Very nice ...grillgun all the way ... Much better sear on those steaks
Thanks for watching! The GrillGun is the Bomb! only $80 on the Kickstarter for a limited time!www.kickstarter.com/projects/gitrdone/the-grillgunthe-ultimate-grill-torch?ref=ksr_email_creator_launch
Thanks for doing the video real time
your welcome!
Wouldn't mind seeing you cut into the steaks, so we can compare how it cooks the meat after sous vide. Don't want to overcook it during the sear.
it had very little effect on the internal doneness..
Thanks for the video but i was hoping to know which one taste the best as im looking to get one now.
the torch has no bearing on the taste.. just the time it takes to get a great crust...
After searing you should have cut each steak to show width of the grey band in steak
there was none, and that was not the test...
@@FireWaterCooking the test was to compare the different searing methods...how long it takes to build that crust affects the temperature of the meat inside. One reason I switched from a Searzall to a Sou VGun...I found a mrasurableb difference .. sounds like you did nor.
@@jstanovic how you gonna tell this man what his own damn video was about?
@@LiamATL007 I have both items. The Sous Vide gun is much hoter and is capable of a great sear with a narrow band of "gray"..the goal of sous vide..leaving the rest of the meat at the desired temperature and no review, in my opinion, would be complete without that discussion.
Hello that Grillgun is pretty intense lol. What kind of torch tip did you have on the TS8000? Is that the stock tip or the one from the Sansaire sear kit torch for the wider flame? Also, do you have a demo vid of the new Grillgun sous vide gun? Thanks!
I used the stock tip and yes I have videos of the Su-Vgun also
Nice vid. I am a backer for both the GrillGun and the SVGun thanks to you. I get better and faster results from my Searzall, maybe turn it up? Thanks again for the post.
the searzall is just not good for searing meat..
@@FireWaterCooking Yeah, something was wrong with your Searzall. I bought the Su-V Gun and I suspect it will be faster, but something was strangely anemic about your Searzall demo. I have MUCH better results (in terms of speed and hardness of the sear) compared to your demo using mine. Yours is leaking fire through the screen the entire time. Mine doesn't do that although it flares up pretty hard once you get it close to the meat.
Oh!! Darren the GRILL GUN all the way. Thats awesome.
Thanks, going to scrap my Searzall for the Grillgun. SOLD me.

@@FireWaterCooking DONE and my gun is on the way to my FFL ❤
suggestion you need to adjust the flame on the searzall to make it a hotter bluer flame
it does not get much hotter no matter the small adjustment.. it maxes out at way under 13,000 BTU's as it disperses the flame too much in my opinion.. it is great for melting cheese, but no matter what it stinks at searing compared to the other 2 methods.. that is why Guga either uses his own mini flame thrower, or has to use 2 or 3 searzall's at once..
All look nice - i really like the toy though! Flamethrower :)
Thanks for watching!
In order of demonstration:
- A novelty lighter that draws in a crowd, could be a good idea when you don't have any clean pans for an emergency snack
- Dads welding torch repurposed as a step-up from anything as powerful as a common electric oven/stove
- What appears to be some form of banned home-defense tool, masquerading as the ideal solution to todays chef in a hurry™
Thanks for the comment @lee_-_! your thoughts are appreciated...
Great video!
Looks like the ts8000 is the best combination of fuel economy, targeted heat for searing the fat more, and more intense heat for the searzall.
Strange how the searzall is so popular, you don’t really want your heat dispersed that much if the intensity is so low.
Thanks for replying to comments too

Why didnt you talk about taste and which one leaves more of a propane flavor in the meat?
@@leeroyhuawei51 because none of them left a propane tase..
That grillgun is insanity lmao
I just got one back AND the Su-Vgun to do a comparison
How do they compare in terms of residual taste from the propane?
none had any propane taste
What did you spray them with?
Duck Fat Spray - amzn.to/3kFcrPk
@@FireWaterCooking Too many people not paying attention... you clearly said "Duck Fat" in the vid.
Why not show each complete set up? All you show are the tips/ends of the “burner”. What does the entire rig look like? What type of propane tank? 1 lb? 20 lb?
they were both on a 1lb propane tank.. the Searzall is attached to the TS8000.. the only difference is the "burner" as you say.
You really just want to stay in ONE SPOT until it's seared and THEN move the flame. Otherwise you are just further cooking your steak as well as taking too long for your sear.
Thanks for the tip!
Wow, that Grillgun will NEVER be legal in Canada.
actually, i think many people have ordered them from Canada
Why did you only spray the ones for the grill gun?
tam Burene I sprayed them all...
@@FireWaterCooking what did you spay on them?
@@nope7405 duck fat
@@nope7405 He sprayed on them exactly what he SAID right during the video. Pay attention, people!
Thats Awesome. I noticed, no grill marks🤔 LoL thanks for sharing
no grill marks for sure...
@@FireWaterCooking That's good....grill marks actually BLOCK searing and just CHAR.
Spray duck fat? What sorcery is this? Where do you get something like that?
you can find it at a lot of stores but also Amazon amzn.to/32q5hHE
The GrillGun technique is #1.
Thanks for the comment Ben There! your thoughts are appreciated...
I bought a propane blaster from HF today. I tried the chimney starter and the cast iron and nothing really worked. You just have to make sure your sear technique doesn't cook the interior of your meat. 100,000 BTUs is hard to beat.
@@benthere8051 Actually, it's easy to beat... didn't you hear him mention the grill gun is 4x that? Pay closer attention, sport.
@@highplainsdrafter595 It beats the heck out of what I was using, especially for the price. I'm happy you had the $140 to spend. My Harbor Freight torch cost me $25.
Tim Taylor would approve lol. With my wonderful California public school education I attempted to calculate the math. So the gun's like 30x more BTU that's pretty damn impressive. I'd imagine it would plow thru canisters like nobodies business. But with it only taking a few seconds a side to sear a steak, yeah I need one. I'm looking at the info on the Kickstarter page and it doesn't say anything about the BTU on the Sous Vide model. Would you happen to know? It's smaller so I'm guessing it's only maybe like half as powerful. LOL only half of 400k. Also the big one it says 60 seconds to light charcoal, would that eat up an entire small canister? I'm sure there's some way to figure out how long you can get, but I could barely figure out the 400,000/13,000 to see how much more juice you get.
I want both! Before this I had to sear my meat with a TS8000, which would take MINUTES! How did I function?
#1stworldproblems
very close to the same btu's, the flame is just more concentrated
Your searzall temp is off. It should be burning blue and not near as much outer flame.
any adjustment to the searzall would make little difference.. it has nowhere near the BTU's as the GrillGun or SU-VGun... sorry
@@FireWaterCooking I can see that. I just asked on one of your videos, could the SV gun be used inside. I run several virtual restaurants and provide food for some bars on the weekend that don't have hoods. The searzall has worked wonders with one yakitori concept at one bar as the food is cooked in a cvap or sous machine then needs coloring.
HAHAHAHAHAH
Awesome! All comments count as activity for the YT algorithm! Thanks!
@@FireWaterCooking Really that Grillgun is crazy. I bet I could strip paint off a cart with it ;)
@@raydash2898 at 400,000 btu's you sure can! my grills are up and ready to cook ing under 3 minutes..
Swarzall is pretty trash from what im seeing in this video.
I used mine 3 times before trashing it. most over rated product I had ever had...
