I think beyond his achievements in football, Dalglish is more admired for his humanitarian efforts, particularly his response after the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.His compassion and support for the victims and their families is truly admiring and something that we can learn from. Forever a Liverpool legend for me, but an even greater human being. Thank you king kenny, for everything.
Ibrox and Hysel too. He's had many lows but many highs throughout his career. The greatest liverpool player of all time for me. Rush and king dominant in the 80s. Player manager too. Came back to liverpool. The work with shearer, sheer wood, reply, Sutton, David batty, flowers, le saux, berg etc to win the prem at Anfield. Celtic legend too. Absolute legend

I`m 47, was born in 76` and grew up in the Eighties, So enjoyed the best memories of football because of King Kenny. Rush Barnes and all those Liverpool Legends who I will forever Idolize. Thank you Kenny for everything and if I could just ask one more favour........Please talk Jurgen Klopp into staying! A 50% Klopp is better than a 100% anyone else! Tall shout I know! Love you Kenny.x
Yeah Deffo! I remember them like yesterday. I remember watching Chelsea V Liverpool live on ITV and Kenny getting the winner in a 0-1 win, I was 10 years old!......such great memories.
Kenny Dalglish is simply one of the greatest football players/ managers this country has produced. I grew up watching him as a Liverpool player and then saw him become the manager. My heart broke when he felt he had to leave due to the trauma of the Hillsborough disaster, but he did what was right for him and his family. He epitomises everything that is great about the 'beautiful game'. He is a true gentleman who's passion comes across in every interview he gives 😊
King Kenny every British football fan has a soft spot for him. I'm a Leeds fan but have always taken an interest in Blackburn purely down to them winning the premier League almost 30 years ago. Good to see him looking well etc.
This man...humble, funny, humane, intelligent, big hearted, compassionate, empathetic and the greatest number 7 that ever kicked a football. What a joy to listen to Kenny talk.
Best no 7 at Liverpool aye but Kenny 2nd best after Jimmy jinky Johnstone of Celtic he was best ever to wear the no 7 at Celtic ever and Kenny would tell you such > Kenny wore no 10 at Celtic and best ever that no 10 :)
Still the best. I grew up watching Kenny and not only is he Liverpool's greatest ever player, he needs to be always talked about as among the best the game has known. The King!
Absolute Liverpool traffic despite being born in Australia. I love the history, the integrity, the humility and the humanity of all the big characters in Liverpools history. Kenny warms my heart and makes me proud to be a Mersey Red. YNWA
As down to earth and Humble as ever. As a 60 year old life long Liverpool supporter who went home and away virtually every week and sat just behind the dugout in the paddock throughout the entirety of his tenure as Manager in the 80s it feels like we went on the same journey through the good and the bad (but mostly fantastic) thanks for all the great memories sir Kenny and heres to many more to come YNWA
My all time hero. I’ve followed his career since first watching him at Hampden Park in the 80’s. The things Sir Kenny has done in and around football is extraordinary. He is more than a player, manager. Wonderful human being and will always be my hero. Thanks for everything Kenny.
Honestly that was a treat! Rarely do we ever get to see Kenny in any sort of long form interview or in the spotlight. A champion that always showed up on and off the pitch, often, in the face of unimaginable suffering and struggles. Genuinely a person that has changed the world for the better and made the world a little better for so many people. To be a top professional you need to be ruthless and selfish in a way which is amazing considering he's completely selfless, humble and always puts other people first. The number on the back of my children's Liverpool shirts, until they're old enough to decide for themselves, is the number 7 for a reason. King Kenny!
First time ive watched this Pod, solely because of Kenny. What a player but more importantly what a man. His achievements off the pitch surpass what he did on it for the families in 89 til this day. And hes still got the best one liners, put you both in your place haha. great watch.
Sir Kenny Dalgliesh, not only a great player, great manager, great human being but a great raconteur and comedian/. This was the most delightful hour plus of podcast listening to a real football brain, one who speaks his mind with honesty, humour and forever humble. Many thanks for William Hill producing this Podcast. Maxie Smith Carlisle.
Brilliant episode, a real treat. Great listening to Kenny who will always be the most iconic figure to be associated with LFC for what he did as a player, manager and a person for the city of Liverpool after the Hillsborough tragedy.
What a player King Kenny was, what a humble Man he has always been, the knighthood was long overdue but he deservedly got it in the end, my all time hero
When King Kenny joined Liverpool in 1977 I was only six years old, I’m now almost 53 and Kenny is still my idol. What a player, manager, and human 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Brilliance personified. On and off the field, always level-headed. What he and his family have done for the football club and community around it deserves so much credit. King Kenny!
in a football world of egos, Kenny Dalglish is the most humble compassionate, down to earth man. Uncomfortable with praise, never taking credit and always giving that credit to other people, to staff, to fans, to managers, to clubs. I don't think I've ever seen such a humble guy in football. I'm 48 and grew up idolising Kenny and Rushie (and those teams), my Dad (RIP) loved him and even had the Puma Dalglish boots when he played. A football and Liverpool legend but more important an incredible human being.
I have been supporting Liverpool since I was 8 ... after the 1971 FA Cup final against Arsenal when we lost 2-1. My favourite Liverpool player is anyone who dons the Liverpool shirt ... but Sir Kenny stands out ... Thanks for the incredible memories ... A LEGEND ... KENNY IS LIVERPOOL!!! Greetings from Malta!!!
I've been watching and supporting Liverpool home and away since 1974, had some lows but incredible highs too. But one memory that sticks out is you being interviewed in a post match dressing room, and the interviewer asking a long and rambling question about whether or not your players had trouble understanding your accent. And your priceless reply, with deadpan face, was 'Pardon?' I still smile all these years later
Brilliant interview, I would be honoured to have a signed shirt from my football hero Kenny. 🙏 👍 I had the pleasure of playing for Liverpool Boys in 1980's and semi finals were at Anfield, Kenny and Joe Fagan gave out the penants at Anfield to all the teams. I cried because Joe Fagan gave me mine and I was so upset not to meet Kenny and get it off him. I laid that penant at the kop after Hillsborough. Thankyou Kenny for all you have done for LFC and our fans and for all the joy you brought to football fans around the world. YNWA 👍
I mean tim just sits like a cabbage and lets them ramble, so boring when he's on, I get what you mean with Sam, like ya mean, but I get why he does it to keep it moving
Thanks for the the amazing memories Kenny with me and my late father stood in the Kop watching you play for and manage our great club. You are an absolute legend Sir. YNWA
Transcends football and is a very special human being. Connects with everyone, cares about every community he has been part of. And waaaayyyyy too humble. Did his talking on the pitch, make no mistake! LEGEND
What an absolute legend, watched him as I grew up a life long Liverpool fan. He is the type of person I could sit and listen to for hours… Was ball boy at Portsmouth a very long time ago when Liverpool played them in a friendly, missed out on his autograph then… Thank for a great interview with Sir King Kenny.
Kenny has such a great sense of humour, but also an incredible football brain. Always diflecting the credit onto others. Proud of him as a Scotsman and a Red.
absolutely loved this! Kenny has been a lifelong hero of mine as an LFC fan of 50 + years and i was lucky enough to see him play in the early 80s. a legend of the game. Long Love The King!
Sir Kenny is so laid back. Im sitting near dug out at legends game hoping to meet Sir Kenny. I travel all the way from Hull. This is my half century supporting the reds. Kenny is my favourite all time Liverpool player and I think I deserve his signed shirt. I also remember watching him in Scully in 1984. He is a good actor too. My grans ancestors come from Aberdeenshire. She was called Queenie. My Uncle Eric is 87 and supported Liverpool for 80 years. Nicknamed Eric from Berwick, as he was last person to bring Mallard train to railway museum. ❤❤❤
Always great to see King Kenny. My mum was at the Marina Dalglish Centre many years ago and she saw him walking the opposite direction down one of the corridors. She smiled and he smiled back at her. She was made up and still talks about it today. 😊
Sir Kenny is one of my all time hero's and the reason I support Liverpool, watching him play when I was growing up was a privilege. To me he is Mr Liverpool and there will never be anyone like him again YNWA
The only match I've ever been to with my brother, father and grandfather was Kenny's last game for Scotland. Few people transcend the game on the pitch and even fewer off pitch. Kenny is simply an outstanding person. He was my hero from when I was a wee boy and he remains a hero even now.
Been a supporter of LFC since 1966. Love the King. Just finished watching this at 05:59 in Spain. Don’t get to Anfield much now but really loved being there during the ‘77/‘78/‘79 seasons to watch the greatest we ever had! YNWA King Kenny!
My Grandma used to know Jack Walker. She used to live just down the road from him as kids! I always followed Blackburn just because of my Grandma and my Dad who was a Blackburn supporter as well, even though I'm a Liverpool fan (62 years old one!!).
One of the rare breed of footballers who is respected by all who watch the game. A man of few words and a wickedly dry sense of humour. First to praise his family and teammates for any success in his life and first to shoulder the burden of failure and tragedies of life. A truley world class player and even better as person.
Tippy Tappy Week to be interviewing King Kenny coming off the back of the Carabau Cup. I only wish it had been filmed today after our victorious teens dispatched Southampton. What a time to be a Liverpool fan.
Fantastic interview with a true Liverpool FC legend in Sir Kenny Dalglish. A true icon and heroe of my youth, I have to say. If I had a chance to talk to the great man, I would simply say, "Thank You, for your commitment to Liverpool FC and the people of the city" A selfless humble human being. Best wishes. Matt Mason. YNWA.
I was at Anfield in May 1995 supporting my team, Liverpool. Blackburn managed by Kenny were within touching distance of the Prem Title. Man Utd were second and needed a win in their game to overtake Blackburn. Some were saying that Liverpool would throw the game in order to give Kenny's Blackburn the title and deny Man Utd. Whoever said that didn't know Liverpool. We won the game and Man Utd could only draw, so the title was Blackburn's. The whole stadium stayed to applaud Kenny and Blackburn, and we were all delighted. I was lucky enough to watch Kenny at Liverpool from 1978 until he bowed out as a player. Best player I have ever seen.
would love to win that shirt for my Dad, always went out his way to take me to watch football when I was younger and Kenny is his absolute favourite player ever. He’ll love this 🥹
How lucky are we to live in an age where we can hear the stories these experiences at a touch of a button. Back in the days it would be a 5 minute exclusive interview after the news at ten. And we would have to wait 30 minutes until the news finished this is pure gold
What was wonderful; seeing Tim, as a student and hanging on to every word of Sir Kenny's, with such reverence and love. And Natalie was in football heaven. She just was full of joy and admiration. And Sir Kenny, what can be said really, what a player and what a man.
First I saw of this podcast but what an excellent interview. Kenny total legend, has had a massive impact on the game. Not just his Liverpool playing days. Don't know anyone who has a bad word against this man, well done Natalie and Tim as well.
I'm from Sydney, Australia, & been a liverpool fan all my life, & king kenny is the greatest of them all,, a truly world class player in his day,,& a true world class human being, for what he has done of the pitch,,dalglish is an absolute role model, thankyou king 😊😊John Martin Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Best interview yet on your pod. King Kenny is a legend. Love watching and reading the backstory of his time at Celtic and with Jock Stein. Always a Glaswegian. His love for Liverpool is clear. Great listen
I enjoyed this podcast; it was a treat to hear Kenny Dalglish giving his opinion on current happenings, as he has an extraordinary wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on.
Great interview with King Kenny. He is the reason I have been a Liverpool fan for 47 years. True football legend and a gentleman of note. It was not easy as a South African back in the 70's to follow English football. I need that Liverpool shirt, please 🙏

When football was football, wish I saw more , caught the end of his career as a player and loved him as our manager
Why not support your local team???/
@@matthewdoyle3877I do support a very small local team. But I've always had a great deal of respect for the city and people of Liverpool.

Do u remember any of Kenny’s playing days. Perhaps his last year when he was a player manager in 85/86 season
I'm the same age, born same year.
I remember some of Kenny Games, not all of them, you tube helps.
Deffo remember him as our manager tho.

Brilliant king Kenny. Love him. He’s why I support Liverpool.

King Kenny both on and off the pitch. Pure quality.
Great interview with King Kenny. He is the reason I have been a Liverpool fan for 47 years. True football legend and a gentleman of note. It was not easy as a South African back in the 70's to follow English football. I need that Liverpool shirt, please 🙏
King Kenny , my favourite Liverpool player of all time , my boyhood hero YNWA , thank you for everything Kenny 🔴
