Brilliant, such a class act both on and off the field. I'm not a Liverpool fan, but Dalglish, for me, was a genius. I've lived in Scotland, so I understand and love his cheeky glaswegianness.
This man's smile just lit up stadiums around the world ,always a joy to watch .Terrific player for Glasgow Celtic .Liverpool Football Club ,Blackburn Rovers and Scotland , A man who keeps it real , Through good and bad times he's remained with feet firmly on the ground ,Glasgow sence of humor still shines thru , great listening to him .
Sir Kenny Dalglish, the greatest of them all. The King of Anfield. Man, you should have seen him play in his prime, he was truly fantastic. Alongside Rushie, the most deadly striker you've ever seen, a true predator, those two were incredible. Our Kenny, is the greatest of them all.
Couldnt agree more. I was in the ground in 2006 for the 20th anniversary charity match replay of the 1986 FA cup final. I remmember a ball being played into the Liverpool 18 yard area, and Mark Lawrenson turning very slowly in response. Many in the crowd laughed, but i said to a guy alongside me, there are many fans here today, who have no idea of just how good these former legends were. As you rightly say, Kenny and Rushie were incredible, but Lawrenson and Hansen at the heart of defence, just sheer class.
His accent is astonishingly strong given how long he's lived in England! But he's Scotland's greatest ever player and it was touching how he mentioned Denis Law. Kenny only has one rival for the title in Scotland and it's the Lawman. For people of a certain age, Law will always be the best. Kenny is of that age and the respect he gives Law is a measure of the man. Dalglish should have been the European player of the year at least once. But UK players rarely got that recognition during his time. Keegan got it twice but had to go to Germany. What a career. Scorer of the greatest goal in Scotland's history. Ironically, at Anfield. Nothing will ever beat his header v Wales that night. Not just for the goal's importance, but 40,000 Scots going mental!
I'm from bridge of Allan left 1976 to come with my family. In. Australia Perth Kenny is a legend. Typically Gentleman. And my whole family support Rangers I'm the only one supports Celtic. All the best PERTH WA Australia.
Two of the greatest players of my lifetime. The day Kenny signed is forever etched in my memory, we could never have dreamed how much he would give to us and how much we would love him. His like will never be repeated and he's also instrumental in bringing God into the red 11. How could we ask for any more.
Brilliant interview. I was surprised by how Sir Kenny speaks positively about his relationship with Fergie. As a United fan, I used to enjoy watching Dalglish and the rest of that Liverpool team of the 70s. They were a machine. I remember going to watch United - Liverpool at Old Trafford on Boxing Day 1978. We got well and truly spanked 3-0. Never thought they could replace Kevin Keegan, but they signed Sir Kenny. Liverpool went to another level.
