      Thats his money shot. It opens up everything else. It can absolutely land but he lands it on orthodox fighters. Alex switches stances and stands pretty square to his opponents and has a reach advantage so it might not that easy for khalil as it would be easy for alex to stay just out of reach and counter.

    Watching this, I hope this fight is a banger, but one thing that's kind of apparent (even from Bangkok-Dangerous Khalil) is that he just not very good at checking and/or avoiding leg kicks... And Alex has one of the best no-tell leg kicks in the game.
    So I'd imagine his lead leg get shredded in first half of the first round... leading to Khalil trying to rush in force something to happen, and maybe we get a couple of decent exchanges, but he'll eventually end up getting caught with the left hook.

      That fighter actually went into another promotion and became a champion. There's a Khalil reaction video on RUclips to a reporter informing him. He tears up. He didn't want to do that, but it's his job, so if there is an opening, he has to take it in order to earn money and keep surviving in this world...

      I feel he is like Mike Tyson of LHW. He fights with the same intention of dealing damage and KO like Mike. Same intensity.
      I like him a lot.
      His background story makes him quite interesting. His father was manager of Boys 2 men who got murdered when he was a child.
      He then suffered from real obesity and depression, started training MMA/Muay Thai and started losing all the weight, got ripped. Started competing in UFC.
      Has brutal KO's and now challenging for the belt.
      Yet, he has a sweet personality. Reminds me a bit of DC in a way - DC also had his father murdered as a child.
      Suffering makes character

    • @TurboLemon
      @TurboLemon 2 месяца назад

      It's probably too difficult and/or risky to time it. Most fighters will strategically put themselves in a "downed" position by definition (at least one hand on the mat), making it illegal to kick or knee, so they can avoid brutal knees and kicks.

      Probably because Pereira cleaned out most of the top ten. The guys ahead of Khalil that Pereira didnt beat are Ankalaev, Rakic, Krylov, and Oezdemir. Ankalaev and Rakic are scheduled to fight at 308 and Oezdemir and Krylov (who is scheduled to fight on 309 anyway) are 3-2 in their last five.
      Pereira probably doesnt want to sit around and Rountree is on a 5 fight win streak and basically the only guy available. Plus, it's almost guaranteed to be a striking battle.
