, drop off a few crew members you transported over. Incredibly useful!

    Little known fact about this beauty-you can land a Merlin or Archimedes in the cargo bay when landed or in flight if you are accurate, and never have to worry about docking mechanics at all. In the OC of Connies that's where the snubs were first planned to go.

    Connie Taurus is my daily driver work horse and I love almost everything about it. I just really wish they would rework the back half of the bridge and the crew area to bring them up to some of the current standards. When the Drake Cutter feels like a more complete living space for a player that the Connie, it's time to update the Connie.

    This was my first ‘big’ ship too - back in the days when you could only walk around your ship as flight was still a thing to be introduced! I was in awe of it then and the whole class still has a special place in my heart. I’ve owned all the Connie’s at some point (love the Aquila’s bridge), but the Taurus is the only one I return to. She is what she is, honest, extremely functional and with no frills or go-faster stripes. A true classic!

  • @jedi_drifter2988

    I have a Constellation Taurus, as I prefer the large cargo and shielded small cargo hold, instead of the snub on the rest.
    I am sure that when the rework happens, some if not all struts in the cockpit will be removed, along with the habitation area getting improvements, bringing it up to gold standard. RSI ships seem to be leaning towards having more armor, like Anvil ships do. The Taurus will be no different as it has covered turrets/missiles and VTOL thrusters. It is CR's first multi crew ship and will get CIG's love, IMO.

    I've been a shill for the Connie Taurus for years and I'm loving how it's getting a bit of shine. We're still not fully there but, closer. This thing is a Cutless-Black on STEROIDS.
    It has everything a solo/small crew needs to make it out there. Small enough to solo and large enough to grow into. It's perfect.
    Also no content creators seem to be clearing this up as far as I know so I thought I'd add it here.
    PSA: People, the C-1 Spirit and Zeus CL do NOT compete with the Taurus. They are all tucked specifically under the Taurus. Since they were released, alot of people saw the components and assumed it meant they were as good as or better than the Connie line....No....They aren't. They simply have the updated spec sheet implemented. The Connie's do not. But when they get it, you'll see where they belong on the tier list. All of the Connies are buffed up ships in comparison to the Zeus variants. By range, firepower and each of their respective professions. Be it cargo, a scanning suite or extra firepower. Please stop getting the Spirits and Zeus varaints mixed up in this bracket. They do not belong. They aren't BAD, they just aren't as good.

    i love the connie. if i had to get rid of my hole fleet and keep just one ship. it would be a toss up between the Andromeda and the Taurus. that said, some things need to change
    the center side struts and the cross beam just need to go away. i dont care how its done. they just need to go.
    the placement of the bottom s4 guns needs to change. the fact that you can change the top guns to fixed s5 but not the bottom ones just doesn't make sense. half fixed/ half gimbled loadouts don't really work all that well. and a ship like the connie deserves better. either change the location of the hard points to so they all accommodate s5 guns, or make them all bespoke gimbals that only take s4. i prefer the former because me like big pew pew. but i would accept the ladder.
    they could also just leave the option of fixed s5 guns to the Andromeda and restrict the other variants to gambled s4 guns.
    the supports connecting the top and bottum turret, dont need to be there. they make the bridge feel more cramped than it really is.
    the crew quarters needs a toilet. there is no reason a ship like the connie shouldn't have a toilet. it already has the shower. just make it a 2 in 1
    the forward dip should also be addressed. i think a single leg that unfolds from under the cockpit area would be good enough. i get some people dont like the idea because it might make the ship look wierd. but im not worried about that. The connie already looks kinda funky. an appendage extending from the chin of the ship wont make that much of a difference. either that or place the leg further back and just get rid of the crew elevator. it might restrict ground exits to just the cargo hanger but in exchange the bridge doesn't dip anymore, and you have more space to improve the crew quarters.
    the connie's speed is not perportional to its engines. they dont need to change the pitch and yaw speed, but with engines that big. the ship should have more speed.
    if cig just added a toilet, removed some of the struts and changed the weapon hard points, i would be happy. the rest are just nit picks.

    Currently i dont have a Taurus, but im finding a hard time justifying having a C1 or a Zeus CL over it..... its just better.... better weapons, better cargo and easier use of the tractor beam, better shields by far, better missile loadout, a fair bit slower than the spirit C1, dont know about the Zeus.
    i think i will rearange some ccus and make a taurus of the Vulture and make the C1 into something else, maybe the E1 that was the only Spirit i liked at first glance anyways.

    • @durtyred86
      @durtyred86 6 месяцев назад +1

      Well, speaking from a literal standpoint, the Connie Taurus is the big brother to the Zeus CL, and a bracket above both the C1 and the CL. Alot of people are confused due to the current components listed for all 3. In due time, the Entire Connie line will get a buff to components just as the medium ships like the C1 and CL are showing. The Taurus does not compete with these two ships. It beats them in every way outside of speed. Better firepower, pending better range, and better cargo capacit.

    • @Spaceman-PIN
      @Spaceman-PIN  6 месяцев назад +2

      Well the c1 is a superb ship in its own right but what it really boils down to, is how much heavy lifting are you planning to do in the future? Because for smaller niche buisnnes ventures the c1 will be perfect. However the taurus shines in its greater size and versatility. As more game systems come online in the future these descions should be easier to make hopefully ha ha.

    • @JL-rj9fl
      @JL-rj9fl 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Spaceman-PIN I very much agree, and if CIG decides to restrict ships based on the sizes of certain jump points these medium sized haulers have additional added value for certain tasks. I don't think they've ever been overly clear on this, but once upon a time they said a Freelancer would be the largest ship that can travel through a small jump point. I don't think they've discussed that in a very long time (that I can remember, anyway), but we didn't have the Spirit or the Zeus back then. It's entirely possible this could extend to these ships, too. Time will tell. :)

  • @olternaut
    @olternaut Месяц назад

    I understand your reasoning for the Constellation. But I want a more modern ship that has similar or better functionality. That is why I was interested in the Galaxy. But I fear CIG is going to drag their feet with the Galaxy and I hear they may screw up it's debut with their interior and system design decisions for the ship. Perhaps CitizenCon will debut something in between the size of a Zeus mk2 and a Galaxy that will hit a sweet spot. Waiting patiently for CitizenCon.

    I hope they change the cockpit, the struts are just too much, and in addition, the glair from the screens makes it impossible to see in dark areas, which you encounter all the time. So, remove some of the struts, those who remain, make them a little skinnier and either turn down the screen brightness, or make the brightness user adjustable, like every screen in IRL.

    Top of the Morning, Well I like this ship a lot. However I am not a fan of the new price point. From 155 to 200 in a few months is a Big price increase. The quantum fuel for me is Pretty Huge, sadly the Taurus is lacking for a freighter type ship {Pyro is Huge} If your looking for a armed freighter that stays in Stanton this is still a good choice. If your looking for a multi roll ship I think there are better choices for a bit more money, that 200-275 range.

      Many players don't know that the Taurus main cargo compartment has a special quick release to jettison cargo in an emergency.
      It is not working in game ATM, but it has the release switch on the right hand MFD of pilot. The bottom floor of cargo bay is supposed to open up, like bomb bay doors ... If so, think of all the new versatility it will bring, as in dropping troops/ammo/med supplies on planet/moons or Furys dropping out and easy recovery in space.

  • @timvictor8926

    Many ships have struts. The Connie’s is only an issue cause recently bar is central and blocks your vision directly ahead. If they dropped the pilot seat a little in height or raised the height of that central bar it would be totally fine. The Connie has you feeling like you’re in a functional bridge rather than in a cockpit.

I'm currently daily driving a Corsair because I've been more combat focused in 3.23,but as soon as 3.24 drops, I guarantee I'll be back in the Taurus because of its larger cargo capacity and the fact that it's just as versatile as the Corsair.

Backing to subject of free max over taurus. If you are normal gamer who only have aurora package it's better to by free max in the game for 4.2mln auec and grind further with 120SCUs towards bigger ship, than to spend 8mln auec on Taurus.
