Awesome looking build! I just got my hands on my dream build as well, a Supersix Evo 2022 (Rim Break) It's always so exciting to start a new bike build. Funny how we say "Dream bike" until something else catches our eyes and we move on to the next "Dream bike" haha. One thing I'd have to say unless your bottom bracket height is exactly the same from bike to bike your paper towel roll measuring system isn't going to be very accurate. If it works for you then that's fine. A much more accurate way to measure correct saddle height would be to measure the distance from the center of the pedal axle to the highest contact point on your saddle.

Hi there fellow SuperSixer - it's an awesome bike!
Those newest Propels looks GREAT. I bought a TCR this year but yeah I'd rather have a Propel except for the front cable system, I personally like them external and that's in part because I will travel with the bike I wouldn't describe Giant as a direct to consumer brand because, worldwide, they are sold in a HUGE amount of stores - actually I think it's more than the next 2-3 brands combined. I didn't know you could order a frame online from them like that but since they can yeah they are at least in part direct-to-consumer. Anyways,.. as for differences vs the other frames you've used, I don't think there will be much. Long-term there are some for sure - the price and ease of resell, availability of parts like the seatpost, derailluer hangers, and bearings - you'll be able to buy those from Giant for many years.
12:34: The bottom half (approx 5 to 8 o'clock) of the bottom bracket shell looks a little scabby there. Hope it won't give you any creaking issues down the road. Nice bike, good vid!
Thanks Klein! The bike is built and I took it out for a ride this morning. I wont spoil it, but you already know what I'm going to say in the follow up video lol
I've done the same build up for my Trek Emonda SLR. At slower speeds on flat land I can't tell anything!!!! At higher speeds 30 mph + and going up 5% grade and stepper I can tell the difference. A little smoother and stiffer. Good luck and enjoy the ride.
@@PatrickLino I even have a no name carbon bike, little heavy but for cruising I can't tell the difference between a 2k carbon bike and and Trek SLR 8k+ until you really start pushing it. Like other channels I watch all say the same thing. Same mold but different carbon.
That is a sick frame, Patrick! You're going to love it. It's crazy how many people sleep on Giant. I have both a TCR and a Defy and I love them both. Perfect balance of performance and price-point.
It's true that there are many direct to consumer value brands out there, many of them that Patrick reviews on his channel (Yeoleo, etc.). Those options are actually great and some of my friends are on them and rice at a high level. No shade at all on those options but I have no idea how long they will last. My TCR is from 2012 and it's still going strong. Many people prefer a bike with a good warranty and the support of a local bike shop, too. @@Dustydayzz
Congrats on you bike. I do think only aluminum or steel bikes can be "forever bikes" at some point something is going to fail with carbon bikes. Love your videos. Its my dream bike as well:)
I actually just finished a build on Ventum NS1 in the carbon color (similar color to yours) and I'm also running D67 & prime carbon bars. Mine weighs 7.8 kilos
IMO, you’ll notice a difference in the frame going from the Chinese joint to a *big name brand. That was my experience when I did my own experiment with the Elves Falath Pro. Regarding your frame specifically, I prefer the traditional seatpost system like you have. The whole *cut-once thingy doesn’t “sit” well with me. See what I did there? 🤣 Looking forward to the ride review, 🙂 #RobbArmstrong
FYI that giant outfrount mount sux. Mine broke off while riding maybe 2 years after owning it. The plastic becomes dry and brittle and will eventually break off. I dropped my garmin and bontrager ion light im the middle of the ride. Also the hinge bolt loosens over the course of a couple of rides and makes the mount floppy at the most inconvenient times.
Oh crap thank's for the heads up! I am also using the ion light too. I've been using a really good mount from Amazon and I bought an extra one before realizing Giant provides one. Perhaps I should switch what I know will be reliable.
Giant's not a direct to consumer brand. They sell the majority, if not all of their bikes through their own network of Giant as well as independent bike shops. In Canada I can't buy a Giant directly off their website, I select the bike I want and Giant directs me to the closest Giant store that has it in stock. And I think their pricing is due to the sheer scale of their operations and having their own factories. They haven't eliminated the retail cost component the way direct to consumer brands like Canyon have.
