Having the same problem with my sweeper pond, do you have any drawings on the bottom drain and returns set up??? Really wat to change it over, vortex system just not good enough
Pond looks great, and strong. Is it possible to get the bulbs out of the UV with it located in that position? Where does the Nexus drain to when it is cleaned?
That's brilliant that a taking in the advice from you .I'm gonna do a new pond this yr and thinking of sleeper a liner with bottom drain approx 12ftx9ftx4f, what would you recommend for the base eg 6in concrete or just set drain in some to stop movement and put sand whacked sand and a underlay ??
So I am just about to install a kockney koi skimmer box on my pond just wondering how best to install it. The skimmer box is around 1 inch above the main water level on my pond. well I hope it is the pond seems to be level know. So what advise would you give about fitting a skimmer ? the skimmer seems to be a 1/4 above what will be the water level. I in vision the water level of the pond will be about 1 inch below the top of the sleepers. Above that will be a capping piece of wood which is about 50mm in thickness.
Hello! Ive been enjoying the videos and the style of ponds :) question: is that enough room for the koi to really a good stretch of swimming?? I keep feeling like its just a very boxed in environment. I’m just curious and would like some perspective, thanks!
I would love to do this with my pond, but I am absolutely useless with plumbing etc. I'm having the same problems as this, I'm running a pump fed pressure filter but I have a nexus 320 being delivered Friday. But have to run it pump fed for now until I get some more know how
How's the base constructed for this pond? Is it a solid concrete base with the sleepers stacked, or is it just concrete footings with the liner and underlay sitting directly in the earth? I can't seem to find any glassers down south that specialise in ponds, so I'm going down the liner route for my raised build. Any advice?
If you can buy a box welded liner if it’s going to be square. Will still look the biz and without the horrible corner folds. Someone on eBay down your way makes them to any size to order.👍
I live just outside Portsmouth which you can’t get much further south and I have just had my pond fibreglassed and couldn’t be happier with the results. Gee-Grp fibreglassing give them a bell.
@@solardiymadesimple.3779 yeah box weld is what I'm thinking. However, I did my quarantine tank with 3mm PVC liner sheet, got the folds nicely in the corners than then just stuck some neat strips over each corner with the offcuts and PU18 sealant. It's more the structure I'm concerned about, as I'm unsure if I need a completely concrete base, or if I'd get away with just a 2ft concrete footing for the block work.
need help have pond one air pump fitting 18mm I need to adapt to 8mm air pipe any ideas? The pump came with a rubber tube that is about 18mm but can not seem to find a fitting for my large air stone that has a 8mm pipe.8
Only problem I see is the dreaded blanket weed getting into all that lovely k1 micro. Don't get me wrong great filters but I'd put a sieve or drum in front of them !
Paul is having blanket seed problems now, having a nightmare. He’s on a drum. We have a lot of clients with BW right now and nothing has blocked. It’s an expected problem, just treat when you see it starting.
@@TimWaddington thanks for the reply it's been I nightmare this year it took us 4 treatments of cloverleaf at a very slight overdose to kill it off luckily we started treatment when it was only 3 to 4 inches long but it was also on the bottom of are pond. The Draco drum took it all out no fuss but you still need to vacuum the bottom now and then 👍
i need help I have so many folds in the liner when trying to put the liner in it does not help the liner has 2 seems in it making an issue for my pipe connectors any advise ? so many folds any advise it feels like its almost impossible. if you need to see the space check my channel out for videos.
fair play to you for steering him in the right direction. you also made a customer for life, win win
Great job all involved.
Nice pond Tim, great advice, I bet he is well pleased. Lovely fish again.
👏👏👏don’t know what i would have done without your knowledge fair play mate

Good on ya Tim, gorgeous Koi in there & lovely pond. Fair play on the owner.
Hi Tim, Nice Pond like the sleeper Builds look Clean and Fresh, Koi are amazing but expect nothing less :)
Pond looks great, and strong. Is it possible to get the bulbs out of the UV with it located in that position? Where does the Nexus drain to when it is cleaned?
Fantastic video and wonderful pond 👍
Phuck my ol'boots Tim, what lovely fish!
How was that pond lined (f/glass/liner)? Be great to hear the journey from. The punters!
Really cool pond!
Probably the perfect pond for my garden. I’ll be asking you to bring some fish down to fill it that’s for sure! Now how to start?
Line marker and a shovel.
Very nice
I'd love a pond but it looks like a lot of hard work!

You should case the drain in concrete. Won’t move then 👍
My pool is similar need a better skimmer set up what skimmer is that cheers
Looks great, how did he fit the bottom drain. Does it run under the liner?
must admit, I like it

Might be a stupid question but could you run the nexus off a 2 inch inlet? Gravity fed from a retrofit bottom drain.
Pond looks quality!! 👏🏼
Did he take Paul’s advice 😉

Would also like to know this as redoing mine soon to put a bottom drain in.

Is it really essential to have such clear water as carp never live in clear water?
It’s not essential but Koi are not like normal carp, they are man made.

how much would all of this cost to build?
Are tempest being sold in the U.S. yet?
Yes, they are 👍🏻
That outer chamber looks weak not enough media??
It’s the 50L that comes with the 220.
'small pressurised thingys that they do'...condescension...moi....lol
Great pond, do you know the dimensions?
too big

This is a timber tub not a pond?
