This ship only needs guns to make it a a nimble fighter. What do you consider practical and I’ll see what I can make from that.

Put the grav drive behind the reactor and add a 2nd engine where the grav drive was and the aft double ball fuel tank. It will be way faster.
Faster but bigger. This is the smallest ship not the fastest ship.
Very interesting. I need to do something like this. Might do this with the Mantis ship. Could get away with lighter shields and weapons if the pirates aren't going going to attack you.
Yeah you can fly fast enough that no ships are really going to be able to hit you.

This is not the smallest ship possible. The smallest ship possible is
The Armstrong 10 cockpit, followed by a companion way, underneath the companionway is the flipped 100dp slim docker, directly behind that is the ship bed 200 landing bay, flipped. Above the companionway is the 330t stellarator reactor. Directly behind the reactor is the Helios 100 grave drive. On both sides of the reactor are the 100g he3 tanks. On both sides of the Grave Drive are the white dwarf 1000 engines. Attached to the companionway on either side is the Hope 6 landing gear - Port aft. The ship has no Shields and no weapons.
Not counting the cockpit the fuel tanks, the engines, and the landing gear it is 2 long, two high, and 1 wide. It is a value of under 5,000.
If you remove one engine and one tank it gets even smaller, but it's not symmetrical. This is the absolute smallest and cheapest you can build any ship.

Not the smallest ship tbh. you can build one thats 14/9m and has more cargoand longer jump range but defo an intresting way to build a small ship
