It is in the Guinness Book of World Record's, as the largest concert in history, as there was never a concert before, or after it(Due to issue's of just too damn many people in 1 spot at once, as it was a hazard, in general, for fire, medical, or police squad's to reach anyone, or anything in time, to take care of the issue's, if they arose. Luckily, there were only a few little squabble's, but nothing serious, at this concert.), as it was also a free concert, for the whole country to attend, that could make it there...

I saw their 1st tour with Ozzy, many decades ago and they truly sucked live. I am glad they improved when I saw them again.

Fun's fact: James Hetfield (vocals/guitar) has recorded all of them guitar stuff for this song (even the solo is his). Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) is here just for the video 😉. Oh, and they've also used the orchestra (directed by Michael Kamen) there. This song is also James' reference to his difficult time because he was almost all the time touring with his band, and once that time he even got divorced, so this song is an sort of his "excuse" to his wife because of that, I think (The line "forever trust in who we are, and nothing else matters" tells it all perfectly)

Another great song is Fade To Black, also any of the songs they did with the symphony are also very good.

Wow, I remember when the Black Album came out. We were standing in line at midnight waiting to buy it. People shit on this album because of its mainstream angle and success, but I don’t care. It’s still a great album by an amazing band!

to all you die hard Metallica fans, I have a question. When I was young, I didn't know what this song was about. I just thought it sounded cool. As I got older I thought it was a love song. Now, after seeing this video, I am almost convinced this song is just about them and their lifestyle as a band and their relationships within the band. Any insights on this song would be appreciated.

I've seen people mention their S&M live album. It is a live album with them & the San Francisco symphony orchestra. Hence the title S&M. They've actually done 2 of those. Also, Metallica is the ONLY artist's to actually perform on ALL 7 CONTINENTS. They have a video on RUclips called Freeze Em All where they play live in Antarctica. It's awesome

I had to subscribe after this one, i heard master of puppets by metallica 34 years ago and i was hooked immediately, if you get a chance check out master of puppets lyric video, you'll find out alot of their songs have some kind of meaning or message to them, puppets is about addiction.. fade to black, one and damage inc. just to name a few more classics

You need to see "St.Anger" the official video was filmed in the Prison St. Quentin. Check it.
Best metal band all time. Not their best song but definitely of their better ones. And not typical of their usual sound - so don't expect all their tunes to be this reserved. But in each song you can hear the different instruments coming as one.
Song's composition was arranged by the late Michael Kamen (RIP) who also worked on Queensryche's Silent Lucidity, and is mostly known for movie score composing.
Interesting fact of this song - it's written like a waltz. Unlike most modern mainstream rock music which is written in 4/4 timing (e.g. 1-2-3-FOUR-1-2-3-FOUR), this is 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 like a waltz. Definitely unusual for a rock song but so creative here. There are only a few Metallica songs not in 4/4 signature. Orion for instance has 4/4 but goes through interesting signature change up around the 3½ minute mark.
Most definitely.. one. Eye of the beholder. Master of puppets. And justice for all. Harvester of sorrow. Man the list goes on and on. Unforgiven 1,2,3. Nothing else matters. Fade to black. It's hard to choose one.

May I suggest Metallica-One, Hatebreed-Honor Never Dies or To The Threshold,Five Finger Death Punch-Got Your Six or Death Before Dishonor, Marine The Rapper-Gunshots, SGT. Dunson-Infantry Anthem or Shame On Ya'll, Hunter Thomas Mounce-True American. There are many more, but thought I would give you a few of my favorites that speak to me. I respect that you react to multiple genres & keep open minded while doing so. Also Forgiato Blow, Bryson Gray, ACAL, Upchurch Struggle Jennings, Tom MacDonald all have good stuff. Moccasin Creek-Friends of All Kinds explains a lot about the rebel flag. Anyway great content.
