Still pisses me off slightly that Carra retired ONE year too early because the next season our front 4 clicked and i KNOW that the 50+ goals we conceded wouldn't have been so high if Carra was playing.. I'm sure he would have won us an extra point or two but...
I've said the same thing so many times! If he was in the team we'd have won it, the defence was struggling and his mental strength would have got us across the line! The other thing everyone forgets about is Suarez being out for 7 games at the start of the season! The season failure isn't down to Stevie!
Roders brings in minolet . They whole defence were terrible . mignolet was awful . j allen terrible , g Johnstone was really really bad that season . If rodgers had kept Pepe R . 50 goals against we were never going too win that season . the other bloke is TERRIBLE . He is like a j WHYte wanna be fraud fraud fraud .
As A J points out, people jump on your mistakes and forget everything else. I thought that was a really interesting listen. Baggies fan. No real connection to Liverpool but like Carra.
I remember seeing Jamie Carragaher in one of his first ever perfromances at Anfield in the 1996/97 season. I can't remember the opponent, it might have been West Ham but it ended a 1:1 draw. There were too many draws at Anfield that season.... Carragher came in for either Michael Thomas, John Barnes or Jamie Rednapp who were the three first choices (usually two out of three played due to a back five set up under Roy Evans). I remember coming away from Anfield being distinctly unimpressed, and decided in my mind he had no real future at Anfield at all. Throughout the match Jamie only passed sideways, no forward pass, and what concerned me was he had to pivot his whole body to pass the ball in a certain direction, showing a distinct lack of technique or natural ability. Jamie also seemed to have no real athleticism which is needed in midfield. So , over the years I became pleasantly (and extremely) surprised Jamie became such an important player in the team to the point where he is top five in appearances for Liverpool. However, listening to Jamie here it begins to make more sesnse. Clearly Jamie knew his limitations and realised that he was only going to make it as a defender. As Robbie said, his biggest asset is probably communication and will to win so that makes up for other attributes such as speed or great technical ability. It could be that I was a bit harsh judging Carragher's abilities as I grew up watching midfielders like Molby, McMahon, Whelan, Houghton, Spackman and by 1997 Liverpool were not getting those quality players anymore. But at the same time Jamie was never a good understudy for Michael Thomas or Jamie Rednapp. Therefore, definitely salute Carragher for having the career he ended up having at Liverpool Football Club.

@@mulletmanpete He sits in 39th place in PL for yellow cards. I wasn't referring to that side of the game, more the showing up every game and playing like he actually cares.
Carra's greatest game was definitely the 2005 CL final. That Milan team was one of the best 11's in the history of the game. Theyw ere in their prime too, not on the way down etc etc. Carra and the other lads gave everything they possibly could and it was really taking a tole in extra time. Between their skill, efforts and luck, we somehow won that game. They might not have won the PL but they've done something that will maybe never be matched, in winning that CL, in that way.
Cara maybe didn’t have natural ability, but his mind was sharp which gave him that extra yard on the pitch. His understanding helped get him into the best positions before it turned into something dangerous. Read the game brilliantly and as he said himself, was never quiet. Even Big Drogba said cara was always shouting, at him and his own players.
Carra was a hoof merchant and his dominance of the club meant we had a hoof merchant with little technical ability ordering people around. May have known his stats but as Neville proved that means nothing about being a successful manager or league winning vice captain. Carra to me seemed a bully. Yea I agree. We leaked too many goals that season and we were scoring for fun with suarez and Sturridge. If carra had of been ther i think we could have had another 10 points on top of what we had
Brenda was the queen of talking himself up, he put his brand in front of the club and wanted rid of Carra and Gerard. Klopp is a totally different beast. Btw, without Suarez hes not in a title fight. Who bought Suarez? Brenda was never for me. I remember his statements when he was Swansea boss and i was 'wtf?'. He HAS improved hugely and Celtic was great for him but Brenda was always about Brenda. Still is.
Thiago is too good for Liverpool at the moment, can’t be much fun for him at the moment in there. Unless there is significant change into next season, he’d be best to cut his losses and look at another move. Hope things do work out for him, because I’m a red and I’d love him to be thriving at the club, but I look around and he’s just on another playing level and we aren’t there yet as a squad.
If Klopp thinks James Milner is the better option than Tiago for the Real Madrid game at Anfield then Tiago has no place at Anfield for any game moving forward. Waste of £20 million.
What he really meant was he had to foul all the time to compensate for lack of quality and strength in other areas. And he got away with murder. If he played for any other club he would have been sent off 10 times more.

@@mulletmanpete He sits in 39th place in PL for yellow cards. I wasn't referring to that side of the game, more the showing up every game and playing like he actually cares.
What happened to the Joey Barton episode?
Great shout. Just noticed it's missing..... Robbie & Joey got on very well? Only who knows 😁
@@Tricky181 was telling my mate to watch it ....and it's gone 🕵️♂️ get sherlock Fowler on the case

I saw that 1, i Wonder if it was about him tearing into Mark Hughes?
I watched that 1 was a good podcast
Love these 👏
This podcast is pure class! I mean Carra and god himself?! Couldn’t possible be better.
It would be great if you broke the episodes down into shorter bits.
Jamie is correct, honesty comes first.only way to keep your head up high ynwa
Def a legend of the club and love the guy but was too dominant in the squad and we are better off with technical CBs and captains who understand that a squad is a best way of winning league titles.
@@cameronclarkcarltontv4308 ..... cara bullied his way to a career. I don’t think I have ever anything more ridiculous.

Also stat of last year Liverpool players especially Sadio. His role before he got good recorded of scoring goal with Sarah has to dribble more to get him near goal to score it make his goal score decreased. Which stat of last recent years Sarah dribble not the first abilitiy instead shooting stat was his main things
Why have the swear words been bleeped out?
My favourite podcast on your channel keep up the good work lads
I wish he didnt care as much about how we thought. I've always thought if we had Carra in 2013/14 we may have won the league. We needed more experience in that defence. Thought carragher would have just chipped a goal or two off and got us an extra point or two.
Edit: typed this just before the 2013/14 question
All hail the legend from Bootle
Not matter how you look at it, it is jobs for the boys. There are lads who have been in the academy for years and don't get a chance at the highest level who deserve it.
12:20 - warning for Nunez
Get Steve finnan on Robbie 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Would like that too. Such a under appreciated player by many
Would have been Interesting to see how Carra would have done if he had been given a coaching role at the club! I'm sure he,d have been an asset.
Robbie asks Carta about Jerzy save v Shevshenko 2005.
I was high as a kite in a pub in London can’t recall any of 2nd half or ET after we went 3:3. tequila chasers for each goal was a bad idea. woke up for Pens though. what a night.
ended up Girlie Club til 6am.

I believe the 2007 liverpool team could beat 2019 liverpool team cara was a world class defender he is also a quality analyst and the football YNWA reds 4life come on reds let's go
He wasnt world class.
Carra's wife making plenty of noise in the background 😂😂
Can't understand why two people give this video a thumbs down. And I'm a die hard Manchester United fan. LOL
Cracking podcast. Fowler was an iconic player when I was growing up.
I froze in time at that moment to.

you put thiago in a midfield with fabhinho an henderson then you will see
You're prediction was absolutely right lad...
Carra is an Evertonian, and that came out clearly for the world to see at the last Merseyside derby
He’s a pundit. It’s his job to be impartial. It’s fairies like you who are the problem with the current society - can’t take criticism even when it is deserved and constructive
@@rickeyshah9802 Fairies?? LoL...ok mate
Did you actually watch the game and pay attention to his commentary on Sky Sports?
@@sammyboyjnr5520 yeah I did, and I agree with the criticism. You need to understand that he’s harsher on Liverpool because he cares. Also if a mother team deserves praise, then it’s his job to give it. We were rubbish that day, so I have no problem with the criticism
@@rickeyshah9802 So when Salah is clearly fouled and Carra calls it a dive what is your explanation? Or when Trent gets a knee in the head from Calvert Lewin who then proceeds to fall over him after already taking a shot at goal, and Carra then calls it a penalty?
I'm sorry...I'm not buying that
Carra might love Liverpool, but he loves Everton more. But his media persona and public identity is built on him being a staunch Liverpool fan. And so most people just accept it at face value.
@@rickeyshah9802 Fowler on the other hand, while being an Evertonian growing up, clearly is a proper Liverpool fan. You can tell he is genuine.
About Jamie's speech " manager responsible for team result. There are no excuse. That's true but on Liverpool circumstances we don't have owner that commit to team without the thoughts of losing revenue. If Kop has got those opportunity of his old and this club. I guarantee he would be the top of table

Repeating myself, it's not the game vs Chelsea it is the game vs Palace where we lost that title
Need to sort out the sound quality on these podcasts. Also, need to cut out background noise. Sounds like someone doing the dishes at one point
Absolutely. CL is a knockout competition. If my sister hadn’t banned me from betting, I’d punt 50 quid. Carra more onside with these comments than he has been recently
The great wall of Bootle!
Does he talk about stabbing Rafa in the back with Purslow the snake and his final contract??? Can't be arsed watching it.
Caragher shouldn't put himself down so much and remember why we sang that song about him, made a big difference to the team, just wish he'd stayed one year more and I bet he wishes he did too
If he had stayed one more season you lot would have won the title
Yea I agree. We leaked too many goals that season and we were scoring for fun with suarez and Sturridge. If carra had of been ther i think we could have had another 10 points on top of what we had
haha in your fucking dreams buddy!
Yes Jamie “ to be honest”.
Still is.
Correct bodgers is waste

It took Coutinho a while to settle.

Have been watching the games? What a load of dribble, he has for the most part been underwhelming. Couple good games, needs to be better.

If Klopp thinks James Milner is the better option than Tiago for the Real Madrid game at Anfield then Tiago has no place at Anfield for any game moving forward. Waste of £20 million.
wish he had played one more season - no way we would have conceded 50+ league goals and we would have won the league 2013/14
Thank God I didn’t see one Nike shirt.
What he really meant was he had to foul all the time to compensate for lack of quality and strength in other areas. And he got away with murder. If he played for any other club he would have been sent off 10 times more.
