It's Western New York's best kept secret. I went for ten years in a row until I went to university. Miss those days!

We lived in a cottage in the Texas/Colorado Chautauqua grounds in a park just below the Flatirons above the University of Colorado in Boulder.

My ex-husband was enrolled as a graduate student at U of C. WINTER RENT was reasonable. In summer, participants in the Chautuqua took over the buildings.

I've visited the one in New York as a tourist once while I was college student; briefly stopped through in the 1980s. I think it's a fine experience.

Chautauqua doesn't need diversity; the lack of diversity is what makes it such a nice place to visit.
