- How different are domestic cats and big cats? While house cats and big cats all stem from the same family tree, there are some noticeable differences. Cats were domasticated roughly 12,000 years ago. In the process of becoming pets, they strayed from many of their wild qualities.

Any domestic cat breed the size of *most* domestic dog breeds, let alone a Saint Bernard or a Newfoundland, would be too dangerous to keep as a pet.

Why? Are you planning on getting an indoor Lion, who will Nickmake you LUNCH?!? Your allergies will be fine. It’s the biting and killing that will be bothersome for a bit.
Domestic cats have actually changed very little from their wild ancestor (the African wildcat). The only major behavioural difference is that domestic cats purr even as adults.....and even this is suspect, because there is at least one case of a human-habituated (but not domesticated) African wildcat purring as an adult. So it may be that domestic cats are IDENTICAL in behaviour to their wild ancestor.
The issue here is that you’re comparing domestic cats to large cats, even though domestic cats are part of the SMALL cats. This is the actual reason why domestic cats cannot roar, etc; domestication had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Here's one oddity: a dog raised among purring cats growled all the time. It turned out that the dog was imitating the cats. Dogs can't really purr.
Cats are as lethal predators as the tiger; it's just that the domestic cats have smaller prey. Let them go outside, and they will make jungles as lethal as the Sundarbans out of suburban shrubbery for birds and rodents. .

Some of these claims have been found untrue in recent studies on the psychology of these animals. This video seems slightly outdated, while certain facts in this video are misinterpreted which is making them misleading.

Exactly. The premise of this video makes no sense because big cats were NOT the ancestors of house cats. The differences between them have nothing to do with domestication.

Every creature is a design by God, but men made up theories like evolution and in order to support their fiction they had to say "it takes billions of years" to make it seems remotely plausible. The world we know today was created by God's word in 6 days, so it's not older than a hundred thousand years, that's the biblical truth.
I love animal documentaries, but it seems evolution theory is everywhere and people seem to buy it.
