    the reason Porsche is doing this differently because they can see GT3 variant at 2-2.5 times the actual retail price of the car by limiting production campaign. The only way to counter this corruption is for Sports car enthusiasts to move away from the 911 and go with other comparable sports car brand like corvette, GTR, M4, Lotus, McLaren or Audi R8

    Only makes sense to go 4.2L, its time to make that engine even more spectacular! 9300 rpm. That’s the latest 911 race car spec if I remember correctly? And If history repeats itself from Porsche. They have had a good run on the 4.0 since 2012. Time for a displacement bump. Last na engine will eventually hit the 10k rpm from Porsche! That would be sweet! We still got a couple more generations (model 994 is next) of N/A engines thanks to the Porsche gods!

    • @VK6AB-

      Not happening - same engine with tiny HP bump and no torque change. Rev limit the same, Lots of reasons for this. The 992 is a total snooze fest, they had to quicken the rack rate to make it vaguely interesting.

    • @RB-xv4si
      @RB-xv4si Месяц назад

      Yes, that’s the engine in the latest 911 GT3 R. That makes sense to me also. I’ve been hoping for this myself. I think there is a chance. You’re right about them sticking with the 4.0 for quite a long time. It’s time for an additional 0.2 liters again, like when they went from the 3.8 to the 4.0. There really isn’t much more to be squeezed out of the 4.0.

    The manufacturers should have pushed back earlier on the anti-ICE
    pressure in Europe and the US. Created a monster with prices of European ICE performance cars continuing to exit earth orbit. Now Porsche can use this and the aluminum shortage as fodder to lower availability of GT product. In the US, this means huge ADM's, flipping, and all the gamesmanship your stomach can handle. I am done with this mess. Standing pat with my 992.1 GTS manual for now. As much as I want an NA flat-6 manual 911 GT product, am waving white flag.
    I would encourage others to stick with CPO and other avenues in the used market, as will I if opportunity presents itself.

      @RB-xv4si Месяц назад +2

      I hear what you’re saying. But the 992 Carrera GTS is already quite pricey, especially if you check a lot of options boxes. If yours is low miles, it will still have a lot of value and might not be too much of a stretch to trade in for a 992.1 GT3. I’ve already seen plenty at 5k miles or less going for around $240k on various online platforms. Like the presenter said, 992.1 GT3 prices will only drop further when the 992.2 GT3 is announced and owners start unloading their .1s.

    Is a 25% price increase over the last few years for the 911 model line up justified? Is paying 20k extra to upgrade the ugly base model's rims, interior, paint and front bumper justified for items that cost next to nothing for Porsche to upgrade? Porsche has gone nuts since going public. Don't be fooled on resale either, unless you own a special model you are likely to own that 911 for life if you don't at some point sell it at wholesale.

    So Porsche makes more $ on GT3's than other cars in their lineup (as well as other 911's) due to the options and customization, and the 911 uses less aluminum than the SUV's and sedans - so why again would they not make more GT3's? This hypothesis doesn't make business sense.

    • @Glock7eventeen
      @Glock7eventeen Месяц назад

      Legally Porsche has a limit on how many performance cars they can make and they need to offset it by selling electric vehicles. They can’t just churn out 10,000 GT3’s without selling 10,000 EVs to offset them. They are high performance cars that have a ton of regulations. That’s why they force you to buy Taycans to get a GT3 RS allocation.

    So where is it now?😂

  • @G82JOE
    @G82JOE Месяц назад

    Yes, Porsche is currently facing production issues due to a shortage of aluminum alloys. This shortage stems from a flood at a key European supplier's facility, which disrupted the supply chain. As a result, Porsche has lowered its sales and profitability outlook for 2024, with potential losses of around 10,000 vehicles. This shortage affects aluminum body parts used in all of Porsche's car models, leading to broader production challenges across the company(Automotive Logistics.
    ).
    You said:
    Is there an aluminum shortage in general
    ChatGPT said:
    ChatGPT
    Currently, there isn't a global aluminum shortage; the market is expected to see a surplus in 2024. Several factors, however, influence production and supply. China, which produces a significant share of the world's aluminum, faces potential disruptions due to energy shortages in key regions like Yunnan, which relies on hydropower. This could limit China's production growth. However, China’s imports have been high, driven by demand for green energy initiatives and electric vehicles, keeping its aluminum supply relatively strong.
    In Europe, aluminum production remains constrained due to high energy prices, with restarts unlikely until 2025. Meanwhile, Russia's aluminum output continues despite sanctions, but many Western buyers are self-sanctioning, causing shifts in supply chains(ING Think
    )(Metal Trader
    )(Techopedia
    ).
    In short, while production challenges exist in certain regions, the global market remains surplus, with no immediate aluminum shortage expected.
