What's your projection on how long this pond will last given that it's being built from wood which will be exposed to outdoor elements such as water and termites? Thank you. Cool build!!!

    • @Arks123

Jack Nguyen I’m moving house next March so it will last until then most likely, if treated annually and vented underneath then it could last anywhere between 10 & 30+ years I’d estimate but I’m a management consultant not a carpenter so I’d do some research, also I built this to house 4 goldfish that were basically being kept in a shoe box, if you want a serious fish pond that will last for years then you’ll want to look at circulation, drainage and filtration, that can all be built in during the construction, I'm currently filtering the pond with a 60l per minute air pump and a big sponge, although, I’m about to build a box filter as I have some wood and some spare time and I can practice on this pond ready for the next which I’ll probably build from stone, hope this helps 👍

@@Arks123 lol! 😂 .. just a simple tank, no biggie hehe...It turned out really nice. I need one in my backyard too! I like your 'just doing it' attitude. I'm just knocking out my todo list lately myself.
I set up a 55g 3 days ago and moved some rescued silver dollar fish into it. Its looking good. They are definitely happier! But there are only 3 and they are skittish so im getting 6 more. I just want to quarantine the add'l fish 30 days, so i need to set up my other 55 just for quarantine fish. I do like the bigger tanks. I spent an hour just watching them check out the new tank and swim and swim. They had been in a small tank way to small for them. I liked how you insulated the pond.
