I know it’s absolutely crazy and there’s no logical reason nor an explanation but a part of me wants a Black3/White3 where it’s Unova again but an entirely new story, so that way they can take the ORAS route and make Unova feel fresh with new stuff in it while keeping primarily all the important things in the original games Edit: I still stand by this but I’m more excited for Kalos’ return
With the current stage of the pkm game franchise, don't hope for anything. Even a small indie dev team who uses default game engine assets can make a better game than gamefreak, a multi-billionaire company. That is how low they are.
@@DraconicA5 And GF is so salty that Palworld is doing so great now XD They are actually « investigating » to see if there is any copyright infringement in there, they are beyond pathetic 🤣
Honestly a Unovan Legends game would be really cool! I don't think gen 5 really needs a remake yet, so I feel like there has to be something new for another Unova game to work.
I hoping for one of three things from a 2024 Pokémon game. 1. A Gold & Silver game that has elements from the remakes HeartGold & SoulSilver (like the story elements), the Let's Go games (like having one pokémon being a substitute for HMs) and maybe one or two elements from Legends Arceus (like having the routes and other areas be more open). 2. A game similar to the GameCube Pokémon games Coliseum and XD Gale of Darkness where it has a bit of a darker story compared to the mainline Pokémon games, but also adds things those games didn't have like the ability to catch pokémon in the wild in wide open areas. 3. A sequel to Pokkén Tournament.
i really hope they don't rush out this one, the main gigantic overtaking problem of modern pokemon is that they don't allow breathing room between releases and they churn out the next thing with little to no regard for quality and the sad part is that people will buy them anywahs for the waifus
Not what you suggested, but I'd love to see a Pokémon Legends: Celebi. (Especially since I could never get Celebi in 2nd gen times, event pokémon were impossible to get where I'm from.)
"More SV DLC" doesn't make sense to me, cause not only had they already started selling "SV+DLC"-packs like they did with SwSh, but they released a story chapter bringing characters together and literally called it the "epilogue".
It said "The hidden treasures of Area Zero epilogue." This COULD imply that it's the end of that set of dlc, making a new path for another. I personally really like SV so I hope they make another dlc.
There probably will be add-ons for their spin-off games as well, You know thanks for like Pokémon unite Pokémon Cafe. Something to do with the trading cards is probably something to do with the anime, but for the mainline games I think well I would love to do a new unova game.
The main reason I wouldn't mind a third DLC for Scarlet/Violet is because as of right now, there are only 9 Pokemon that are unobtainable on the Switch, not counting any Mythicals. Furfrou, Pansage, Simisage, Pansear, Simisear, Panpour, Simipour, Patrat and Watchog. Might as well just toss them in before we move on.
I don't know what I would prefer, but I hope we don't get a mainline pokemon game this year: side games like ports/remakes of colosseum/XD or mistery dungeon, rangers, etc, more dlc for scarlet/violet would be cool, maybe announce what they are working on, but nothing big this year please 😅😅
I’m hoping for gen 5 something (ideal for me would be grey & grey 2 as a pair because I wasn’t able to play the original games and legends unova) but it seems more likely it would be gen 10. Gen 2 remakes were in gen 4, 3 in gen 6, 4 and in 8, makes sense 5 in gen 10 but gamefreak have been known to break patterns before so we’ll see. I can’t see another ScaVi dlc because they’ve already released the ScaVi + dlc cartridges and I’m not sure another 30 quid on that game would go over that well with the fanbase but could be possible. I would love another let’s go game but I’m pretty sure they confirmed years ago that would never happen, I’m more hoping for another legends then another let’s go
I hope we get a 3rd dlc for scarlet and violet, it might give up more info about the paradox theory on how they came to be and how they evolved. For the next pokemon legends game I'm hoping it starts in the johto region and have the regional starter pokemon like the legends arceus did and have the origin story on the three legendary beast before Ho-oh saved them, also have new forms for Ho-oh and lugia too The unova remake I hope it's not like the BPSP remake or possibly a way to travel to the future
I expect something traditional but new. I honestly think Black/White 3 is possible, but that they’d market it differently - maybe even as a sort of retelling of the story of the first games.
Ummmm who gonna say to him… A DLC expansion already sorta exist but I am not gotta say spoilers but we get a mythical from kitakami… But I believe in let’s go Unova but because of the missing pokedex.
"speculation of getting something Gen5 related" We already did. That's what the Indigo Disk was ;D If anything, that to me felt like a move to give us at least some Unova because they aren't making any remakes of it for now, rather than set-up for it (for one, I feel like it would have felt way less isolated about it if they were working on something related)
But in regards to "Legends Unova" in particular, 1. I personally don't think a "Legends game" is a good fit for Gen 5 at all. I can see it for Johto with its emphasis and focus on tradition/history and some some thematic overlaps with Sinnoh; but Unova, one of its major themes is the CONTRAST of the past and future, so it would be very off-theme for it to focus on just ONE of those rather than on the contrast itself. 2. Legends is kind of synonymous with "open areas" and abundant nature, since that was a major aspect of the Legends game we got. That would, once again, fit pretty well as a revisit of a region like Johto with its simpler/nature-embedded imagery (seeing a tower stand out of forests is iconic "Johto"); whereas a lot of the most prominent Unova "icons" are highly specific urban-related sights, like Castelia city and the numerous bridges. And Unova's theme also being the CONTRAST of nature AND urbanization. It feels like forcing the Legends title onto Unova would just be detrimental by unnecessarily throwing certain expectations at it. So similar to my other comment about "Let's GO", Unova would benefit A LOT from being able to do its own unique game for a revisit that would allow it to expand on its actual existing themes rather than having to try and live up to a game concept that was conceived specifically to explore a "Sinnoh prequel".
3. I keep being surprised that no one else seems to share my interpretation of Kyurem after all these years, as people keep drawing a direct line from it to the Original Dragon, which doesn't make sense to me. I completely get the excitement about getting a glimpse of the Original Dragon, but if THAT's the idea we want to see explored, then Kyurem is the least relevant part of the relevant group of legendaries, as Kyurem is basically the complete opposite concept of the Original Dragon. It is quite literally the manifestation of the ABSENCE of the Original Dragon, it's what's left when you take the Original Dragon out of the equation. It's not a step TOWARDS the Original Dragon, it is the aftermath of the Original Dragon splitting and turning into 2 distinct fully fleshed out opposite extreme versions of itself. Kyurem only exists as a consequence of the split, and has become its completely own distinct creature with its own themes, particularly being a cold energy-seeking parasite (which is NOT what the Original Dragon would be about), and its "idea", of seeking and forcefully absorbing excessive power has already been explored in its own pair of games... and the take-away from that (I thought???) was supposed to be that fusing multiple dragons together results in monstrosities. So it makes no sense to me that people seem to see Kyurem as "step 1 of 2" towards going back to the original Dragon. The Kyurem Absofusion forms are already surpassing what the Original Dragon was (in terms of power), as the OG Dragon would logically have been an EQUAL to Zekrom and Reshiram; basically a balanced middle ground version of the two. ....the point is: exploring the Original Dragon idea would be cool some day, but it would be the opposite of Kyurem, not an even more excessive continuation of that.
I think Johto's remake will happen before BW's remake. But how exactly does a BW remake happen? BW has a sequel, and would Game Freak make a remake of BW2? Plus, you have Drayton and Lacey; how would their inclusion work? Oh I forgot Grimsley isn't part of the elite four anymore. I will be surprised if we get BW3, as the game occurs after Both Unova games.
I have a strong feeling were getting a trilogy to unova or at the very least a new unova game and a legends Mt silver, if it's legends Mt silver, it would encorperate the jhoto and Kanto region, but I'd understand if they wanted to separate those games for more profit, meaning we'll have a legends game for every region.... it only sounds reasonable that they would, each region had history
I don't think we'll get another mainline game this year. We'll probably see another let's go, arceus 2, or a game remaster like brilliant diamond but for black and white obv.
The only thing I want is a retraction of Dexit and a de-Dexit patch for SWSH and SV, which would make them worth purchasing instead of abominations that should never have been released.
I actually really wish they'd just skip this year and take their time with whatever's next. All of gen 9 has been shit in terms of quality and polish, so they need to spend more time on future games.
honestly, I don't think they'll do any of that DLC, they probably didn't plan on it, so they barely have progress on it, let alone gameplay footage as trailer Let's go Johto, while I could see it happen, it's likely a fading dream. I don't think they'll return to the old formula gen 5 remakes, they will absolutely do this, but I doubt this year Legends Unova, hell no
If we're revisiting any old region, it's gonna be Johto, but I see zero plausibility in it being as a "Let's GO" game, for numerous reasons (LGPE selling poorly in Japan, big gap since LGPE, no mascots remotely as marketable as Pikachu and Eevee), but the main reason is that a "gen 2" of Let'sGO is a conceptual contradiction. The whole point of the Let'sGO concept was to discard a lot of modern mechanics and be a simpler remake (that also cashes in on the GO-hype, which also is nowhere as big as it used to be), and Gen2 was about ADDING features and mechanics... I just don't see why this would ever be the choice over a unique new game set in Johto the way Sinnoh got a unique new game for a revisit.
If they do a Johto Let's Go, I really, REALLY hope they change it were you can fight wild pokemon. Grinding on LG Pikachu is such a SLOG when you can only catch pokemon to gain EXP.
I can tell you what it won't be. It will not be another bad Johto game, Legends game, more SV DLC, BW3, BW2 remake, Grey. The only realistic option is faithful BW remakes or a game that is not related to any past region.
