      On a more serious note, not angry indeed. He's just scared and feeling cornered. He's in a strange environment with strange people and he's being touched and handled. As cats are both a predator and a prey animal this is him very much feeling like a prey. He's growling to say that if she hurts him he'll hurt her.
      For the tub part, he's probably also wanting to stay in there and stay low because that way he's hiding, sort of. Not doing a great job of it but staying low with the walls of the tub around feels instinctively safer than being out in the open.

    I used to pet sit for a neighbor's Bengal cat, and she was seriously the sweetest cat I've ever encountered. She would come running and leap into your arms, drape herself across your shoulders, and nuzzle your head. All she wanted was love, and she gave it back × 100. After she's mostly dry, she will show up and be loveable to us. She also goes into the carrier the same way. Kitten spends the entire week sleeping on my shoulder, wrapped around my neck, or curled in my lap, and my giant 95 lb lab/bloodhound mix has adopted her as his own and she has adopted him as her plaything and constant companion.
    Friend comes back. "Oh wow. She looks like a different kitty than when I left her. Thanks for taking such good care of her. I'm ready to take her back now."
    My dog who has known my friend for years: Growls when she tries to pick up kitty.
    Kitty: Ferocious kitten hiss.
    Me: "No. And her name is Kenzie."
    My friend: "Okaaaay. Looks like everyone is in agreement."
    It wasn't even a foster fail. It was a kitten-sitting fail! But my friend, who was genuinely fostering her until she was healthy enough to be adopted, was overjoyed. She just quietly took Kenzie off the rescue's books when I told her I'd have her spayed on my own dime when she was healthy enough so the rescue could spend their money on the ones without a home. Her growth was stunted from being sick (her brother is over twice her size) but she's been healthy her entire life once we made it over that early hurdle. Just turned nine in May and she's still my little spitfire.

      @roanc3709 3 дня назад +3

      He shat himself out of fear. That’s not trusting. And he had no reason to trust, because she saw he was scared and continued anyway. She has many options for animals scared of the blow dryer that don’t involve forcing them to do it until they evacuate their bowels out of fear (which is a fear response that has the purpose of becoming as light as possible to run away from the threat at the top possible speed the body can manage. That’s how scared this poor little thing was)

    • @jarofpickles4057
      @jarofpickles4057 3 дня назад +6

      @@roanc3709 An indoor animal is literally always going to be afraid in a foreign space, especially when their owner isn't there, in the room with them. She can't just stop everything and call the groom finished because the animal is a little bit scared. If the cat was getting violent to display its fear, that would be another thing. She has ended grooms before for that reason.

    • @roanc3709
      @roanc3709 3 дня назад +9

      @@jarofpickles4057 that’s not true. Sure an animal is probably going to be a bit nervous, but this is beyond a bit nervous. This cat was so scared it was showing so terrified submission. It was so scared it was emptying its bowels in preparation to flee. Do you realise how terrified a predator descended from wild cats has to be to switch into prey mode? This is a level of fear beyond getting violent with the groomer and it was completely ignored. Violence is not the only signifier of extreme fear, and a groomer should not decide whether it’s appropriate to continue based only on markers that would put them in danger. She could have stopped the groom, she could have used a different method of drying, as she has done before. She instead chose to continue traumatising the cat until it got so scared it evacuated its bowels to prepare to run for its life (because that is the purpose of that fear response). And lest we forget this is immediately after the disgusting previous video where she continuously tried to brush cats that were from the moment she started to interact with them, very obviously in no state to be groomed, simply to get some hissing footage.
      Acting like this is a normal level of fear to be expected from an indoor cat at a groomers is ridiculous. The most that should be expected is for the cat to be a little spicy. You seem to be assuming that this is the stage of fear before aggression, but it’s actually a stage long after, where the animal is at a point where it is so scared it is not trying to fight back anymore but rather to appease the source of the fear and prepare to run as fast as it can when it has an opportunity. Ignoring that body language is disgraceful. Putting a video of you ignoring it on RUclips to monetise is disgusting.

    • @Kyosumari
      @Kyosumari 3 дня назад

      @@roanc3709 You;'ve made up your mind, cast your judgements, and curated a very severe and passionate story that didn't match what i saw in the video. While your understanding of possible animale behaviors isn't entirely incorrect, that doesn't mean that's what we saw. Many household pets will poop just from being put in a carrier and being nervous about going to the vet - this is a normal response that does not always mean they are being traumatized and abused. If this was the case, every pet owner who's ever had a nervous or anxious cat would then be a monster to you. Out of hundred upon hundreds of videos, a cat evacuating itself is very rare. Maybe put down your pitchforks and look at the larger body of evidence. Any time a pet has been so stressed that it's unsafe to continue, Vanessa has stopped, Stopped recording, and then come back and been transparent about the need for that break the entire time. This cat was not showing signs of dangerous stress levels, which can be exhibited in the 'panting' breathing, how they hold their jaw when doing so, sometimes drooling, etc - this is a sign that the cat is so stressed that its dangerous to their health, and has in fact cause Vanessa to halt the process or choose a gentler method. The method she used today was not the high velocity dryer, but instead the box dryer, which is both less aggressive, and gentler on a cat's sensitive skin. This cat in particular seemed to dislike being moved and 'changing tasks' every time he finally got settled in and accepted each step, at the worst, and while your concern is awesome, it's not as bad as you make it out to be, IMO. If you're truly concerned, report and move on, and stop watching. Simple.

    Thank you for the video, Vanessa!

    Hello Girl with the Dogs! My little Chihuahua Beans passed away on Monday he was literally my best friend for 15 years. It would be awesome if everyone could hug and give kisses to their pet best friends and maybe an extra treat every one in a while as a small remeberance of Beans and all pets everywhere. Ok, thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a good day all.

    OF ALL ANIMAL BREEDS !!! This must be a sign!!! My youngest son went out and bought me a Bengal kitten a day ago!!! Kitten isn't old enough to be released from litter yet but to log on and see this Bengal getting groomed and washed .... im totally enamoured !!!! To those wondering, my youngest son is age 25 and his two bothers ages 27, and 28 , i as their mother diagnosed stage 4 breast cancer. I have anywhere from a few months up to 5-10 years to live. My son knew i have always wanted a bengal cat and a wiener pup lol and he took it on himself to go out and buy me both lol. This gets even better, once his brothers found out, they pitched in to help with the cost AND they all are willing to do the cleanings feedings and training while i get to enjoy the fun stuff lol. Pets do make all the difference in people's lives. In cases like mine it has brought my family together in so many fun ways!!

      I don't know wiener pups, but bengals are quite the adventure :) VERY close to their "main human", very cuddly and clever! Also, they are very active, need attention, and can even have behaviour disorders (like being VERY loud) when they are bored, so it is really amazing that your family is helping too, this way your cat won't feel like a "burden" when you feel exhausted. They absolutely can get along with dogs, so you may have very cute moments ahead :) Wishing you the very best about your health, take care 🤍💪✨

      I had Bengal male hanging outside of my old apartment. I already knew he was a Bengal once I laid eyes on him. Everyday I would sit by the door and gave him pets while my old neighbor would feed him.
      During that time, I was dealing with my last year chemotherapy appointments for stage IV MBC. My hormones were going crazy putting me in depression. At my Oncologist's appointment, I have mention about this Bengal and her medical advice was to "Bring the cat into my home" because I needed positive distraction. Yeah, don't mention about finding any cat to a "cat loving" Oncologist. 😆
      That's how I got Buddy

    Honestly think all hybrid cats should be illegal to breed, as should wolfdogs. Even those that are successfully raised to be friendly have needs that most regular pet owners can't meet and behaviours that most don't know how to manage. That results in miserable, destructive animals that end up abandoned or euthanized. Some bengals are great, especially as they're bred further from the wild cat origins, but for every wonderful pet bengal there's another whose wild genes won out and cannot ever live normally as a housecat. It's even worse with savannahs.
    Hybrids are the essence of vanity breeding with no empathy for the quality of life of the animals. They're no better than the scottish folds with painful connective tissue disorders, the french bulldogs who need surgery to breathe, or show line GSD's with severe anxiety and joint problems. We have too many animals in need of homes to justify breeding ones that will have unhappy lives by virtue of their genetics. (I am not against breeding as a whole, especially for working dogs, but this sort of thing is extremely unethical.)

      And there is also the question of the wild cats involved in the breeding. Where are these cats sourced? What conditions are they kept in?

      There are many bengal-specific breed rescues, hybrids have grown massively in popularity and are often surrendered to shelters because their behavior can be a crapshoot-as you’d expect when you hybridize wild and domestic animals. 😕 Don’t get one just because they’re pretty (they are!) but they’re also essentially exotic pets. They have incredibly high energy needs and prey drives and may not behave 100% like a domestic cat.
