For the Rampage, Consider that the thermite is increasing the pressure of the back pressure and increasing the cycling rate, in the video it seems they did not show you the non-Rev vs Revved versions of the fire rate. Increased heat/pressure, quicker gas action, more RPM

Realistically the Rampage could have been designed with a higher ROF if desired, but one thing many people forget is that the APEX games are in essence a bloodsport style gameshow presumably watched throughout all humanity controlled space, many of the guns are designed to be gimmicky (namely the rampage, bocek, 30-30 and the nerfed anti titan weapons) as they are used for entertainment purposes and are not 100% intended to be optimal infantry weapons.

possible for use by super-agile pilot supersoldiers.

The two standard assault rifles (the R101s), the DMR, and the R-97 sub gun all appear to have similar lineage of design with similarly canted mags and other design commonalities, which I found really interesting that the devs factored in. I know that for the original Titanfall, they tried to lend an aspect of realism to the mechs in the game by modeling some of their components off of existing heavy equipment and tank parts like the driver's hatch of the M1 Abrams, so it's cool to see that continue in TF|2 and Apex

So for the Energy ammo weapons, if im remembering my lore right most are just pretty much electromagnetic propelled flechettes/bullets and the charge up for the Peacekeeper/Triple take act as chokes. And while not seen here the R-99 and Hemlock have families of guns made by the same companies that share basically the same designs but more specialized the R-99 PDW has the C.A.R PDW, the R-301 assault rifle (there are previous iteration in past games, R-101 and R-201) and and D-101 "Longbow" DMR, and the Hemlock has the Devotion and Volt energy weapons made by the same company

An additional note about the guns that I like: All applicable weapons have a bit of an extended reload animation when emptying the magazine versus reloading a partial magazine.
For the Peacekeeper shotgun, I believe there's a magnetic type of choke system that charges up to tighten the spread, and the lever-action is a charging mechanism I think, giving the system a small charge to fire the shot. Only issue with that thought is the shells that enter the weapon are actually batteries, and not exactly sure what the projectiles are, though speculation can be made.

The guns that originate from titanfall all look like realistic steps from modern guns and have realistic properties to them. I never actually noticed the Flatline having nature from the AK series but now that he mentioned it i can. I also appreciate that in lore a lot of the guns are siblings to each other from a select group of gun manufactures like Hammond, Vinson, Lastimosta, and so on, each giving seperate feels and weapons desgins and types, kinda like borderlands. I also enjoy that with each installment in the series they sort of evolve the guns as well. Some stay the same but others are different in the series such as the Double Take in Titanfall becoming the Triple Take, or the R101, R201, and the R301 all being varients of the same gun with the R99 being the Smg varient of the rifles. The furniture is unchanged. The VK47 is a total redesign across the board with completely different receiver architecture and componentry i.e. is not a future upgrade of an AK. It may be, in the minds of the devs, but it doesn't work as one conceptually/design-wise.

for the energy based weapons like the 3 barreled rifle the triple take the magazine is basically a big battery. the lever action shotgun is also an energy based weapon.

Kinda wish they allowed Jonathan to view the weapon model and rotate it, instead of just showing it used in-round/shooting range with the player model.
Sidenote, i like the Filipino aethetic armory emblem which is the Latimosa armory. It was that way because the modeller is a Filipino

I have only played TF|2 but Isn't Lastimosa the guy who dies and gives Cooper BT ? Is the armory just named after him or does his character come from a family of Gunsmiths ? I really want to go back and play TF2 now.

I Would love for him to react to weapons from Warframe, if he’s brave enough to attempt that game with how many wack weapons there are in each slot and what they do. There are a bunch that actually look and work like realistic weapons though, and they have a great customization menu so he can see the weapons really well.

@@ineedscissors6176 if you like more realistic shooters and have some interest in ww1 i think you would enjoy it. but since i play it on pc im not sure how well that the mechanics would translate to controller.

I was really hoping that he would cover the sentry. That gun has the fun quirk of not having a feasable way for the ammunition to travel from the magazine to the chamber.

I think my favorite videos in this series are of Sci-Fi or other fictional guns, but if we ever get back to games that claim to be historically accurate, I'd love to see a video on Post Scriptum. I'm no firearms expert but the sound and feel of the weapons in that game always stuck out to me as great, though I understand looking at the same "core" batch of WW2 era weapons repeatedly isn't as exciting!

The Kraber to me seems directly inspired by the NTW-20; 3 round box +1 chamber, sideloading magazine, anti-material caliber, but also the ring at the front meant for dismantling and separately carrying the barrel.

The only think I'd like to point out is that, I've only seen a few people talk about how the Flatline is a collapsible weapon, an animation could be seen 'unfolding' (I don't know how to describe it tbh) the gun when you pick it up.

That en-bloc pistol is reminiscent of the hailstorm system. Multiple caseless rounds are stacked up in a line and the propellant is set off for each projectile in series through electronic ignition.
