Maurice's voice had an incredibly broad range. He could sing falsetto, tenor, and everything in-between. When Barry sang with his lower chest voice, Maurice usually took the falsetto during the harmony. As noted below, Closer Than Close is a goon one, but also try the Midnight Special Nights on Broadway. Although Mo doesn't have a lead in that one, he completes the harmony singing falsetto throughout the song. He is also singing falsetto for harmonies in many of their songs. They all had incredibly wide vocal ranges. In my opinion, unequaled talent!
"Morning of My Life" (the first part of the medley) is one of my very favorite songs. Robin's vocals in "My World" gives me chills (in a good way). Great reaction!
Barry was 3 year older than the fraternal twins...they started the musical journey since their childhood❤❤they were talented..humble..humerous...they love to smile...they were amazing musicians...loved them forever🎉🎉❤
Closer than Close and Man in the Middle are great Maurice songs. He was so smooth and sexy but he was comfortable being in the background more. He was the musical genius behind those later funky bass lines and could play many instruments. The quiet achiever. Closer than Close is especially good. There's a live performances that you'd love. Love your reactions 😊
Great reaction! Maurice sings "Railroad" - a solo release 1970ish, " Walking on Air" ( 2001), Wildflower" ( beautiful), "Suddenly"( cute & catchy), "Man in the Middle", " Lay it On Me", " Closer Than Close" I hope you react to some of these! Hardly anyone has reacted to Railroad, Walking on Air or Wildflower! Enjoy!
Love your reaction. Maurice sings Lay it on me (midnight special), Omega Man, Closer than close. The medley 1989 from Melbourne, Words and Massachusetts from that same concert. ❤❤❤❤
You must hear "Wild flower" and "First of May" with Lulu and Maurice singing together. "Closer than close" and "Man in the middle" are another songs that Maurice leads. Thank tou for reacting Bee Gees, I love them!😊🇧🇷
Yes, Barry's voice is amazing & he's on another level! Add the harmonies & it's pure perfection! And remember, he was playing while singing with such powerful vocals!♥️🎶♥️
Ola you sent me down another rabbithole. EVERY Bee Gees song is amazing but for unbelievable harmonies with them sing ALONE in San Remo (I think). Fantastic vocals especially Robin!!
Maurice was a middle man between Barry and Robin...Maurice had a low sexy voice...Robin had a unique high vibrato..Barry had layer of different voices..romantic sweet voice...incredible skill of falsetto....of course all the Gibb brothers could sing falsetto but Barry was amazing skill....Barry also sung songs in an,awesome funky voice also🎉❤wow how incredible the Gibb brothers were🎉🎉❤❤forever my great band❤❤🎉
"Morning of my Life" was the biggest hit of "Esther and Abi Ofarim" - an Israeli couple who were very well known for a long time, especially in Europe. The BEEGEEs' song went all over the world.
You need to react to another Midnight Special in 1975, they do Nights on Broadway, Winds of change, another Medley, To love somebody with Helen Redy and Jive Talkin. It’s amazing and then check out another one from the same show is a Beatles Tribute. Robin does a beautiful brood This Boy!
Some songs where you get more Robin. I Can't See Nobody. And The Sun Will Shine. Bodyguard. When He's Gone. For Whom The Bell Tolls. I Started A Joke. Massachusetts. Juliet. Tokyo Nights. Mr Natural. My World. Kiss Of Life.
To hear Maurice on his own you need Wildflower, Railroad, Closer than Close, Man in the Middle and several others not coming to my 60+ addled mind at the moment. They are all wonderful.
You should check out their medley from the midnight special from december 1975,As regards mo singing solo he did not do as much as his brothers he liked to be mostly in the back ground. He did their first falsetto in 1967 The song to love some body.
Barry and Robin had ambition and talent, Maurice was talented, as well, but basically content to make music for a living. Mo did most of the arrangements, played guitar, bass, piano, even drums. Barry said Mo was the harmonizer who filled in wherever it was needed, both vocally and in keeping the peace between the brothers.
They were the hosts of the midnight special for a few years, singing by themselves and also with guest stars. There is a funny video from the MS, where Maurice sings lead and Barry and Robin are dancing to the song, react to it please! Here is an excerpt from The Bee Gees 1974 Full Concert in Australia, last little bit of Maurice's song, Lay it on me, then they go into a medley of songs. Maurice is hilarious. I remember seeing a clip of them, can't remember what it was for, but Maurice was standing there, making exagerated faces while Robin and Barry were singing their parts, till his came in. It was funny. I can't recall at the moment if I ever heard him solo??

So they are actually a British group according to their history having moved to Australia right before making the charts, then moving back to Britain/England to be managed and produced into fame. Then back to Australia.
Born Douglastown, the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. Lived in Manchester as kids. Moved to Australia in 1958 just after Andy was born at the suggestion of the police, Barry for theft and Robin a firebug. Were there only @9 years and returned to the UK. Never lived in Australia again except their sister Lesley.
LOVED THIS REACTION!! Basically, because I totally agree with your comments regarding ROBIN! Such an incredible talent!
Maurice's voice had an incredibly broad range. He could sing falsetto, tenor, and everything in-between. "MAN IN THE MIDDLE", "HOLD HER IN YOUR HAND", "WILDFLOWER", "CLOSER THAN CLOSE" and "RAILROAD" are but a few tracks where Mo sang lead vocals.
