Hi there. Been listening to Henry for over 30yrs now. He is such a “big brother” to so many of us misfit 70’s kids who kinda didn’t have the best of times growing up. Lyrically , poetically musically. A true inspiration and like I said a big brother. If you understand what I’m saying then you probably had the same obstacles roughly and HR helped yah through. I’m just a huge fan of HR and have many words of praise. Ok there. I feel better. Ok continue doing stuff whatever it was
I just wanna take a moment to express my utter admiration for Henry Rollins. A human admiration far from idolization. I treasure his writing, interviews and spoken word (though I never got into Rollins Band). This talk also introduced me to Mr. Ockenfels' work. Thank you very much. Long live the true Academia, the one in touch with the human experience and anguishes and not the one confined to its f'in cocktails.
It's so sad that this has only 22 likes (at least no dislikes), three comments and less than 500 views (may 4th 2021). People could learn so much from this. But they rather watch some Tiktok* compilations. *to the people reading this after 2026 Tik Tok was quite a popular thing in the early 2020s.
One more comment here and almost 200 more views! I am on a Rollins binge. I really admire this guy, especially his work ethic and how he stay true to his vision and won't be derailed. I would like to be more like him in those ways.
I have always admired Henry's work ethic. Actually, wishing I was as focused as him. I don't always agree with him, especially his continual denouncement of his own father. I always wished he would find a place to connect with his father, but that's only because I was fortunate to come to understand where I was different from my own father. Henry has great stories to tell. He's a little too suspicious of people of faith, but that, again, is his deal.
It’s amazing how no matter how financially deficient the people in photographs may seem they still appear to have more legitimate culture than us in the U.S..
if you have a spare moment, look up photographer Gregory Crewdson sometime. His work is a powerful look at the US and the despair that is part of culture.
Such a great talk, but holy shit man.. please cool it in the future with the incessant "yeah, yeah, yes, yup, ah yeah" & then repeating every last word at the end of every sentence. Like fucking A man.. ("fuckin a, yeah, yup"). Henry knows your listening. We know your listening. No need to affirm it every second of the conversation.
There's no forgiving Rollins for the part he played in getting those three child killers out of prison. I used to like him a lot! Now... I Don't. I'd have a good 'audience question' for Henry... "Henry.. what do you think about the 'innocence' of those three NOW... seeing how Damien Echols went "full tilt satanic" soon after having gotten out of prison?"
"Water is more than your thirst. It's education, it's life, it's literacy". What a beautiful thought. I dread this world running out.
Came for Rollins, stayed for the entire thing. This has given me the creative fuel and reinforcement I needed to start the morning.
Henry Rollins always gets me with his genuine love for people. Beautiful pictures and wonderful stories. Love it. Thanks for putting this up

Henry's David Lee Roth story is hysterical.

Such a good combo, FWO3 has always been super amazing with his vision, and I'm glad I get to see some of Henry's photos and stories.
This is the best thing on tv. U know what I mean . The best. I'm here to learn!!!!!!
That was a great talk, Henry you need a RUclips pod cast just talking or doing interviews.
He has the 'Henry & Heidi' podcast buddy. Worth checking out! Was one of my lockdown go tos. Should just be able to search it on RUclips.
Henry Rollins is the most hardcore humanitarian. Oh and I think he had a couple of bands back in the day.
Henry always has something interesting to say.
The photo with laughing Mali kids brought a tear to my eye. Thanks.

Such an interesting mutual interview of 2 very different people. Love the quote at 1:28:19
Healing tea for mr. Rollins' torn throat ;
Cinnamon, ginger, peppermint, spruce, cloves.
Use it many weeks.
These kids aren’t on Instagram lol …Rollins delivering another truth bomb about true humanity
