That could have been 4 hours long and I'd still have sat through it with glee. I like how Frank asked three quarters of five questions, and the rest was Henry going off on tangents...
Henry's the man Met him once for 30 seconds was like 1998 or maybe 1999 I was in London walking down charing Cross road. Was on the way to the Astoria to see SLAYER , SEPULTURA & SYSTEM OF A DOWN. See henry coming out of a book shop he was in London doing an early spoken word tour. I have SLAYER shirt on get a picture with him He asks why I'm in London SLAYERRRRRRRRRRR I said to him you should come He looked at me totally dead pan for 10 seconds Then burst onto laughter Yeah right ohhhhhh.... I'm going back to my hotel to read & have an early night Hahahahhahahah That's my henry rollins story
Awesome. Have seen any number of Henry’s spoken word performances over the years and he’s always incredible to listen to with so many great anecdotes to tell. Saw him a few times fronting Henry Rollins Band in the nineties and they were always really intense performances. Definitely an absolute legend!
Ive had the pleasure of seeing Henry live and Frank live several times. With both giving me some enjoyable memorable nights. It is nice to see them both together. Whilst a good way to spend an hour😁 😁
A great piece of entertainment!!! This interview belongs to the category "Anything better? Don't think so..." 😉 Thanks a lot for this epic interview! 😊👍🏻
Loved that as didnt see it on the day (hope the band discussion and the lost Evenings one were recorded) but hoping that Edinburgh will have proper roons for the panels.
I always said to my ma back in the day if Henry Rollins gets old is the day I finally grow up lol, and that was way back in the 90s. I'd like to think I grew up from that period of time in my life. A world without Henry Rollins I never want to know, can we freeze him or something if it ever comes down to it?👍 Great video I enjoyed it through, and through.
Never seen a Black Flag show but i bought a Rollins Band CD when i was a kid, cut to some years later I'm well versed in punk rock and underground metal scenes, then I go see a Fran Turner show only to end up about 6 feet from him screaming and beating the hell out of his acoustic alone on stage circa 2008. Man I miss those days! Henry is such a treasure man, thanks for this conversation
Frank didn’t get a word in edge wise but he didn’t have to. Hank ruled that stage and provided excellent entertainment! Thank you. You won’t find a more devoted or disciplined man than Rollins. Always consistent.
Getting old, you better get a sense of humor. I like that! I'm 52 and I'm trying to put humor into songs I sing and slogans I share. Because I need humor so bad. Right on.
Henry is simply amazing on so many levels. As I, a former punk (many years ago) the scene was riddled with drugs and alcohol. The fact that he stayed completely away is striking. A unicorn for certain.
Thank you guy.just yesterday got face to face with a classmate that when we finish in that school started taking the steps to be a cop . Me instead start studying to coock.i Alwais was the school punk ,the one in trouble ,the clown ,the troubled because ADHD.After 20 years without seen eachother i go to say hi! How are you? The hate in hes eyes scared me a bit but It was much more sadness.Excuse my english.im native Basque. Its hard for me to Talk even spanish
38:40 prepare 40:30 I so care what you think about me. I want you to like me. I want your attention, your approval. 41:05 he must really wanted to be there 43:40 a license plate
I grew up in the VA/DC punk/hardcore scene a few years after Henry and racism at shows was a big problem. Got plenty of scars on my knuckles from fighting those jaggoffs he spoke about. The scene itself was actually incredibly inclusive and had every stripe of person in it. It was an amazing melting pot of people but there were still a lot of racist assholes around causing problems.
As usual Henry's full of it with his political correctness. Yes, 80s hardcore shows were often violent. Yes, Nazi skins were a visible presence at SOME shows (especially in California where large cliques existed). But Nazi lunkheads were always a minority at any show I ever went to. All in all the punk and hardcore scene of the 80s was one of the most inclusive scenes of that era with a large contingent of Jewish kids, gays, "people of color", and many all female and female fronted bands. The main drag about hardcore was the slam pit which drove young women away from the scene. Been to many early BF shows and NEVER ONCE saw them call out or discourage violence on the dance floor, in fact, it was to some level encouraged and expected.
Is that Henry being a queen?! He sounds boring and taking the whole interview to himself. Shity ask questions Henry it goes both ways. Greg Ginn was the best thing that happened to you.
Lol, he was literally being interviewed. No, an interview doesn't go both ways. Questions are asked and answered, not a conversation for the most part.
Punk died with GG ;) haha yeah the 80s shows were crazy, Big ass skinheads busting heads, Bouncers busting heads and everyone pissed off. Fun times, by the mid 1990s with Grunge punk started to become more of a hippy fest. Fantastic interview, Thank you.
If the effort people have put into curing cancer hadn't been suppressed by pharmaceutical companies and government agencies, the world would be a better place as well. But also..I love this matchup here ..
Rollins naturally still wraps the mic cord around his fist, even for interviews.
That could have been 4 hours long and I'd still have sat through it with glee. I like how Frank asked three quarters of five questions, and the rest was Henry going off on tangents...
He's weird
Brilliant, just when I need another hit of Rollins I find this vid on a sleep-deprived morning. Cheers, Frank!
This was awesome! I wish there was more Henry in the world. A podcast would be great. Frank, you rule too!
When Henry is speaking I've got the time to listen. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for sharing this video Frank.

Thank you for putting this out... It made me smile this morning.
What a fantastic interview/chat between these two fabulous musicians!
Happy you posted this, couldn't make it into the panel, the rest were great.

Thanks a lot for this epic interview! 😊👍🏻
Glad I got to see Black Flag back in the day I'm Henry's age
I got to see them too in1984. And I saw Flipper 4 times. Too much fun!
East Side Club, Philly - mentioned in Henry's book "Get In The Van"
What a wonderful interview many thanks to both of you 👍
This wasn't long enough. I need more.
Loved that as didnt see it on the day (hope the band discussion and the lost Evenings one were recorded) but hoping that Edinburgh will have proper roons for the panels.
Thanks. I needed this today.
Two of my fav punk rockers of all time !

That was a great interview, thank you.
Fascinating. I remember going to an Angelic Upstarts gig that got cut short by the NF. Punk gigs could be a dangerous place.
Very informative Henry. Thank you.
Thoroughly loved that chat!
1 of 1. A living legend. A hero for all mankind.
Two epic dudes one convo!
Frank didn’t get a word in edge wise but he didn’t have to.
Hank ruled that stage and provided excellent entertainment!
Thank you.
You won’t find a more devoted or disciplined man than Rollins. Always consistent.
Great! Two sweet guys that get it! Much Love from Germany
My First Henry Rollins spoken word show Calgary Alberta 1995, dead of winter -30. ..almost 30yrs of being a fan girl❤

Hey Henry, didn’t know you moved here but welcome to Nashville!
Met him in 1998. Extremely cool guy
Finally someone that stops Frank from talking too much! ;)
Frank and Hank! I could listen to him talk for a week straight. Bummed he's done acting, he was great on Con-Man!
Omg the man is still muscular 😮
And short.
@ I’m about 6 foot & he didn’t seem that short whenever I met him. Maybe 5’9” or a lil more
It's good he doesn't have nostalgia for those days... you definitely have to find joy in what exists now.... without your morality changing.
Dion Lunadon (born 4 March 1976) is a New Zealand born musician. He is known for being the guitarist and singer of The D4
Hell yeah, Frank, nice job!
It’s rough watching these icons get old
I agree. He looks starkly older than in previous appearances. However he looks very good for his age in my opinion.
I met him in person in 2022- he’s still in great shape. Was surprised he still has that muscle density at his age.
Legend.
Awesome
Who'd have thought, that after all, something as simple as rock n roll would save us all.
It won't. We're all gonna die.
the mics are about to feed back the entire time 😝 come on soundguy eq the room!
If you close your eyes Henry sounds like an interesting version of Grandpa Simpson
luv hank!
Most people go into law enforcement for a power trip. He’s so right about the cops and their shady shit
Thank you guy.just yesterday got face to face with a classmate that when we finish in that school started taking the steps to be a cop . Damaged was recorded the month I was born!!
Is no one gonna mention the size of Henry's biceps?
You just did.
at his age it looks like some TRT use plus ?
an Eton boy and a punk from DC - smashing!
FRANK AND HENRY?!?!?!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
He shoulda been in more movies
Protect him.
38:40 prepare
40:30 I so care what you think about me. I want you to like me. I want your attention, your approval.
41:05 he must really wanted to be there
43:40 a license plate
Never listened to FRANK TURNER,but i know he recorded about 20 albums. Any recomendation? I don't know where to start
I love ‘Positive Songs For Negative People’ a lot.
Hes great
0:31
Gets his mic cord ready for battle!😂 wonder if he's conscious of that?
I never would picture Rollins eating ice cream for dinner
Hold up Henry doesn't have a black shirt on
Jarring visual
Henry without black shirt ????!!!!! He looks great btw. Still razor sharp.
Well now i know what im doing later.
So strange seeing Henry in a red t shirt! 🤣

Henry isnt a punk...Henry is just Henry. And thats exactly enough.
He's a Democrat.
i need henrys boots
I was looking for same one too. I guess it's Danner Acadia
Who’s Frank Turner?
From what I have gleaned from this interview, he is a guy who says 'sure' a lot, apparently.
I saw EXPLOITED this summer. You can clearly see that Wattie is too old for that type of performance. I think he is older then Henry
USA "Punk Rock" Everywhere else "Punk"
Who could have predicted Henry and David Lee Roth would wind up looking so alike?
Black flag were a load of old pump! But hes a joy division fan so hes not all bad?
Henry is great but Frank makes truly shitty music

Sour nobody detected😂
Lol, he was literally being interviewed. No, an interview doesn't go both ways. Questions are asked and answered, not a conversation for the most part.
Are you still holding a grudge from 1984?
Your right. I just thought he could have engaged Frank a bit in conversation that’s all.
Don't be such a prick.

Flipper fkn RULES!
😈🔱👿.. Henry saying he's not a tough guy and me looking at his arm muscles I don't think I want Grandpa to bust me in the mouth
