      @@cedricfeacher5993 yes. Jordan literally just came back at the end of the season. He was not in nba conditioning after 2 years . The other guys had been playing all year. Even the greatest needs to get his legs under him. That shaq magic team was scary & went to the finals & got swept bc they were babies. If shaq stayed however I dont know if they would have stayed great. Anderson apparently was messed up by missing the 4 straight FTs which is obviously all mental & penny got hurt.

  • @meharinationsportspodcast2582
    @meharinationsportspodcast2582 7 лет назад +302

    This was built frustration because of several reasons.
    1. That year, the Bulls were a middle pack team and weren't going anywhere before MJ returned towards the end of the season.
    2. Pippen demanded to be traded after refusing to go on the court in GM 3 of the ECSF against NY when Phil made a play for Toni Kukoc for the game winner.
    3. He felt that he was still under MJ's shadow and was getting underpaid by the organization.

If u were bulls gm and u have ur best player under 6 y contract would u say after 2 3 years ok I will pay u more...no of course not...it was his own fault

    • @meharinationsportspodcast2582
      @meharinationsportspodcast2582 7 лет назад +8

      Tomi Saric That is true, it was Jerry Krause who tried to convince Scottie not to sign the new contract for those under valued reasons, but he wouldn't budge because he wanted his pay day.
      I was felt that Krause was mostly right on the perception of personalities on Jordan and Jackson's ability to build a winning team as an executive. And Pippen lack of knowledge of money management during contract negotiations.
      Good points on your end!!

    During the 1994/1995 season during the first 65 games Jordan was still retired the bulls were 34 and 31 34 and 29 in games pippen played in. The reason the bulls struggled during the first 65 games Jordan was still retired was because they lost Horace grant and Scott Williams to free agency in 1994. But the bulls were still in the sixth seed and pippen was leading the in every team category. The bulls were going to make the playoffs if Jordan don't come back because the Celtics were the eight seed with a 35 and 47 record. The bulls would have won 41 to 44 games if Jordan don't come back and would've been a seventh seed at worst.

    All Scottie did was yell “3 seconds” to Joey Crawford. Pip felt Dennis was in the paint for 3 seconds and he was notifying that to Joey. Joey been whack

    Things went from bad to worse for the Bulls - they ended up losing this game when Robinson stole an inbounds pass with the score tied in the final seconds and drove the length of the court for a layup with about a half second left.

    I know the obvious comparison is Bobby Knight. But this actually reminded me of a tantrum Tim Hardaway Sr went on where he grabbed a tv monitor on the scorers table and threw it onto the court (this was still plugged in when he grabbed, it mind you, but the cord went with it) as he walked off post-ejection.

    No way the NBA was going to allow pippen a ring without jordan(he was fully capable but bad calls can control the game) pippen is not the cash cow jordan is. Cant say jordans the greatest if pippen gets a ring without him and profits go down because Jordans not the main reason for success

      Totally agree, finally someone who TRULY sees the game for the way it is. In 94' the Bulls was WELL on their way to a 4th title (& one WITHOUT MJ). The league couldn't have that, so they put refs against Scottie & the Bulls.

      nice theory but pip really fuck up his chance when he acted like a spoiled brat in the playoffs when phil designed a play for kukoc, who was the better clutch player,. look at lebron giving way to kyrie during clutch, he won a ring doing so..if what you said was true regarding the nba protecting jordan, detroit wouldn't have won any championships,. pippen collapsed under pressure,.

      Let's just say that bad call was never called against the Knicks, Bulls win in 6, they would have beat the Pacers in the eastern conference finals, they would not have beaten the Rockets in the 1994 NBA Finals.
