  • The Daq Attack was created by Lee Zaremba at Let’s Go Disco in Los Angeles this cocktail has a decidedly summer vibe, but I don’t care. It’s summer all year long In this studio. This is just another beautiful play on the Daiquiri template. After a tiny little bit of prep making the kiwi syrup, it’s super simple to whip up and as an added extra bonus you can throw this kiwi syrup into just about any refreshing lime based cocktail for easy riffs on anything you’re making.

Shouldn't that be called Daiquiwi though? :)

switching the rums for unaged cachaça works really well in this one, specially because kiwi caipirinha is a thing

I was wondering about the 1/2 ounce of lime juice to 1 ounce of syrup, and then realized that the kiwi syrup must be fairly tart in its own right. Nice example of flipping ratios around to balance out an unusual ingredient.
    The cocktail sounds delicious too!

I would like some more kiwifruit cocktails. They're widely available down here and it's a good way to add tartness without using limes, which can get very pricey out of season.

LD, you never fail to entertain with your passion for making cocktails. Good to see ya man. Good looking cocktail too. I'm curious about the Rhum Agricole.

Made a drink kinda like this this past weekend. A couple weeks ago I had some kiwi that wasn’t the best tasting kiwis and I had some smith and cross I bought to make tiramisu with. I realized I couldn’t use the S&C in my tiramisu after tasting it so I chunked up the 4 kiwi and infused them into 375ml of the rum for a week and put it in my fridge. I wanted to try making a daiquiri for the first time and I remembered I had that kiwi infusion. I did the common ration but I used a rich morena simple that was fortified with a little bit of molasses. It was really good I was nun of shocked. So far I’ve only made a moginto, an old fashion, and a Moscow mule up till now, so I’m happy about how it turned out. Smith and Cross ended up not being something I was into. But, I found a damn good use for it in this cocktail.

Just made this! Wow so refreshing and got a nice complex bite. Used Rhum JM blanc and I’m very pleased! Kiwi syrup I muddled instead of blended and it was very flavorful. Just too lazy to clean a blender sometimes lol

Délicieux! I had only one bottle of rhum, Plantation 3 stars. I put 1 1/2 oz of kiwi syrup to get more 🥝 flavour

I have to say this is my favorite cocktail channel out there. Information is always accurate and easy to follow along. I noticed on the bar fly
By Mercer website the company is based out of ronkonkama, ny…just curious because I live ten min from the address. Wondering if you had a location to purchase tools. Love the channel

When making kiwi syrup, do you peel the kiwis? I tend to eat the peel, and find the top most layer of fruit has the most flavor; peeling the fruit invariably would remove that layer. Thanks!

I’m not sure what Rhum Agricol is, when I search at the liquor store websites I always come with aged (amber) EXPENSIVE rums if anything at all. Video on Rhum Agricola??.

Rum agricole is made from suger cane juice, not molasses. Its very different 😊

Rum Agricole is a style of rum that uses the juice of the sugarcane instead of molasses. It tends to be bright, grassy, and funky. Barfly might have a video, but Anders Erikson has a whole educational video about rum too! It is a super cool style of rum

Sooo MADE IT…. Still do not have an agrícol BUT I used cachaca instead and about an 1/8 of an ounce of Grand Mariner. Wife lUV’s it and so did I.

@@toadman10 the owner of Hamilton rums recommends adding an orange liquor small amount) to any daiquiri as an enhancement. So I added the Grand Marinar for that reason and I think it worked!

Death & Co (LA) recently released the Mr. Fantasy recipe! Could you tackle that cocktail in a future video? I've been wanting to use my Nixta Licor de Elote, but I don't know what cocktails to mix it in.
Would Suze work instead of Salers?

Where do you get your Havana Club? I live in California and have never seen it anywhere. Is it just because L.A. gives you such good access to spirits? Does somebody send it to you? I've been dying to try some. I also thought it was illegal to sell in the U.S.?

    • @gusgreer2231
      @gusgreer2231 7 месяцев назад +1

Yup illegal to buy/sell in the U.S. Either someone brings it for him or he goes himself across the border to grab it. It’s a great Rum but plantation 3 star is a very good substitute.

@@gusgreer2231 Haven't seen Plantation 3 Star in my area in over a year. I thought it might have been because of the supposed rebranding they were going to do, but I can still find their basic Barbados rum. That and Foursquare's Probitas. Haven't seen that one in a while, either.

I live in a country where it's widely available. It's my go to white rum. Honestly, it's a decent rum, but not earth shattering.
