The old ferry that I remember from My childhood had wooden plank that you had to drive onto. Once your car in place - in park - my sister and I used to go to the railing and just look out at the water,!
Yes! I remember doing that with my brother too! I think it is still in operation. I saw it going last year!
I stayed at the Lenhart Hotel once or twice. Its the fairly large yellow painted wood siding building with all the chairs to sit on the porch or lawn . It really does have a turn of the 19th & 20th century feeling. Back then the 60 or 70 something Lenhart brothers ran it. dunno who runs it now.
I love to sit on the porch of the Lenhart! It’s so relaxing, and beautiful at sunset. Thank you for that information! I didn’t know the history of it. 💙
The first paying job I ever had was as a pin setter in the bowling alley upstairs at the Village Casino, If I remember correctly 10 alleys penny a frame 10 cents a game. Lovely town. Graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1960. Great video...thanks.

It would have been nice if you would have stopped at some of these shops - unless they have changed alot - were cool to visit. Take the ferry to bemus point - as kids, my parents would take us on the ferry! Don't remember where our destination was - maybe it was just a ferry ride! I loved it!
This was one of my first RUclips videos. If I had made this video today I would certainly have taken you into the shops! I was just starting out, and I was shy about filming in front of people, haha! I am much more confident these days! I’ll have to make another a Bemus Point video some day! I love the ferry! One of my best friends rented the ferry after her wedding to take us across to the Casino for the reception! Such a beautiful area!
It's already changed a lot since the video. Lennart Hotel is closed, See-Zuhr House is now 14 Main, Splash is open on the corner, and The Landing is next to The Fish. I own Treasures on Main. Stop in and say Hi if you come to town!

Fantastic Tour of Bemus Point ! My family and I have been going there every summer for 28 years. This is the first year that my husband will be going on our own. We always stay at the Hotel Lenhart.
