    Interesting products but I didn't care for the music either. Where is this shipped from? I see discussions on shipping.

      +Debbie Barnett Gosh people! Ok, ok, we will come up with something mild for the background next time :-). It is shipped from TX via Fedex Ground (due to the government regulations we have to use ground shipping only).

    Hi Alyona, I have a question about the gesso. Did you use clear or white gesso? I'm asking because the difference in the grit is dramatic, specially in the Liquitex brand. The clear is a lot rougher than the white. Another question, if I apply gesso to a canvas, can I use it with Power Blender? I just bought the kit yesterday so I'm really excited to get it and I want to have some surfaces ready for when it arrives. Thank you!

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Jade!
      I personally prefer Liqutex clear gesso - the grit is just right for the use with Powder Blender.
      If you are going to use ACP fixatives I would suggest working on a sturdy surface, rather than on a flexible canvas. They harden when dry, so with unnecessary flexing of the surface you can cause unintentional cracking (the case with oil paintings on canvas vs on panels).

      +BrushAndPencil LLC Thank you so much for your reply Alyona. I'm so excited, my kit is arriving on Tuesday. And I'm really enjoying Art Logistics 😃

    I think I might give this product a shot. Might even do a video review on it - if it works well, too.
    Questions:
    Do I have to apply a layer of the blender for every layer I apply?
    Also can it be applied over the fixative, if the the Fixative is WORKABLE FIXATIVE; instead of Final Fixative?

      Thank you, Sketchrcat! Please let us know what you think.
      To answer your questions:
      "Do I have to apply a layer of the blender for every layer I apply?" No.
      "Also can it be applied over the fixative," Yes.
      " if the the Fixative is WORKABLE FIXATIVE; instead of Final Fixative?" Both.

      +BrushAndPencil LLC , I have ordered my set. I'm looking forward to trying them all. Thanks on the music. I am starting to have trouble hearing, so it interferes with the information. Sometimes the music is just overpowering!

    Does this product chemically affect how lightfast the oil or wax based pencils are? Specifically, Prismacolor, Polychromos and Caran D'ache pencils. Thanks!

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад +2

      +Jnekochan , No - it is non-toxic, archival and inert. Absolutely safe for all types of pencils.

    Would silicone shapers, like those used for pastels, clay, and for applying nail powders work for blending with the powder?

    How well does this product work on clayboard and drafting acetate sheets? Also how well might the sponge applicators from pan pastel work as a blening tool instead of your tiny sponge applicator? I'm interested in knowing before I buy?

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад +1

      +Cheryl Ginsberg The original surfaces of clayboard and drafting acetate are both too smooth for Powder Blender to be effective. It works best on the nonabsorbent toothy surfaces, such as sanded papers, pastelboard, or acrylic gesso. I can't compare pastel applicator with ours. I would appreciate your opinion. So, please let us know about your experience.

    Can you use the textured fixative as a final fixative instead of purchasing both?

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад +1

      +Stephanie Getchell Sure, but they have different appearances and functions. ACP Final fixative creates practically no visual impact on the already established colors and values and designed to be used when there is no more layering needed (hence the name - final). ACP Textured fixative restores the tooth of the surface and allows you practically indefinite layering. The textured finish will be more evident than the final.

    Can this be used on Dura-lar?

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад

      +Donna Schwarz Dura-lar original surface would be too smooth for the blender to be effective. It works best on the nonabsorbent toothy surfaces, such as sanded papers, pastelboard, acrylic gesso, etc.

    Placing my order tomorrow morning; need to make a deposit at bank 1st - forgot to allow for the high shipping cost. Will let you know how it worked for me after I plays a bit with the product(s); and I'll post the visual results on my FB page at the end of February.

      +BrushAndPencil LLC -- KK; as long as it (all the kit's items) come in one box; guess I'm good with it. I'm ordering your book, the full kit, and an extra jar of the brush blender mix. Btw, I was surprised that you don't sell the sponge blender tools either as singular separates or in packs.
      ~SKETCHCAT

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад

      +Sketchrcat Yes, it will be in one box. Sponge applicators are a complimentary item we include with the kit for now (we might offer them separately later). For blending you can also use brushes and even your own finger protected with cot.

    Can any workable fixative and final fixative work, or does it have to be the product on this video? I have the blending powder, but not the fixative.

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад

      +Darris Lantz Any workable or final fixative on the market is acrylic based. Acrylic and wax (colored pencil) are not compatible substances, to say the least (ask any art restorer). Additionally, there is no alternative to our ACP Textured fixative, which is non-toxic, archival and 100% compatible with colored pencil medium.

    • @LindaPhillabaum
      @LindaPhillabaum 8 лет назад +1

      +BrushAndPencil LLC I have used workable fixative and then put down more layers and it allowed me to add more layers as if I had just started. Are you saying that even thought I didn't see a problem, it would break down in time?

    • @brushandpencilllc3372
      @brushandpencilllc3372  8 лет назад

      +Linda Phillabaum Ask any restorer about applying acrylics on top of oils or waxes and you will have the answer about the compatibility or longevity of such combination.
      Acrylic-based workable fixatives create a thin smooth to the touch film. ACP Textured fixative restores the tooth for continuing colored pencil layering.
