    The dunk was
    - in the playoffs
    - against a legitimate rival
    - on a respected defensive player and HoFer
    - on a 7-footer
That is just the set-up without getting into the dunk itself with Ewing falling down, Spike Lee getting dissed and the referees calling a technical. Simply the best facial of all time

Basketball is a team game, and no 1 player wins a Championship by themselves. Jordan was the superstar that put them over the edge. Every team has that one or 2 players that really puts the team on the next level of greatness. MJ was that person on the Bulls, Kobe on the Lakers, Lebron on Cavs, Bird on Celtics, Magic/Kareem(choose one) on the Lakers, etc... list goes on and on. Its very rare there is a team with no studs that can combine and be just that good as a whole team, to overcome a team with superstars.

Finally after all these years, this play, this dunk is getting the attention it deserves. This was in the playoffs, against a legitimate rival. It meant something. A lot of people think Scottie was overrated. Well I'm not one of these people. In fact I think he's underrated and underappreciated. Yeah I agree that he wouldn't have won 6 rings hadn't he played with the GOAT. Scottie though could have easily left the Bulls and be the 1st option on another team. But he didn't because he cared more about WINNING than INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Scootie wouldn't have won 6 rings without MJ. No doubt. But the opposite is also true. Pippen's LEADERSHIP and UNSELFISHNESS were/continue to get overlooked and we should appreciate the GREATNESS of Scottie Pippen. Don't forget that he's arguably the best perimeter defender in history.

Sadly, people would disregard his defense just cause he didn't win a DPOY award. I'd argue that he was a better defender than Mike because he could go 1-4 and would always go for the best offensive non center on the other team. I've had arguments over people calling him a mere sidekick.
