And there are very few being regimes, and if you research breeders, it’s often the same people going back to get another after one of theirs dies, or gets old.

“There are 500,000,000 cats in the world” “Yes, I breed about 20 cats every year, so OBVIOUSLY breeders like me are the ones that are making all these cats” Seriously, it doesn’t take ANY common sense to know that breeders aren’t even making 1% of the cat population. You guys just want something to be mad about
Yeah it's behavioral, but like she said, he's not bred down far enough. He's probably still got some of those wild instincts in him. She does say it's fading out with his age though, so hopefully with training bengals closer to wild cats will get better.
Toy is not in reference to their use it is reference to their size, compared to a tiger they are toy sized. Like dog breeds with toy in their breed names :)
If you think breeding makes something a toy, then you will be shocked that most pets have been bread through selective breeding. He's not doing anything different from what we have done with dogs and cats over the past few 1000 years.
Neither are dogs - they're both livestock, like it or not. Some of us befriend them, we love them and care for them, but ultimately, both cats and dogs, are livestock.
I literally have Bengal cats as strays in my garden 😭😭 what the heck 😭😭 also in this household, we love all cats regardless of their breed and what not. ALL CATS ARE AWESOME
Exactly, like they stated, one woman goes to cat shows to find other bengals, checks their pedigrees and compares them with her own to make sure inbreeding doesn't happen and to make sure she's still getting the looks she wants
It is kinda strange seeing them handle the cats like designer hand bags but as long as they’re responsible with the breeding and take good care of them and give them love I don’t see a problem with it 🤷🏻♀️
I owned a bengal for years, he was my best buddy. Found him for 100 bucks at a shelter in a mall I want another but I know i'll never get that lucky again.
One of the unstated goals of developing the cats with wild cat coat patterns was explained to me at a show. Many of the small wild cat breeds are severely endangered. While efforts are being made to preserve these breeds, the domestic cat people wanted to preserve the coat patterns in a domestic cat so that if the wild cat is extinct or super rare, they can breed back the coat pattern. This I heard in the 1990's so I don't know if it is still feasible.
This is actually a really good point and I didn’t know that!! Hopefully cats they mentioned, like the Serval have made a comeback in recent years. If not, I’m glad their coats are being preserved.
My aunt bred and showed Siamese cats for decades and she’s ask for her staging area to be on the opposite side of the building from the Bengals. She said they’d spray everywhere and her cats would be frantic if they were close to them.
@@maysae.2010 yeah that's exactly what's wrong. All cats are special, and you aren't a true cat owner if you choose your cat based on looks instead of how he or she is around you
These cats are a real handful, so many rich people just dump them on the streets and they eventually end up in a shelter. So if you're lucky you can maybe adopt one of these cats.
@@junkyardjess9360 that is a completely different problem of its own. Of course they need to be taken care of, negligence of which is imo a resultant of attention towards fancier breeds over the ones that are already existent.
@@junkyardjess9360 human attention span is so fickle. We only feel the need to pay attention to things that pique or fancy our interests. Responsibility as a result is fickle too. If something greater comes tomorrow, we don't clean up the mess that we might leave behind, most cases we don't even care.
Yeah, "take care of them." Do you know how these breeders treat their cats? There was a lady who mentioned that they needed a large number of cats to make sure they're not too inbred. It's hard to take care of hundreds of cats, correct? That means that they are often neglected by the breeders- hundreds of cats are left behind with minimal food, no regular vet check-ups, no comfortable place to sleep and certainly not a nice, loving home. And to add to all of that, the females have litter after litter after litter and every single kitten they have gets taken away. And then once the female is done breeding, she'll get put down or left on the street. I'd barely say that's taking care of them.
I have a domestic bengal and he is absolutely adorable. We have actually trained him to jump on you from a simple hand command and they are really smart. The craziest part? We rescued him as a kitten when we found him on the street. Seriously. And you know he is a bengal because of his markings. I love him to death
“I know there's an overpopulation of cats but I'm still want to create my own type of cat though.” “I know there's a human overpopulation out there but I'm still want my own son and daughter though.”
This feels like a moral grey area, but I guess as long as the cats are happy and healthy and well-taken-care-of and they're not being bred in such numbers as to cause many cats to be euthanized, then I guess it's fine. And those cats are pretty cool-looking.
We bred dogs for utility and safety. To help us hunt, to help protect our families, to help us farm and herd sheep. It wasn't a vanity project, at least not at first, and it never should be really.
@@samsonfgc3472 The major difference here is that the breeding technique is not the same. Many dogs were inbred for specific traits while those cats are hybrids from their wild, genetically diverse, felidae cousins. This means that they do not have health complications associated to them and most likely will not develop any complications granted if the technique is replicated with multiple individuals (both cats and big cats). Also this whole argument of failed dog breeds being the same as those cat breeds doesn't take into consideration that the pelt pattern might be a dominant trait. If it is, then the trait can be passed onto tabby cats (the general cat population) with no problem whatsoever. We'll have to see how the genes interact with each other to know what is co-dominant, recessive, het. and so on.
mrjdgibbs some dogs were bred specifically to be pretty lap dogs. 🤷🏽♀️ for the dog, it’s actually pretty stellar from an evolutionary standpoint - their genes are at no risk of going extinct. Like cows and pigs, they found their niche.
These cats do look cool and all, but I find normal cats beautiful for just the way they are, and there are so many of them in shelters, hoping for a good home... Also, why does it sound like they are treating these cats like they are toys to experiment on? I don't know, it just doesn't sound very right, but that is just my opinion.
@@Sub4CarClips the crossbreeding with wild leopard cat is very morally questionable Also the breeding of so many cats when there are so many in our shelters already
Get a cat. Million of cats would love to meet you and be your forever kitty - just choose one (or two). Cats are sooo much better than kittens; all kittens are cute but cats have 'personality' and you can pick the one (or two) that suit your lifestyle; a cuddle-puss, an independent character; one who loves to play or one who only sleeps on your lap ... I adopted an adult cat and that was one of the best things I ever did in my entire life. Go get a kitty!
Drunk Vegan Gal Not everyone can get a cat. They might not have enough money or not have the right home for it. My brother and I want to get a cat, but we can't change the fact that the last person who owned our mom's house let their cat "mark it's terrritory" everywhere.
If51aj - there are cat fostering programs at most no-kill rescue shelters. Fostering is a great option for you and kitty. You get the company of a cat till it can find a forever home and cat gets to relax in your place instead of a cage or crate in a shelter. They pay for vet bills and usually food and litter too. Although cats marking is a problem for some kitties - others wouldn't ever pee outside their box ^..^< I don't know about Zeeahko's situation; landlords can be anti-cat as well :(
The dogs and cats in these shows compete from young ages and are very well trained and socialised. If a dog is sensitive to noise or movement, that’s a sign for an anxiety problem and of course owners at these shows wouldn’t keep them in that environment
These professional animal trainers will say anything to defend their abusive practices, these animals are their slaves, they make an easy living from them. Circus animal trainers say the same things and they’re mostly out of business now.
Yea it could be overwhelming for the cats and dogs at the shows at times but I think some cats and dogs love the extra attention haha By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel just might change someone’s life!
As Bengal owner I strongly advise people not to get these designer wild cats. It's not fair to them to be confined and restricted away from their wild nature. They're just TOO MUCH CAT for most people. Once the novelty wears off, then you're stuck with a very energetic cat you can't deal with. very-very few people can provide an adequate home for these cats. NEVER GET AN ANIMAL BASED ON LOOKS! they never say what they do with all the cats that don't make the grade?
They sell the ones that don't make the grade after they get them fixed. That way they control the future look of the breed, but people who want them can have them. But I agree that F1s shouldn't be sold to city dwellers. But for farmers and people with lifestyle properties, it should be an option as long as they realise the commitment they're getting themselves in for. Some people want that much cat.
I have an F5 and an F6, both rescues. My F5 Princess is well behaved and looks wild. My F6 Fluffy is alternately scary or cuddly, possibly because she was abandoned and bottle fed, and looks nothing like a Bengal.
I have a bengal and he’s absolutely beautiful!! As I’m typing this right he’s on my back looking over my shoulder 😂 it sounds like you can’t handle your bengal..

That Woman that was breeding them basically said, "I know there's an overpopulation of cats right now but I don't care, I want this cat." Honestly as cool as these cats are they'll probably end up being more prone to problems. It's not worth the damage just to have a cat that looks like like a tiger.😔
Liam Lab lets be honest. When ppl get tired of these cats (which I’m sure will happen since they get treated like a show piece) they’re gonna be abandoned. Like huskies and wolf dogs.
@Oritra Kar in my opinion, adopting can help cats without homes. Your opinion is still valid because breeding is good(if you want specific cat breed). And every cat is better not just bred cats.
I like how many times they say the word "but". That shows you they are aware that it can be arguably consider wrong to do this *but* they don't want to stop.

@@Glitchibo it's the same with Persian cats and Exotic shorthair cats, which are basically Persians with short fur. Back in the Victorian times and a little after that, they looked a lot more like other cats and didn't have the pug-like face. I can't remember how it happened, but people started breeding them to have the noses that they do, which is a shame, I think. Sure, they have adorable faces, I think, but they have problems due to the noses they now have. They were perfectly beautiful before. Why did they have to be bred to look as they do now just to look a certain way?
My parents had an elderly Ragdoll cat with no hunting skills or killer instinct. The local birds loved to flutter around and make fun of.her. When she died, my dad got two young Bengals, and sadly a feathery bloodbath ensued.
I don't think they are doing this just for money or because they think cats are objects, clearly they love cats as much as anyone else and their goal is to create new breeds of cats so they can add to the already many beautiful breeds of cats in existence. How do you think the breeds of cats have been created and evolved over the centuries?
I personally shop but that's because I have cat and dog allergies so I want to make sure that I get a purebred cat or dog that's hypoallergenic because I get sinus infections around non-hypoallergenic pets. However, I do agree that people should adopt and not shop because there are lots of animals in shelters that need homes.
I found my silver marbled bengal kitten at an L.A. county shelter. Look in shelters before buying! The mother was also in the shelter with 5 other kittens.
My mom and I also found one in a shelter, and then a year later a stray started showing up on our doorstep. They both had extreme behavioral problems and would destroy a lot of stuff in the house, so yes people often buy them and put them up for adoption later when they realize it's too much

It’s funny that we went overboard with dog breeding. I have a Weenie Dog and I’ve done lots of research of how to care for her. Then I came to a stop..a video that showed how we corrupted the dogs heritage...(I think). The German Shepherd is shorter and is fatter than it was. My dogs breed has a longer body and if not hold correctly, its spine can be cracked(or broke ). Hopefully they do it carefully like they said. :)
yes!! unfortunately we're sort of well on our way there with munchkins and persians. they're cute (well... some of them; i'll never understand the smushed face appeal), but there's something vaguely horrific about willfully choosing traits that you know will decrease their quality of life just because you think it's cute.

Alexander Oquendo nope, not kidding you. A domesticated animal can be perfectly content living with humans. Cats, dogs, horses, etc. have evolved for thousands of years to live in human conditions. Dogs can digest kibble, cats can live in houses there entire lives. An exotic pet has needs that a suburban family can’t heed to. How happy do you think a tiger that lives in a cage in someone’s yard is? A wild bird that’s lived it’s entire life flying long distances being out into a space they can barely stretch their wings? Exotic pets and domesticated pets are different.
@@amysennett7001 yeah i totally get you but in terms of exotic animal its case by case. My two rosetted bengals are both purebred rescues, which is quite rare to find. They had been dumped in a plastic bag and left in a rubbish bin, all because Luna had a 'too short' tail, and Kuro had a missing leg. I love my Luna and my Kuro, and I'm so thankful for the amazing person who found them.

Thank you for rescuing! My first two Bengals were rescues and fantastic pets. I now have a retired breeder Bengal and a rescued F1 Bengal. Rescues are great and in the future I do plan to rescue more Bengals. They are, in my opinion, the most wonderful pets.
I own two pure breed Bengals named Anubis and Hermes. Hermes tail is shorter than it should be, he has a unusual nose shape without the dip in the nose bridge(I can't even really see and has no negative health effects) and he is overall stockier than most Bengals. He has shorter legs and is much more muscular and not as skinny than other Bengals. Makes him unsuitable for breeding somehow. He just turned 2 a few weeks ago and he is perfectly healthy and a sweet cat. Anubis had a typical Bengal body but his coat doesn't have the most desirable markings/rosettes. Both of them are awesome boys and we love then to pieces. They come from the same breeder but aren't related at all. Which was important to me. I don't want beautiful cats. It want happy and healthy cats.
I'm glad they mentioned the fact that there are so many shelter cats. I love these wild patterns too but can't justify it to myself until cats are no longer being euthanized for no good reason is shelters and living on the streets.
@Boden McDaniel Yeah, it’s sad to see that people are literally creating dogs just for their looks and don’t care about their health and what not. Hopefully cats won’t follow that path or a different negative path…..
There's always going to be people that think that they can be good owners until they don't want the pets any more. Stopping breeding won't stop pets being abandoned
Did you watch the video? They breed the cats, take the kittens that have the looks they’re going for and have the others sold to nice homes. They treat the cats better than most people.

My mother rescued a Bangel cat, Monkey, from a neighbor. He is domesticated but still a little wild. He picks fights with strays and even chases our other domestic cats around the house. If not let out he will ruin the carpets. He likes to be held for a short time, something even the domestic female cats hate, and has a loud purr and cries like a baby. He is fun to chase around the house and is not afraid of dogs. He even likes being touched by visiting friends and neighbors.

Overpopulation is not coming from these cat breeders. It’s coming from everyday people who pick cats up from god knows where and never get them fixed, then dump them outside or let them out unsupervised. Bengals are $5000+, nobody is dumping that out on the street, and most if not all are fixed before purchase because breeding licenses are hard to get and required.
The character of the cat is more important than the looks. Black cats can be very fierce. Scottish folds are often clean and more homey. Some cats just yell to get out all the time, while others are happy to be lazy at home and create less trouble for the owner.

Yea I have partially wild cat and before sterilization he was more like a bucket of dynamite in my apartment. Now after six years he is much much more calm but he's still major threat to anything alive. Owning a cat that is partially wild is very very hard. One of the unstated goals of developing the cats with wild cat coat patterns was explained to me at a show. Many of the small wild cat breeds are severely endangered. While efforts are
being made to preserve these breeds, the domestic cat people wanted to preserve the coat patterns in a domestic cat so that if the wild cat is extinct or super rare, they can
breed back the coat pattern. This I heard in the 1990's so I don't know if it is still feasible.
This is actually a really good point and I didn’t know that!! Hopefully cats they mentioned, like the Serval have made a comeback in recent years.
If not, I’m glad their coats are being preserved.

@@junkyardjess9360 that is a completely different problem of its own. Of course they need to be taken care of, negligence of which is imo a resultant of attention towards fancier breeds over the ones that are already existent.

At least the take care of them and don’t take their fur.

This feels like a moral grey area, but I guess as long as the cats are happy and healthy and well-taken-care-of and they're not being bred in such numbers as to cause many cats to be euthanized, then I guess it's fine. And those cats are pretty cool-looking.

We bred dogs for utility and safety. To help us hunt, to help protect our families, to help us farm and herd sheep. It wasn't a vanity project, at least not at first, and it never should be really.
that didn't work out so well for a lot of those dogs now did it?

Both of them are awesome boys and we love then to pieces. They come from the same breeder but aren't related at all. Which was important to me. I don't want beautiful cats. It want happy and healthy cats.
Your profile pic is everything
I want a helicopter cat
good luck trying to breed a cat to a helicopter, it's hard.
Bintang Anandhiya look up "drone cat", its already been done.
Well there ya go
ruclips.net/video/iQH4EBsZ_sA/видео.html
Apache cat seem looks better
Well get a cat and a helicopter put them in a room together and see what happens
I'm glad they mentioned the fact that there are so many shelter cats. I love these wild patterns too but can't justify it to myself until cats are no longer being euthanized for no good reason is shelters and living on the streets.
Did anyone else feel weird when he said I wanna make a specific cat as if he’s popping out iPhones
No- just you!
I found it rlly disturbing
It felt so weird
not really
@Boden McDaniel
Yeah, it’s sad to see that people are literally creating dogs just for their looks and don’t care about their health and what not. Hopefully cats won’t follow that path or a different negative path…..
Rather rescue a cat who needs me than spend money to breed more cats
@Oritra Kar not for the cat
@Oritra Kar then in that case, is it also your job to reproduce as much as humanly possible?
Don't bother with this fool down here he's just a troll
as a shelter volunteer, we need to adopt every cat in need before breeding them. there are so, so many cats that already need homes
There's always going to be people that think that they can be good owners until they don't want the pets any more. Stopping breeding won't stop pets being abandoned
I was lucky to adopt from a shelter a half Bengal/Domestic Short hair cat. Kinda a designer car for only $80. He is a handful but a love machine
@@shanewalker3273 at least there'll be less rejected cats that get abandoned
Not my job to adopt cats if I don’t want any in the shelter.
I agree. Fix them all and stop creating more mutations for impulse buyers who want a status symbol animal.
They are lives, not products. This was disturbing
True, they went too far, wanting the specific thing with 100% detaild of what he wanted
Sooo much. This is disgusting, they're not our toy that we can make changes on them or play with their genetics
Did you watch the video? They breed the cats, take the kittens that have the looks they’re going for and have the others sold to nice homes. They treat the cats better than most people.
Shut up and actually pay attention to the video there getting better treatment than most college students
Captain SARKY that and have these breeds may make owning real exotic cats less desirable
as long as the cats are being bred responsibly and given good love and treatment i don't see any problem with this. humans have been selectively breeding since the first days of agriculture
caramel coffee all dogs 2day have physical problems. u dont care? look at pics of dogs from 100 years ago and see.
yonatan All? No, I don't think so, some races may have problems, but not all dogs.
El canal de Tomy: Videojuegos que compartir u mean some r ok and the most have problems. ofcurse the ones humans played with .
El canal de Tomy: Videojuegos que compartir Actually they do, even if you aren't able to see them. For example, 60% of golden retrievers die of cancer - it's just part of the faulty DNA we bred them to have
Dogs that are being selective breeding like this, often suffer from horrible sides effects; so this could also happen to cats as well. There's also, an awful lot of over population of cats (mostly feral and stray cats). Which can be VERY bad, for numerous of reasons. These are things to just keep in mind.

I wonder how morally acceptable is to breed cats for entirely whimsical goals.
The goal is to shower a beautiful cat with love and affection. Is that entirety whimsical? If so then ask God about us, first.
@@sapienx99 you don't need to breed them for that. Go adopt
@@sapienx99 no

It's not. Period.
BRO HOW OLD IS ANTHONY
He's immortal lol cuz the cats blessed him
Ikr this man probably made a pack with the devil to stay young so he could go what he loves forever

i thought the same thing....
Just ask him he got Facebook account..
Toygers look really cool but I'd still rather get a random rescue cat, if I could.
Pick me. Pick me. 😿
David Smith there are so many cool rescue cats! I bet you could find one that isn't a toyger but fits your lifestyle and personality better! :)
He even likes being touched by visiting friends and neighbors.
hackman669 Good for it. If there is Bengal or Toyger cats at the pound, then I would get them, if I didn't already have enough animals. 🙂
David Smith we actually show cats. When I go to cat shows there's many bengals and a few breeders. Just look up a bengal cattery and you can possibly get one.
Meanwhile, I adopted the feral kitten that was hiding under the bonnet, lol
gsilva220 me too and she’s the sweetest most annoying thing in the whole world and I love her to death!
bs1820 feral kittens are the sweetest of them all.
abdiel velazquez yep found a mother with 9 kittens under our pool table a year an a half later 3 of them come in and check on us regularly and we leave food out for them every day they’re some of the sweetest cats 🥰
The exact same thing was done to dog breeds. They picked what they wanted out of the dog and the health of canines dropped. The medical defects.
Dog breeding has tons of inbreeding which caused genetic issues but It seems it isn’t as common here, at least with hybrid cats
"I know there's an overpopulation of cats but...man these are pretty cats and I'm not gonna stop because I want the fur to look a certain way" like what, why? For looks? Is that seriously how you justify this? I mean I know there are other breeders who are also harmful, and there will always be people who want to make cats for their looks rather than befriend ones that need homes, but the shamelessness with which she admitted that is just...idk, disappointing?
lol
@@deepstariaenigmatica2601 what's your problem?
Shutts poor guy doesn’t have a name.
@@deepstariaenigmatica2601 The world won't be the same if we write more paragraphs. It's freedom of speech, we as humans, have it and can use it as we like. Let's do some good with it, no?
Overpopulation is not coming from these cat breeders. It’s coming from everyday people who pick cats up from god knows where and never get them fixed, then dump them outside or let them out unsupervised. Bengals are $5000+, nobody is dumping that out on the street, and most if not all are fixed before purchase because breeding licenses are hard to get and required.
The character of the cat is more important than the looks.
Black cats can be very fierce. Scottish folds are often clean and more homey.
Some cats just yell to get out all the time, while others are happy to be lazy at home and create less trouble for the owner.
+epSos.de Idk if it's because of the NC feral breed but my cat is black and he's very nice
epSos.de I have zero clue where you got your black cat information from but it isn’t true at all. Black cats tend to have unique personalities but they are most definitely NOT fierce by nature. No cat is.
well i have a black cat but she is very playful and nice to me. if she didn't see me just for a night she will look for me untuil she found me. i love cat. no matter what color is it.
Black cat is not even a breed, it's a simple American short hair or American long hair (at least that's what I know). I have a black cat and he is very sweet, outgoing, and curious.
Even then it doesn't explain the whole picture. All cats have different personalitys, same breed or not. I know that some breeds may be more interested into food or wild, but that's it.
Keeping them in is more trouble
My cat is better than those, I trained her to scream at me defiantly when I say "no" or "get down from there"
Haha, my cat isn’t advanced enough for that, but she can play fetch
Yea I have partially wild cat and before sterilization he was more like a bucket of dynamite in my apartment. Now after six years he is much much more calm but he's still major threat to anything alive. Owning a cat that is partially wild is very very hard. If you want a nice cat, go to a shelter and pick one up there. I'm yet to see a cat that came out of shelter that wouldn't be grateful for having home and family.
Killerean Totally agree with you.
Shelter cats can have issues. The cats that are giving up for those reason are normally euthanized.
😂😂😂
Beautiful kitties. This is true. But, there are are millions of homeless cats at your nearest shelter just waiting for you to give them a home. 😺
