This is great, but a question still remains... Can you describe the method by which you arrived at CHOOSING to do these things for the material.. Like, did you just look at pictures of sand, and then just mentally identify and divide up the different components of the material and how those notions would be converted into nodes?
Or is there a more systematic way to evaluate the components of a realworld material one wishes to implement?
As a beginner, your videos helped me to learn and master blender quickly, if you are new here I recommend Ryan's beginner tutorials, they are great value. Thanks alot Ryan
thanks! 👍
This guy makes great tutorials. I endorse him.

You are a God in the procedural Material World !👍

I am always psyched to see an upload from you. The procedural material videos have been hugely informative and helpful.
Hey Ryan. Excellent tutorial as always. I was wondering if you could so a burlap-like material next? Just an idea

Can you do a gross meaty inside skin texture, I’ve been trying to get something similar to that kind of texture
thanks for the idea
I looked through your materials Playlist and i noticed that you do not have a somewhat translucent jade material. Any chance of doing a tutorial for one??
thanks for the video idea! I have a crystal tutorial, but maybe I can make a jade tutorial.
Can you make procedural grass material
Hey make a video on Dune environment creation
thanks for the idea
@@RyanKingArt mention not
Interesting idea and would be nice, however he has already technically given you the tools to do this, the only thing would maybe be little stuff like composition, environments and putting it altogether which other people have already done. Maybe he could show how to do dust clouds or something? Not sure what you're looking for. You could whip up some terrain with a generator or use the sculpt tool to create something manually among other things, then it would be just a matter of applying the shaders you've ( hopefully ) already learned.
Hey Ryan,
I've been having some problems with materials that got deleted by accident. however for some reason all the setup in the shading was retained but its not showing anything.
So i thought what if i duplicate the setup from the shading, create a new material and copy paste the setup from previous shading. this will only result in a black texture.
Ever had this problem ?
Hi. You won't tell me how to do color correction. Especially for scanned drawings. Thanks
One can watch 10 videos of yours and start making his own materials
👍
I mean that's kind of the point, and I would say that Ryan is pretty decent at not just teaching how to make specific materials, But teaching how the actual nodes work through making materials.
Question: Why are the rocks not included in the displacement?
you could add them if you want to. I just didnt want them to pop out too much. they are basically pebbles, so they are pretty small.
Wow im insanely early to this lol
👍
Looks coarse, rough, irritating, and is probably gonna get everywhere.
Haha. Anakin Skywalker: "I Don't Like Sand"
